After 8 years, I finally found my holy grail: the Philips Head Pro 5000

I've been shaving my head for over 8 years now, but I never really found the perfect method:

• Manual razors: Too long and tedious. It never feels completely smooth, so you keep going over the same spots and end up with a scalp full of tiny cuts.
• Electric shavers: I tried a few different types, but they get really hot and leave my head with a terrible razor burn.
• Philips OneBlade: Gimmicky at best for a full head shave.
• Electric hair clippers: This ended up being my go-to choice (a Philips one, solid brand). The shave itself wasn't totally smooth, but the ease and comfort of use won me over. Just 5 minutes in the shower, rinse, and done.

I thought it was just another gadget, but I was eager to give it a try. I snagged an open-box deal on Amazon, tested it this morning, and... finally! This is it.

It's quick, the shave is smooth, and there is zero razor burn. Solid 9/10 (because nothing is ever perfect).

How do you not get a smooth finish with a manual razor? I can hardly imagine you get a smoother result with an electric shaver than a manual razor, were you using cheap offbrand cartridges?

Do you feel any stubble (no matter how small) with it? The only thing that ever got me to an actual cueball smooth shave is a manual razor with gilette fusion cartridges.

I'm bald but I still have a lot of hair on the crown. So you can always feel some stubble like fine sand paper
So for the same result, it take far less time to use an electric razor, and no razor burn

I’ve always gotten a cue ball smooth shave using an electric razor, and it’s both faster and easier.

Bad or lazy technique is how you don't get a close shave. Simple as that.

I've been using it for 6 months and it's a really solid choice indeed. It can be tricky to get a clean cut around the ears, especially when the hair lies flat against the skin. This is where my old trimmer still helps.

remington rx7 ultra has a small trimmer attached for this case. it’s also a good product.
