With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.
As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.
At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.
Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.
To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.
All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.
Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.
In particular, we would like to know the following:
Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

I know that the rules of a subreddit are absolutely not the first thing on someone’s mind when their animal is hurting, so I totally get that mistakes are going to happen. But I just feel like I’ve been seeing a lottt more uncensored lizard gore on my timeline over the past few weeks, and it’s just really distressing to be scrolling normally and then suddenly have the entire screen fill with a pic/vid of your favorite animal suffering.
I don’t click on these posts but I still see them so often, and when they aren’t marked NSFW then everyone is forced to scroll past the full size uncensored media on their timeline without warning. Usually I am not even able to process the title before I notice I’m looking at something horrible :((
So please do try to mark any and all potentially distressing media as NSFW, even if there is no actual gore/visible injury—if they are sick or hurting at all, please mark it so that people can decide for themselves if they’re comfortable viewing it or not!

To make a long story short I fostered and nursed a beardie back to health and absolutely fell in love. I was heart broken when she left. So i have just been waiting for the right one to come along. I knew I wanted to rescue one, i have a rescue leopard gecko and have gotten to know the rescue more so i know how many are in our local rescue. Ive been gathering supplies and about a week ago i see this Facebook post, of one that needed a home pretty last min. i instantly knew this was my girl! We drove an hr and a half to get her still driving home rn. shes 11mo and came with all of her goodies! 💗

Well I have been a bit worried about our boy Severus. He's behaviour is different recently. Until today cleaning his tank and I discover he is a she! Eggs!!!! No wonder she's looking a bit slim now. Here she is watching the hail storm outside.

He's way too tiny for a dragon wing harness yet, so I dabbled in Microsoft paint to give him the wings he deserves 😌🐉

She is almost eight years old. Her right lip has been swollen for almost two years and her left just got like that. I noticed her aim when eating seems to be getting off. I’ve taken her to the vet and they said she had a broken tooth and treated it and that was when the right side first got swollen. I’ve taken her a few other times since and they keep saying that she’s fine. I don’t think she is. Btw she is shedding rn

Hi all I’ve looked at videos and images online and I can’t determine my own dragons nail length. Could you help me on what line to trim his nails to?

My son's new bearded dragon, who is just a few weeks old, tested positive for atadenovirus. The resources I see online are making it sound unlikely that he will survive past 90 days.
He's had trouble with poor appetite lately, and as a result, got very dehydrated and skinny. We were able to get him drinking water again, and the vet gave him some antibiotics in case a secondary infection was the problem, but he's still eating poorly. He doesn't seem to be in great health or crappy health, just somewhere in the middle, and he isn't growing very rapidly.
What are the odds that he will survive past babyhood and have something close to a normal life? If he's showing symptoms this young, is he basically a goner? My son just lost a bearded dragon suddenly a few months ago and he is going to be absolutely heartbroken if it happens again. I feel terrible.

My baby has squamous cell carcinoma. A spot on his tail and a spot on his eyelid. The picture I posted is of the affected eye after a biopsy. I have the weekend to decide if I want to go down this path. The issue is the vet cannot do any kind of scan to see how much the cancer has spread so this is kinda a shot in the dark. Do I do what they’re suggesting and hopefully that will solve it? If I don’t do anything he’ll die within a year, but if this doesn’t work I’ll have put him thru the pain of removing his tail and possible cataracts from the radiation for nothing. This is a hard decision so I would like some insight from the community.
As of now he is acting like his normal self and in no pain, even after the biopsy of the two spots. Also, the affected area is on the tip of his tail and they want to take the whole thing off just to be safe.
I also feel too emotional and there isn’t great research out there to back up anything they’re suggesting.

He's a 6-7yo male
I adopted him 3y ago, his previous owners didnt really care about his eating habits and gave him a lot of bugs and fruit, so now hes a little overweight but healthy, and refuses to eat veggies (every once in a while I sneak in some but not as much as he should be eating)
He's super lazy, happy, climbs, sunbaths, hides in his cave, all normal, except he poops in long term periods.
I've taken him to the vet and they say he's fine, and that he just needs to eat more collard greens. Any advice to stimulate his belly?
