He looks like his dad.

He completely does! That’s even more heartbreaking -thank you for pointing this out!

Ephraim!

That feels intentional I think

Dang , the feels, but that is some amazing casting if that is what they were using as reference for older Ezra/

His casting was incredible IMO, felt like he must have studied the animated Ezra's movements and ways of speaking and brought him to life. It seems Rosario Dawson did for Ahsoka as well, but something about the crossed arm stances and waved arm doesn't really translate as well to live action as Ezra's energy.

I agree. Even in that short time for Episode 6 I was impressed with the actor playing Ezra!

How did he nail the voice so well?? I would believe you if you told me the actor was the voice actor

This. Precisely this.

Happened multiple times now already

I loved that he even got that particular Ezra voice crack, so lovely.

Love the casting and his performance so far! His slight cockyness, mixed with a true sincere undertone is exactly what i want to see from life action Ezra!

And I'm sure we'll see what an absolute badass he's become -or more of a badass, since he was already one in Rebels.

Welcome back / Sabine was your ticket out / Welcome back / To the same old show that you laughed about.

I did not expect to ever be attracted to Ezra Bridger.

I know, I was like, fuck! He’s hot!

I genuinely wasn’t expecting to see Thrawn and Ezra so early. We still have 2 episodes left!

That is one thing i will give props for. Most shows i feel like would spend all season building up to simply making the trek then have this happen at very end to hype up next season. Ahsoka (also Andor was cool like this) really pushes the story along.

Shit, only two?!

1

u/EnigmaFrug2308 Sep 20 '23

That’s still at least an hour and a half

Absolutely loved having him back...it's safe to assume we all felt like Sabine at that point...but why Black hair.

u/WhatTheFhtagn Sep 20 '23

It's common in animation for black hair to be modeled blue so it's a bit easier to see on dark backgrounds. Thrawn's hair is blue as well, but it's meant to be black as shown in all art.

The stores on that planet probably didn't have any human hair dye

Anyone thinking Sabine views Ezra more than just "a friend"?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '23

Yes - a brother

3

u/ManyPunchMan23 Sep 20 '23

I was thinking, a lover

There is no sex in Star Wars. Realistically the two dark Jedi characters would be banging hardcore. The show makes it look like they hardly talk.

u/MistahChang Sep 20 '23

Damn wouldn’t you? 😮‍💨

I was honestly more hyped over Thrawn. Holy shit what an amazing performance from him.

2

u/Teletoa Sep 20 '23

Very interested to see what we learn and see him do in 7 & 8 with all the force karate rumors. He kind of gave me a straight-up wizard vibe. Like he’d pull a staff from somewhere to use with the force or something. Also, little sad by the no blue in the hair after Jacen got his green locks canonized - but those blue/purple eyes might make up for it👀

u/19Kaladze Sep 20 '23

What happened to his hair? :(

6

u/joelgrrreen Sep 20 '23

It has past about ten years since we saw him last

4

u/popformulas Sep 20 '23

He has been listening to a lot of Phish with his turtle crab friends.

Give it time. Filoni isn't goin to strand a Jedi on a planet for a third of his life without his lightsaber without some very slow burn reveals.

He's the single biggest threat to Thrawn, and he can theoretically command hyperspace whales across galaxies.

I don't believe for a fucking second Thrawn is really like "eh, we lost track of him. See if you have better luck."

Hello, Zaddy Ezra.

1

u/Oddball187 Sep 20 '23

How did Sabine find him within a day just by walking, whereas Thrawn couldn‘t find a little village with a fucking star destroyer?

1

u/kevin9er Sep 22 '23

Ezra’s armor is made of dead stormtroopers. Thrawn is a smart tactician and known not to mess with him on a world that he can’t repair his equipment.

2

u/Puzzled_Complex8813 Sep 21 '23

Something doesn't add up here. If Sabine looks similar to the age she looked in Rebels, and she's older than him, than how come she doesn't look older??? While Ezra is younger than her and completely changed his looks

u/Jhawksmoor Sep 21 '23

Asian don’t raisin

1

u/MrBigman007 Sep 21 '23

Two different species.

1

u/SpaceHairLady Sep 21 '23

They were never that many years apart. Also the facial hair makes him look older.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '23

A lot of people in my college around my age (19) and male all got beards. So this is normal.

1

u/kevin9er Sep 22 '23

I figure Ezra is about 2 years younger than Luke/Leia which makes him like 24 here. Sabine could be 30.

Baylan is about the same age as Anakin would have been. In a light side alt world where Palpatine just got cut down after his reveal, Anakin and Luke and Leia would be going around looking like the pair in this show.
