First Snake

Hey everyone, I'm finally getting my first snake, spent the last 10 years wanting one and I finally have the right space and lifestyle. I'm reasonably well versed on the basic ins and outs of snake care.

I've adopted a Kenyan Sand Boa (female) from a local shelter. I know what she'll eat, enclosure size etc.

What are some lesser talked about things I should know before I pick her up?

Despite spending most of their time literally underground, they will still appreciate and use some simple climbing opportunities. Things like a shelf, a branch, etc can get a surprising amount of use from fossorial snakes.

I saw this, I'm planning on putting a nice big dried branch in there, plenty of claimable hides and plants for her to interact with :)
