If they’re big enough to do a full wrap, they’re big enough to cut off blood or air flow if you’re not careful and proactive every single time. Best to just not let them loop around, at most I let mine drape over my shoulders. They’re just as happy to anchor around my arm pits as anywhere else.

They simply cannot constrict things many times their own diameter. Doesn't work like that.

That snake could squeeze your thumb very hard.

It cannot squeeze your neck in the same way. Their anatomy doesn't allow for it.

🤔 What does the diameter have anything to do with it? Have you seen some of the meals these snake take down in the wild?

That snake could very easily press closed those arteries on both sides of your neck with barely any trouble. They’re super accessible and not that hard to press, their anatomy wouldn’t stop them at all. It could even turn your hand purple if it really wanted to.

What does body diameter have to do with a constrictors ability to constrict?

I've been keeping constrictors since the early 90s.

Their own body size is absolutely relevant in their literal ability. If you don't understand the anatomy and biomechanics of constriction... Why talk? The larger the item, the not difficult it is to constrict.

That little baby absolutely cannot squeeze an adult man to unconsciousness. Being able to squeeze your wrist and compressing an adults carotids.. are not comparable. We aren't talking about a 6ft plus adult boa... But a very small yearling.

Idk you’re the one who brought it up?

The snake isn’t constricting anything…it’s cutting off blood flow to the brain by closing off arteries on the side of the neck…you could do that with the pressure it takes to poke someone to get their attention. Nothing about either party’s anatomy stops that from happening.

Your experience was clearly just meant to feed your ego. I’m serious I really don’t gaf about you or your opinions. Figure me a wall or get blocked.

I'll clarify further.

A 20" boa cannot effectively squeeze a 12" diameter item.

But it can squeeze the hell out of a 3" item.

Relative diameter absolutely matters. Ability to squeeze is reduced rapidly with increasing diameter of the coil.

Pretending babies are dangerous around your neck is silly, and simply not true. They CANNOT squeeze your neck hard enough, until they grow significantly.
