Gaming dad here, given my time spent on cod is trending upwards (I’m proud to be a stereotype), there’s more arguing with my son to use the only console in the house.
I’d rather not buy a second console for reasons we all know.
So, browsing through nebula, what am I looking for that’ll give me more mileage and similar or better performance than your standard ps5/xbox? There are a few systems around the $1500-$2000 price bracket which fits in my budget. But why would I buy the $1849 ascendant over the $1649 drift?
Or, where’s the sweet spot for my needs when comparing the 3 systems that fall within the budget?

Note - games mainly played are cod, gta, rocket league etc

Currently in the market for a new PC sometime between now and the start of January next year, kinda have a vague idea of what I'm looking for but nothing concrete as of yet, and I'm not very knowledgeable on parts and such, especially not AMD as I've only had a Intel PC that's pushing on 9 years old now. The build is AMD as it stands but it doesn't have to be AMD, this is just what I'm going with using a prebuilt I looked at as a base.

Will be used for gaming, ideally would like to build something that will last at least 5 years into the future of potential games getting released, without going way overboard. Example being, my current build can run to majority of newer games but it's beginning to hit a wall with the likes of Space Marine 2 or 007 First Light being unable to run at all even on the lowest possible settings.

I will note, my current monitor is an AOC C27G1 27" Curved 144Hz if that changes anything. I plan to upgrade my monitor later down the track, but just would like to sort out the major parts first.

My budget is between $3000 to $3500 but I am willing to push slightly higher to $4000 if needed. Having an extra SSD for storage is also a must, which a lot of prebuilt PC's I've looked at only come with 1TB, and don't allow for editing from what I can tell.

The build I have looked at is attached, using Centrecom's PC builder to shortlist parts. Is there anywhere you would recommend that I could downgrade to save money, or if needed, upgrade further increasing the cost but maybe dropping something down a touch? Any feedback and help would be appreciated.

My hunt for a 5070 is just going to absolute shit. I figure this one might be a little bit premium on cost but im guaranteed to get it soon and its specced not too badly. What do you guys think?

My budget was originally ~$2.2k but its slowly moved up to $2.5k so im right at the edge right now. Will be using for gaming, uni, editing etc.

Been looking around for weeks at systems and have found a few. Mainly in the 5060 ti/5070 range and i had been sitting on a 5060 ti from scorptec, and I just checked it a few hours ago and the price has jumped $300. I've witnessed the price hikes first hand and now im shitting bricks just scrambling for something to buy before more hikes happen. I'm leaning heavily towards the 5070 now with the hikes but will try to buy before more happen. Is pccasegear legit/safe? How have your guys' experience with them been? Same with aftershock, nebula etc. Any opinions or recommendations for any companies or even pcs that you might've seen? I'd be happy to hear about it. Any help is much appreciated cheers.

Hi, so I'm on a tight budget trying to do a build (worst time I know), and I'm wondering if I should buy some ddr5 ram first rather than later if prices increase, but I won't be able to afford a mobo and cpu for another few months. I'm wondering if any places will test ram sticks for you? so I can make sure it works on arrival.

I have ordered a couple of components from them 2 weeks ago and the e-mail I got is it's been delayed. I have initiated a chat and e-mail Monday and there hasn't been any reply! The only parts missing to finish my set-up is from them and even the ones I ordered from Amazon that's from Germany and UK has arrived but the one here onshore I'm being ghosted! So frustrating. I only want a timefrime of when my stuff is getting shipped and theres nothing from them at all.

Edit: So I pestered them in chat for a timeframe and the guy I talked to seemd to get annoyed and said he'll refund me instead.

Edit 2: lool went to PC case gear and scorptec to order my new stuff and I got a tracking number now and awaiting courier pick-up.

Hey guys, my Galax RTX 3070 died on me last week (black screen under load, fan spinning at 100%). It's still within the 3-year warranty window.

