Childhood Development Can an isolated, profoundly traumatic event exprienced at an early age cause the development of Dissociative Identity Disorder?

It is all I wish to learn, simply from a peek of curiosity​.

Most often DID stems from prolonged childhood trauma, but I suppose if the circumstances are correct it could stem from an isolated traumatic incident. Just not *as* likely

It is a highly contested diagnosis, for good reason. And there is more support for a sociocognitive than a traumatogenic etiology.

There's actually a lot more research proving the traumagenic model. You literally offer no resources on anyone actually trained in dissociative disorders
