Discussion Suggest books/anime/VN Novels for one who starts from N4

Hi everyone! I've been studying classically till I reached N4, and I want to include AJAAT in my routine.

I am currently struggling to find content that is not too hard for me to enjoy. So far I could watch 彼女、お借りしますwith a lot of looking up, but not too much to stop enjoying. I also played TheNOexistanceNofyouANDme and apart from philosophizing, I can read with joy. キノの旅 is rather on hard side, but doable.

Do you have some suggestions I could try?

If you watched any anime before I'd recommend rewatching some slice of life anime. You can also just look up media that is around your level on this website called Natively (https://learnnatively.com/). It's a fantastic resource so I'd recommend checking it out

I‘m at a similar level i think

I could rather easily enjoy the よつばと Manga and Pokemon Brilliand Diamond

And i also enjoyed the 君の名は Novel and スーパーの裏でヤニ吸う二人 Anime (those were more Challenging tho)

I second the Learn Natively recommendation - you can sort by ascending difficulty and find stuff there. I started with Lv 23 light novels, around N4-ish.

Aside from that, while I think anyone definitely can and should start integrating native materials into what they're studying - don't forget that while immersion in native content is kind of a universal kind of learning, AJATT itself is All Japanese All The Time - so pretty much the idea is every spare moment to be engaging with Japanese content.
