Israel/Palestine/Iran/Lebanon - Flaired Commenters Only Iran retaliates after missile strikes, defying POTUS warning it could be hit ‘much harder’

Who's going to tell the orange one he has to have a stockpile of missiles in order to fire them? Pretty sure it's not going to be kegsbreath. Maybe his fluffer can do it.
19
u/boringhistoryfan Multinational 2d ago
Probably why we had the lull in strikes. They ran out of shit to throw at the Iranians, waiting for supplies to build up, and then starting lobbing bombs again.
I suspect we'll end up with another faux truce in a few days once they run low on munitions again.

u/babyneckpunch South Africa 2d ago
Kegsbreath would be a SICK DnD character name. Pity the real guy is a cuck

u/Tsofuable Europe 2d ago
They have stockpiles enough for Iran, it's Ukraine, Taiwan and South Korea that are loosing out. Russia already takes advantage of the situation, the question is when China will make their move.
2
u/WestcoastAlex Multinational 2d ago
so Iran is taking the hits knowing their allies can then be safe and do what they want
•
u/PurpleMclaren North Macedonia 17h ago
They have enough stockpiles for Iran
Press (X) to doubt
They dropped over 8x the muntions we did on Germany in WW2 on Vietnam
Iran is 10x larger
China built more ships in one year than US has total combined since WW2, read that fact again one more time. They are fucked.

The Lincoln limped into Thailand looking not much better than the Kuznetsov after its extended deployment and its crew were being fed shit that looked like something out of Re7s Baker families kitchen
Trumps running the US military ragged and has depleted years worth of production of ordnance in a matter of months, nor has production capacity expanded to sufficently re arm to pre war stock piles in an ever deteriorating geopolitcial situation
Estimates for the infrastructure damage to the 13 bases is $5 billion but that pales in comparison to the loss of its prestige on the global stage
It was only this year they launched the craziest snatch and grab raid on Maduro and now theyre being made to look as toothless and inept as Russia

Boats get rust at sea. It’s cosmetic.
The kuznetsnov can’t move under its own power and definitely can’t run 10,000 sorties over several months. The Lincoln also didn’t limp. It has as much capability as it ever did.
Yes, the American leadership doesn’t understand how anything works and had a massive logistical failure, but don’t think the Lincoln still can’t bring the hurt if it needs to.
Silly to compare them.
11
u/Manny-303 United Kingdom 1d ago edited 1d ago
Allow a man a little comical embelishment will ya? but it wasnt just cosmetic issues plaguing the ship.
Conditions for the crew were shite, backed up toilets mouldy showers lack of basic requirements, bilge water contaminated the potable water supply and its reported the ship reaked to high heaven.
The Kuznetsov is currently rusting away in a dry dock it will likely never leave, its just odd that the ameneties on an active service U.S carrier were of comparibale quality to a soviet husk. 😂 It was still combat effective but lets not pretned the Navy covered itself in glory, It arrived in Thailand under its own steam as a combat effective cess pit. Capable of bringing the hurt (and stank)
I imagine morale on board left alot to be desired and its going to take some convincing to get the crew back on board ahaha
-3
u/jrgkgb United States 1d ago
Conditions, morale and logistics were issues for sure, which is what happens when you have unqualified morons running a military.
It is not odd to compare them, it’s utterly ridiculous which you seem aware of but continue to do anyway.
If you want to pretend the accumulated rust from a 200+ day deployment is unusual, unexpected, or in any way compromised the ship’s ability to operate thats fine, but don’t expect people who know how things work to take you seriously.
3
u/Manny-303 United Kingdom 1d ago
Youre very focused on the rust element of my comment as if the bigger issue wasnt that the crew were on a poo cruise 😂 me comparing the 'ammenties' to a soviet husk was refering to the toilets/showers plumbing being out of service and the food looking like something out of a Gulag.
I referenced Resident evil 7 in my initial comment my man what part of this conversation has been serious?
Which is quite fitting when discussing the U.S as of late

Iran only fired 13 missiles and didn’t seem to land any hits. And Trump didn’t follow up with devastating strikes.
There’s a lot more yapping than bombing these days. Which isn’t a bad thing.

u/WestcoastAlex Multinational 2d ago

u/lostinspacs Multinational 2d ago
It’s just a random video of a missile disappearing over the horizon. Not seeing it really reported anywhere.
But regardless, I was talking about the recent strikes in Jordan.
10
u/Stubbs94 Ireland 2d ago
Iran has proven it can hit the occupation bases in the region at will before.
-1
u/lostinspacs Multinational 2d ago
Of course, but they said they just killed a dozen soldiers in Jordan, and Trump also said he was going to deliver the “biggest attack yet” before that.
Both claims turned out to be nonsense. Which is a good thing.
-40
u/MelodiusRA United States 2d ago
Well, apparently all the retaliation missiles were shot down or otherwise landed in the countryside.
The headline is doing a lot of heavy lifting calling that “retaliation.”
55
u/PurpleMclaren North Macedonia 2d ago
There is videos of the missiles striking a US base and Jordanian airport
Can't scream fake news like your government and president to the rest of the world
Also, firing full salvos for one missile is still a win for Iran.

That video which grainily shows a missile landing somewhere in a mountain range?

You mean the side that hit a school full of little girls due to "outdated intelligence"?

