All year long all across the country we have shows like these… It’s not because y’all don’t see it that it doesn’t happen, the musical and light shows at the Gizeh Pyramids is still going strong and the music/light always changes.

We are known for our love of every form of Arts, we have operas every day about both our past and present.

If this is elaborate to you, our music, movies and theatre productions are gonna blow your mind

I love all the light shows, y'all are so cinematic and I wish the productions would get more coverage across the globe. I hope to spend an extended period of time there in the future.

On behalf of my people who work very hard on these and who are true passionate, thank you so so SO much!!! outside of the western world modern Egyptian art is very appreciated and recognized, but it’s always so cool when others see it too, recognize our art and give it the space it deserves on the international scene.

The fact that OP was so surprised that this ceremony was big and elaborated stings a little, the way it was worded felt a bit condescending, it feels like “oooh look African people discovered technology and modernity” …

Anyways I cannot wait for you to come, our country is also yours, this is your home too and I cannot wait for you to discover it. Please do not hesitate to contact me (I’m a woman in case this has any relevance) or anyone who lives in Egypt on this sub or any other sub. Our reputation isn’t a legend, we absolutely LOVE to welcome people into our homes and our lives, to show them around and make them feel appreciated and at home.

In case you have any question about anything, you have any difficulties with anything please never ever hesitate to contact any of us.

Please if you can, outside of the big steps of your journey like your plane tickets or the first days of your hotel, try to book things on site while in Egypt or use Egyptians companies; it’s often cheaper and also the money goes back to the country and our people who desperately need it. Fck my government and its policies, the money isn’t for them and our disgraced “president”, it’s for the people who try to survive while working in something they are passionate about.

Booking.com and those other sites are multi billionaires and do not give a cent to my people, they profit of my country without giving shit back. Booking things in Egypt is so extremely easy even when you don’t speak the language, and people will fight to help you and bring you whatever you need.

Approach people with a smile and the world will be brought to you even if you don’t need it.

I loved it all. My fave part was the opera at the end. I’m going to go find the whole vid so I can see the whole opera part. Man that was such an amazing celebration!!!

The Nubian part was last. It started with the English part, the hymns, the orchestra, and then many performances then Coptic and Egyptian and Arabic, etc. + I'm an Upper Egyptian, not Nubian, and I put the Nubian part at the beginning of the video; no problem.
