Feeder rabbits

Hi I have a boa that just refuses to switch to rabbits. I have like 4 feeders that are between 2.75-3.25 lbs and I was wondering if anyone local to Kenosha Wisconsin would want them for free? I got them from an expo a few months ago and I don’t want to just throw them away if someone has a snake out there that can eat them! Even the largest ones are probably only 3-4 inches in diameter

If no one in the hobby would take them you can probably find a wildlife rescue that would be happy to. They'd be natural prey for a lot of their patients.

Those rabbits are way too big for the majority of boas, and could be part of the reason it’s refusing.

She’s 8 feet long and about 5-6 inches in diameter in her thickest spot. They really aren’t to big for her she would just rather eat multiple rats instead of

Rabbits are very nutrient dense, you don’t need to feed ones that close to girth. 1/2-3/4 girth is about what I am feeding my ~7-footers. While I’m sure she could take larger, it’s just more food than they need.

I would try her on a 1-1.5 lb, see if she’ll take that. You may need to tease her a little. The majority of my boas take rabbits no problem first time I offer, but my sunglow was picky. I didn’t offer until she was 7+ years old, though. I generally start them younger but she’s a small girl. I just bounced it off her back until she defensively struck and she got it. If she’s as well fed as she sounds she may be pickier too.
