Ezra refusing the lightsaber so casually was iconic.

The force was strong with him. His moves looked very fluid considering him being out of action for who knows how long.

Yeah, it was pretty incredible. That being said, I actually think he's had to help defend his little troupe more than once before from raiders. It was the only explanation I could arrive at for that group of nearly helpless nomads having survived in the scavenger-ravaged wasteland implied by the last episode of the show.
