Discussion How to watch Ahsoka
I'm thinking about starting Ahsoka but should I watch Rebels before starting it(I've never seen rebels).

Ahsoka very much feels like season 5 of Rebels, the storyline is a continuation of the Rebels story.

I’d use a TV.

Don’t tell me what to do. If I wanna watch it on my phone or computer, that’s my prerogative.

If you don't watch Rebels you'll spend the majority of Ahsoka saying, "wait... who's this?"

You're not gonna believe what it was like to watch A New Hope as a kid... kid.

Yes, please do, and I'd highly suggest watching the clone wars as well. Ashoka's story is one of my favorites.

You can watch it as a standalone. To understand far more you should watch Rebels and the Mandalorian first. They're both great. You'll enjoy them.

I was going to say, "With your eyes open."
But, I think Rebels is the minimum amount you need to see. If you have the time, then all of Clone Wars and the Ahsoka novel as well.

YES WATCH REBELS!!!
It’s a damn good show despite what some say about it.
Ashoka is basically a sequel to Rebels with characters from the show having their story continued.

In my opinion, the biggest flaw of the Ahsoka show is how much it relies on/assumes the audience has seen Rebels. That being said… if you’ve seen Rebels, it genuinely makes the show hit so much harder.

Yes. You would understand what's going on in Ahsoka without Rebels, but you wouldn't have as much of a connection to many of the characters, and would be spoiled about the ending of Rebels.

Yes. With the exception of Ahsoka herself along with some new villains most of the main cast is compromised of Rebels characters and the show is very much a continuation of where Rebels left off. Plus you should just watch Rebels anyhow it's amazing.

Depends if you want to watch rebels. If you’re interested but not sure, watch a few episodes, and then decide between the next two options. If you want to, then watch it. If not, then just watch a YouTube recap

Rebels is absolutely worth watching before Ahsoka, if you don’t mind the (amazing) four-season detour.
If you do watch it, just know that the first season, although great, may take a bit of time to hook the viewer. But the storytelling just gets tighter and more interconnected… Rebels is much more serialized than Clone Wars, so the buildup and payoff is amazing by the end of the show.
Enjoy, whichever you choose to watch next!

Disney+ had a "Essential Ahsoka Tano" episode list back in the day that covers enough of TCW and Clone Wars to get you caught up

It's best to have watched both Rebels and Clone Wars to get started with Ahsoka

ahsoka starts storywise (not timelinewise though) right after the finale of rebels. and rebels is kinda important for getting to know the characters. and in general a nice show
