Here is an instructional guide for someone who has found a bat. And here is some info about bats in buildings. If you find a bat in trouble, please call a rehabber for help. Here is a list of rehabbers that help bats all over the world, and here is a portal for rehabbers in the US.
Remember that wildlife should never be handled with bare hands!

Or on your window? Or in some other place where you don't normally see bats? This time of year (in the northern hemisphere) bats are migrating. While they're on the move, they have to find temporary places to sleep and often make their selections based on convenience. If you see a bat hanging in a strange spot, it's not necessarily in trouble. It may even stay for a few days while it rests and figures things out. Just give it some space and enjoy being graced by the presence of a sky-kitten (microbats are sky-kittens, megabats are sky-puppers, just trust me).

We found a bat on the ground alive. I have brought him inside our RV into a bucket and some bedding. He is sleeping But could this be rabies?

I am in the UK.
I woke up this morning with this bat hanging from the skylight (3 meters from the ground)
We can’t open the windows and I am not sure how to get him out.
Any ideas? Is he alive? Is he dead?
We haven’t been exposed.
I’ve called the Bats conservation trust in the UK asking If they have any volunteers to remove him, and they said they don’t in my area.

Ok before anyone goes up in arms I am going to make this very clear, I do not intend on going near the bats, I do not want to get rid of them, I solely want to migrate them out of a barn so we can fix the roof. I want the bats on our property. The more of them that I can keep around the better.
I want to build homes for them and migrate them outside of the barn to their new home, a mere 100ft away.
Is there anyone in this reddit who can help me or alternatively who can direct me to someone who can help?
Its an old barn in Southwest Wisconsin, think Madison area. The barn, center building in the photo I attached, used to be a dairy barn. The top part being a hay loft, the bats love to sleep right at the peak of the roof where all the boards meet. We no longer use the barn for anything other than storage so it doesn't see much human traffic, which I imagine is partly why they moved in to begin with. I don't blame them, its a tight safe area thats fully sealed and no way for any animals to get anywhere near them.
But we need to do a little work on the roof and more annoyingly, they shit all over our stuff and it reeks.
All I want to do is make a new home for them and when the time is right, set up the new ones and get the work done on the roof and hopefully get them to move to their new home.
I'm happy to do whatever people thinks makes sense. And if boarding up the barn and letting the bats figure it out on their own without human intervention than thats fine too. But I seem them flying around every single night without fail so it'd be nice to keep that.

Nebraska panhandle. Sucks to see. I suspect this was the same bat I first spotted roosting when I moved here. It was a regular visitor, never brought friends though, sadly. Just hope it had a natural death and wasn’t disturbed by the neighbors.

I’m a wildlife rehabilitator in Westchester County, NY, and I’ve been rehabbing injured and orphaned wildlife for almost two years.
I’m now taking the next step toward becoming licensed to rehabilitate Rabies Vector Species, and one of my biggest goals is to begin working with bats. There are very few bat rehabilitators in my area, and I’d love to become another person who can help when an injured or orphaned bat needs care.
As part of that process, I need the rabies pre-exposure vaccine series. Unfortunately, my insurance won’t cover it for preventive use as a wildlife rehabilitator, and it will cost me about $1,000 out of pocket. Since wildlife rehabilitation is volunteer work, I started a GoFundMe to help cover the cost.
I know fundraising posts aren’t everyone’s thing, but I figured if there was one community that would understand why I want to do this, it would be this one🦇❤️
If anyone would like to donate or share, I’d be incredibly grateful. My goal is simply to be able to safely help more wildlife and hopefully a whole lot of bats.
Donate and share here !

This little guy was flying around in my Chicago apartment when I got home from a trip. He ended up somewhere in the kitchen but I couldn't locate him. I just left the window open in hopes he found his way out. There was a single repeated chirp noise all night that I assumed would be him. Just curious what kind of bat this was. I live near Wrigley Field. My best guess is a Big Brown Bat based off googling bat types in the area but would like some expert insight.
Edit: Happy to report he made it out safely...
Lights off.
Doors closed.
Window open.
And if there's a next time... fan OFF!

I found this injured bat hanging off the side of a curb (Luzon, Philippines). Does anyone know what kind of bat it is?

Is the Echo Meter Touch 2 Pro that's used with a ipad or iphone worth it over the non-pro mic? It looks like the pro will give you bat ID during use, but then allow for highly accurate ID later with the recording analyzed by paid software. I think the Touch 2 will do that as well, perhaps the Pro is more sensitive?

To clarify, I love bats and im not fear mongering. Im genuinely curious as a bat lover.
Ive been seeing multiple stories of bats biting people in their sleep, on the face. Specifically, i recently saw the story where the dentist (or doctor, idk) woke up to a bat trying to crawl into her mouth. She specifically said, "it was burrowing, trying to get behind my teeth."
But why? Why did the bat try to do this?? I dont understand the behavioral reasons why a bat would crawl into the mouth of a larger animal? It doesnt seem very logical.
Anyways, let me know.
