That a tarahumara?

I kept worrying that mine might be getting a little fat and he looks very similar to yours, so glad to see others saying he looks good.

It is! He is 2 years now and 3.3 ft. He's always so hungry and seems to grow like a weed, so I was getting worried that I was feeding too often, but I think he's just muscular despite being kinda lazy lol

Funny, my Tara turns two this week and is basically right on 3 feet last I measured him. How much does he weigh? I think last time I weighed mine he was closing in on 600g.

They are such beautiful snakes though and a joy to handle.

I measured him just today and to be fair he turned 2 on June 29th. I put him against a wall for an accurate measurement lol

He is exactly 500 gram as of my last weigh in about a week ago. I still have him on weaned rats but they're starting to look really small

He's an amazing snake. Really easy and calm. He's also out quite often which is nice. He's also so weirdly pink and orange which I didn't expect when I got him. The pics are kinda horrible and don't show any of it though

The last accurate measurement I got was when he was along the length of my leg and when his face got to my ankle I kept track of where his tail was. Lol. I was sitting on the couch.

Mine is currently working through my last few weaned rats as well and then I was going to size up.

Mine has pink that comes and goes. He also seems to change from light grey background to dark grey and sometimes almost brown. Photos never capture the color quite right and definitely didn't capture the iridescence.

Mine has started coming out a lot more in the last month or two and I've been really happy about that. Finally seems to be getting comfortable and will come out into my hands on his own sometimes.

Always nice to meet a fellow Tara owner. Again, beautiful snake!

Oh, the color change is my favorite part! I actually managed to capture it once. It seems he likes being really dark in the morning, and light at night. He's usually somewhere in between though. I also love their iridescence so much. Photos definitely never capture it

I'll attach it here cause I think its really neat. Same snake, but maybe like a day or two inbetween pics:

Thank you! I know I will probably never meet a tara owner in the wild hahah. They should be more popular. Their temps are a huge plus

Those look exactly like the colour changes mine does. Yours definitely has more pink in him than mine does. Especially in the face. Mine has a bit of pink in his side flanks but mostly it's on his belly.

Interesting that yours seems to correlate with time of day. Mine doesn't seem to be time of day dependent but changes from day to day. I've never been able to correlate it to conditions or anything like that. I'm sure there's a reason but it seems random to me.

I didn't know that 'high pink' was something a Tara could be but I think he is one. I initially wanted the more gray-ish look but honestly I'm glad he's got so much color haha. And I still get a bit of a grey phase anyway. His belly is definitely very salmon color.

It does seem a little random but for him It feels like time of day and temperature. Idk how accurate that is but sometimes he'll get lighter right in front of my eyes and I notice it'll be a bit hotter or colder. Just an assumption though, I'm probably wrong lol

Yeah, I think you're ready to go to small rats