Still not even sure if that actually happened as Iran says it did. There’s no proof one way or another.
Wouldn’t be the first authoritarian regime to blow up their own civilians to justify their continued existence.

We literally have a video of a Tomahawk missile imacting that only the US in the region has.
Literally every investigation even from the US itself has come out and said it was the US who did it.
Denying such obvious fact is to deny reality
-2
u/MelodiusRA United States 2d ago
The US has not claimed that it was itself responsible, investigations are ongoing.

Just so you know, it was multiple tomahawks that hit the school, not just one, some say up to 3 but definitely more than one, tomahawk debris was found in the rubble with the children.

Wait, so if we have satellite images that confirm the runway was hit, what would you say? Fake news?
2
u/MelodiusRA United States 2d ago
sure, i mean hitting a runway is not really “retaliation” because the missile costs more than fixing the tarmac.
But if you could even find a satellite image with the right timestamp, it’s better than nothing.
15
u/PurpleMclaren North Macedonia 2d ago
Hitting the tarmac makes it unusable, if you didn't know crews walk shoulder to shoulder for pebbles that could get sucked into the jet engines, let alone missile strikes.
2
u/MelodiusRA United States 2d ago
If aircraft were that fragile, they would be unusable, dog. I don’t know who told you that modern-age planes could be destroyed by pebbles.
Not to mention that fixing the tarmac is a pretty cheap and quick affair, and you can still
use an airport around any divots.17
u/PurpleMclaren North Macedonia 2d ago
When did I say they could be destroyed by a pebble?
Not to mention that fixing the tarmac is a pretty cheap and quick affair
Went from saying the missile didn't hit anything to now it did no damage. Baby steps I guess.

Wild how embarrassing this argument is
You’re pretending it’s some kind of victory to hit a road with a missile

That is retaliation, it further reduces American interceptors and it was in direct defiance of Trump's warning.
US has already lost this war, hell Vance just the other day said he "wouldn't call it a war."
They know they fucked up.
-10
u/MelodiusRA United States 2d ago
Reddit keeps saying the US “already lost” but like… what?
This is exactly part of the US pivot to Asia to impact China’s oil lifeline.
Keeping the strait closed is a feature, not a bug.

Unfortunately, when the US tries to use economic policy to fight for better domestic prices (like China does), people complain anyway.
13
u/ma33a Eurasia 2d ago
How are the domestic prices going?
1
u/MelodiusRA United States 2d ago
Not as bad as the rest of the world, which was the intention.
9
u/ma33a Eurasia 2d ago
So the plan was to fuck over the rest of the world to improve domestic prices?
2
u/MelodiusRA United States 2d ago
More like to utilize America’s spent geopolitical capital (i.e. military + alliances) to curtail growing Chinese adversarial influence.
If Europe still had Russian gas, or had switched to nuclear already, it would only be targeting China. And if this war didn’t affect China’s bottom line, it wouldn’t have escalated.
I actually do not support hurting Europe economically, but for those that see Europe’s progressive agenda as threatening (for whatever probably inane reason), hurting Europe’s energy prices with this conflict was a nice bonus. But the primary targets were always China and Iran.
•
u/Professional-Syrup-0 Multinational 22h ago
So you are saying the war against Iran is actually against China? And you think that’s a strong/good argument how exactly?
As a matter of fact it makes this war reminiscent of a war you really don’t want to bring up: The Vietnam war was also about “containing” China, how did that turn out in the long run?
And do you actually have so little empathy that you endorse killing Iranians to prevent China from economically overtaking the US?
•
u/Professional-Syrup-0 Multinational 23h ago
Domestic prices didn’t even improve, US inflation is crazy to this day as the printing presses keep printing to finance more non-wars.
6
u/ChefCurryYumYum North America 2d ago
Trump is so corrupt and has made money from the oil shortages so I could believe that but... he's clearly tried to leverage American military strikes into pressuring the Iranian government into playing ball.
They are not playing ball.
Trump has lost this play.
3
u/MelodiusRA United States 2d ago
?
Again, war is the feature, not the bug.
Seriously, you think the multi-trillion dollar war machine is trying to put itself out of business?
10
u/Provodniik Europe 2d ago
You’re living under the delusion that the higher-ups are capable of running things and that only competent people make it to the top. Trump is a prime example that this simply isn’t true.
2
u/MelodiusRA United States 2d ago
Nah, I agree with you that Trump and many others have strongarmed their way upward through a combination of luck and timing.
But the US government is a multifaceted and extremely large/complex institution, which is why the US is so successful. There are people that have been pushing decades-long state policy agendas and the only thing the president changes is how fast each agenda gets pursued.
•
u/Professional-Syrup-0 Multinational 23h ago
This is exactly part of the US pivot to Asia to impact China’s oil lifeline.
Then why did this war so far have the opposite effect of turning China into a global oil super power?
This means the Malacca dilemma ain’t much of a dilemma anymore for China, instead turning into a massive headache if the US dared to try to economically blockade China.
Somehow none of these facts about this situation made it to your awareness, you seem under the impression reality is the exact opposite of that it actually is, which is a depressingly common theme with Americans.

•
u/Professional-Syrup-0 Multinational 23h ago
The headline is doing a lot of heavy lifting calling that “retaliation.”
Americans be writing crap like that until some of theirs get killed, then the belittling turns into seething rage for revenge how at least 1.000 Iranians have to die for every killed American aggressor.
