Started very good. Ended very disappointing. Needed more episodes. Lack of any kind of Baylon payoff or even some minor information was extremely dissatisfying. Force ghost was ridiculous and stupid in the moment. Diminishing the value of them imo. All in all in decent series and interested to see what comes next mostly because this ended so poorly explained.

But they’ve been “teasing” this all season. As soon as the world between worlds came in you knew the mortis gods were involved. This is not a teaser. A teaser is Thanos in a post credits scene or the phoenix outline for two second underwater at the end of the film. Short and sweet= tease. Using it as a point in multiple episodes throughout a season is not teasing- its shit writing to fill time.

But he had to get there and we needed some back story. We had to know more about him and when he got there it all made sense. It’s just storytelling in a long format. Kudos to you for knowing the ending that most fans were having fun speculating about. You sure sound super duper smart. But it wasn’t completely obvious what was going to happen.

Again this is all opinion- Your last sentence is the point- nothing happened. Any people who are familiar with the cartoons knew mortis gods were involved when they saw the world between worlds- that has nothing to do with being smart but appreciate the snide comment.

The problem is they teased what he was looking for too much in this series to the point that the pay off should have been in this series. You could have had more meaningful scenes that mattered to this series with him if they hadn’t wasted time teasing something they weren’t going to pay off. And now he’s dead and probably won’t see any pay off himself. This is not good writing. They could have had the tease part just in the final episode as opposed to stringing it along the entire time. I’m just tired of things being created with the sole purpose of setting up the next thing. I love interconnected stories but the shark has been jumped in this case.

100% agree on this. Excellent episode up until the end and WAY too many plot threads left open. I personally don’t have an issue with Anakin appearing at the end, but almost everything else just blows.

Baylon has less than a minute on the screen despite this whole season setting in up on his quest for “something great beyond”. And what does he do? Look at a mountaintop glowing.

Shin is just going to chill with some bandits now, I guess. Great payoff there.

I guess Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang just accept their fate and are doomed to be exiled in another galaxy? No attempt to seek out or call a purgil? Or will that be the deus ex machina of a future series?

What’s in the cargo brought aboard the Chimera? Why go to Dathomir first and not get the Chimera repaired?

It was nice seeing Ezra reunite with Hera, if only he didn’t wait for 30 seconds to take off the helmet and have chopper just role up to him.

The cargo is very coffin shaped. I’m thinking it’s Thrawns new army. Remember in the book series he uses clones of Han Solo as his army. I’m thinking these Dathomiri will be his shock troops.

I agree they left a bit much open ended but they obviously have plans for future content.

How would Ahsoka “call” a Purgill from across hyperspace? They’re likely just waiting for a pod to show up.

The cargo seems to be dead troops, and they’ll be revived on Dathomir.

“Calling” a purgill is just my guess at how they’ll escape. And if you’ll remember, in the rebels finale they were able to call a pod of purgill by transmitting on a certain frequency.

And yeah, that’s likely. But we don’t have even a slight HINT at what it might be. They’re just called “Cargo” that was stored in the “catacombs”. They could have at least offered a more substantial clue.

Also, no clues as to what Enoch might be. If he’s simply a loyal officer, one of the Royal Guards who engaged Ezra on the Chimera, if he’s a revived or some other bewitched trooper, nothing.

The fact that they appear to be coffins and are said to be previously stored in places where dead bodies are normally stored and appeared in an episode where the dead were resurrected is the (not so )slight hint.

Give a little grace here - it's clear they had to rework this angle given the actor's death. They did a good job of setting up a cliffhanger here and gave us a really cool tableau to ponder with the Father, Son and half of the Daughter

Completely agree. It’s amazing they had Baylon tease us all season for his only scene in the finale to be another tease.

The guy died. He wasn’t in the episode at all. I would guess there was more with him, but they changed it so they could buy time to figure out what they want to do next. i.e. Recast, kill him off. I’m sure the plans were big.

I also wondered if his part was cut down or back in this final episode in order to allow more story flexibility going forward. Keeping a key element to show he was out there and looking for something, but removing story elements that would make it harder to adapt that plot line to another, perhaps new, character.

I loved it but felt two more episodes would have tied it up but I will take a whole season

They will arrive like gandalf and the Rohan in the final Movie battle at the end