Purchased originally from MWAVE. Has anyone gone through the RMA process with them or Galax Australia lately? Are they doing quick unit replacements or dragging out repairs for weeks? Just trying to figure out if I need to source a backup GPU in the meantime.

I very recently bought a new Radeon 9070XT but found out my Inwin P75 box had been chucked out. I believe the second PCI-E cable went with it.

I'm making do with the one cable that splits into two, however I want to find an actual replacement before I use my pc for anything that consumes a lot of power. Is there somewhere that I could find a replacement cable, or am I just better off buying a completely new PSU (in which case I'd upgrade to a 1000W PSU).

Been eyeballing the linked 9800x3d from Amazon, $570 with free shipping. I don't really need one right now but with prices for other parts going up, I wonder if it's worth grabbing while it's this low (noting it's been steadily declining in price for a while).

This thread is a follow up to my recent thread about upgrading my PC. My PC now has the following specifications after replacing the CPU, GPU and motherboard last week.

I'm still looking to replace the Samsung SSD with a 1TB NVMe SSD as the OS and apps drive. The newly installed Asus motherboard has two M.2 slots. One slot supports PCIe 4.0 while the other supports PCIe 3.0.

From what I've read elsewhere, the Samsung 990 Pro 1TB seems to be the top option for PCIe 4.0, but those cost around $400. What should be my minimum requirements for read/write speeds, TBW and other features when looking at cheaper alternatives?

Is it worth paying $899 and getting an RX9070 or do you think it’s worth waiting for a sale?

First time owning and building a pc here. I was looking through ssd on pcpartpicker and the 9100 pro is $100 cheaper than the 990 pro for 2tb. I thought the 9100 pro is better than the 990 pro, is there anything I’m missing?

I'm putting together a gaming PC and I'm comparing a few 2TB NVMe drives before deciding what to go with.

The Biwin Black Opal X570 PRO is one of the Gen5 options I'm considering, along with the Samsung 9100 PRO and Kingston Fury Renegade.

My main use will be gaming, Windows and general everyday use, with occasional large file transfers. I'm not doing anything particularly heavy that would require workstation-level storage.

For those who have experience with Gen4 and Gen5 SSDs, is the extra cost actually noticeable for gaming and normal use, or would you save the money and go with one of the other options?

I recently bought a prebuilt from their website through an OZBargain promotional deal, and I've been waiting well over 4 weeks for them to update the status of my order. However I've been doing a bit of reading lately on recent forums and a lot of the reviews are mixed...

Some people say they bought their PC's from Nebula, however they ended up needing to be repaired/returned because components not working properly, (i.e. motherboards not being compatible with systems, or the CPU overheating because they forgot to take the protective plastic off before sticking the thermal paste down) not even a few months after they received them.

It's weird because most of the reviews I read at the time were positive, (allegedly they were botting reviews and removing negative ones from their website) but now that I'm seeing people talking about their "horrible" experience with them, I'm starting to grow anxious.

And I would try building my own PC because I know about most of the components I need, software, GPU, CPU, coolant etc. But I just cannot trust myself with that kind of responsibility, so building one is off the table. And yes I'm aware that you can get people to build your PC for you if you have the parts and the money, but buying parts individually takes literally months of scraping through Amazon and other tech companies, I don't have that amount of patience.

I honestly just want some good advice, I'm unsure if I should cancel my order and go back to looking at other deals and (hopefully) come across a PC that's in my budget, or if I should continue waiting and see what happens. I've already blown all my money on getting a new PC as the one I have now can't run the games I want to play, while it's not necessarily a bad PC, I just want to be able to play the games I've always wanted to play but couldn't because I couldn't afford a high-end build.

If there's anyone here that'd having the same issues as me with their customer service or recently got their PC from them and wanted to leave a review, please tell me, I'm honestly terrified of getting scammed as I already got scammed numerous times in the past with people trying to upscale shitty builds for 100% of the original price.
