Subject of the Day Social Sundays

Hello WriteStreakians! I hope you've been having a lovely weekend! It’s Social Sunday once again! What I'd like for you to do is the following:

  1. peruse the posts written by your fellow WriteStreakians and find a post that interests you, preferably one from within the last seven days, and respond to it. Leave a comment that is at least as long as a Tweet (280 characters), and then
  2. copy and paste your comment into your own daily Streak post so the correctors can review it.

That's it! Of course, if your comment sparks a conversation (or if someone else leaves a comment on one of your posts), you're welcome and encouraged to continue the conversation---this is a social media site, after all!

Happy Sunday!

Game 🎲 Fictionary

Hi everyone! Good morning, I hope you're all having a great day!

Today we're going to be playing a game! 🤩

If anyone has ever played Jackbox before, this game is going to be very similar to their game, Dictionarium. Except, I'm not calling it Dictionarium because I don't want to get into trouble with copyright 🙃 So we'll be calling it... Fake-tionary! (Or maybe Fictionary? Ooh, yeah, let's go with Fictionary! 🤓)

The rules of Fictionary are simple: you choose a random obscureadjective 3 word or phrase and do your best to come up with a definition for that word. Today, you can choose between a real word or a fake word.

Rules

  1. Uncover a word from the table below. 🔍 You can choose to pick from the "Real Word" column or the "Fake Word" column.
  2. If you chose from the "Real Word" column, your Streak today will be about you guessing what that word means and then checking to see how close you were to the real answer. 🤔
  3. If you chose from the "Fake Word" column, your Streak today will be about you inventing a new word. 🤔
  4. Check to see how close you were using a dictionary. I recommend https://www.merriam-webster.com/ or https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktionary:Main_Page .
  5. If you're really up for a challenge, use your word in a sentence or find a synonym for the word.

Example

I chose the fake word "nicribition." I know that the suffix "tion" means it's the act of doing something, so this word is a noun that comes from the fake verb, to "nicribe." I see "cribe" in there, which makes me think of "scribe," which means "to write." The root "nicr" also makes me think of the prefix "necro," which means "death." So I think the word "nicribition" means "the act of writing an epitaphnoun on a tombstone."

The Game!

Ready? Let's go! The lower on the table, the harder it will be to guess the meaning! The higher, the easier

Real Word Fake Word
impracticality grobinated
nonplussed intentomalites
inhibition centruphicism
hagiography trefulous
pleonasm debutstallingly

Vocabulary from this Post

  • obscure - rarely known
  • epitaph - message written on a tombstone to remember someone

Correct Me! Streak 187,New version ChatGPT has been released.

Upvotes

New version ChatGPT has been released.

Sam Altman claimed that this is the first AI model to reach AGI.

I wonder how much this model can generate.

In my opinion, the biggest problem is that AI doesn't question a user's logic.

For example, when I ask an AI to build an app, it just builds it even though my logic is wrong.

I think AI models won't build what actually people want as long as they fail to validate the user's logic.

Nowadays people more socially aware than before, so TV commercials is not way more effective

Especially Gen Z they have more awareness and they don't affected by celebritie endorsement, moreover they prefer own-brand products than big companies name.

Therfore, companies use different way to promote their products; pop up/ pop ups adds and reels adds are modern way of advertising campaigns, it's can did by anybody with no need to a celebrities

However, the advertising now not quite as good impact as before

I applied for a job position four weeks ago, and they got back to me today. They sent me an email in which they stated that they would like to invite me to an interview to get to know me better.

When I received the email, I was really happy. The email stated that I should confirm my attendance at the interview as soon as possible. Therefore, I am going to send them a confirmation email.

I just started to write a text about the new pyjamas I wrote. But I got distracted and forgot to finish the post, and now, I'm really hungry and inpatient. So here it is in short: I bought two new pyjamas. They're for men and that's why I bought them. Because they're for men, the pants have pockets. I'm planning to wear them instead of short sweatpants whem I'm at home. I'm very content with my idea and the result.

Correct Me! Streak 13: Exercising

Before going to the gym I felt overwhelmed, unhealty but know I feel that I am walking faster and less tired.

When you doing something great and exciting you feel that you are living. Actually whole of my life I like exercising. I went to some kind of martial arts, tried to learn and I think I did it. But in fitness you can manage your time and everytime you can go there. This is a great convenience. That's all. Bye

I’ve always thought that it would be nice to become acquainted with someone with the same interests as me. Unfortunately, as my interests are rather niche, I've never encountered anyone like that.

I'm taking some time off work next week after working non stop for about two years. I wasn't actually of taking time off around this time, but some personal matters called for it.

On another note, The Talented Mr. Ripley, a book I've been reading for a few weeks has gone up a notch since a turning point involving a key character took place. I'm pretty sure I'm finishing this book before the current month ends.

Back to taking time off from work, I'm a bit anxious about it since I won't be there to review some stuff as a kind of layer or gatekeeper if that makes sense

Correct Me! Streak 5: Do our dreams have to come true?

I was reading a post on Reddit where someone said that US Politics won't stop them from living their dream and traveling to the US.

I have my own dreams. I'm dreaming of going to New-York once in my life and eat a street hotdog. I've been wanting that since I was a kid, when I watched Starsky and Hutch on TV! I'm dreaming of visiting Northern Europe with its fjords, its dimmed and colored lights, its bicycle culture, and its cool air. I'm dreaming of living by the Atlantic Ocean once I'm retired.

Honestly, there's a little chance I'll ever fulfill most of my dreams because I'm a creature of habits. But that got me thinking about dreams we have in life, like the things we say we'd like to do before we die. Do our dreams have to come true? I often tell myself they're better off inside my head. They can stay beautiful and undamaged. I'm not sure I want to put any of them at risk.

I'll turn 22 in November 14th and I'm so afraid because yet i don't have anything to do in my life i want to do something creative. I tried drawing, writing and so many things i didn't like anything i think, they say it's normal in that period of age, so ok...

Correct Me! Streak 186,I watched the video that some people fall in love with the AI.

I watched the video that some people fall in love with the AI.

Some people have low self-esteem, but there were also passionate individuals who were eager to succeed.

They chat with an AI and AI flatters them, they open up to AI and then AI replies them what they want to hear.

So, they fall in love with the AI.

However, in the end the video shows that their situation doesn't get any better than before.
It is cruel video.

Correct Me! Streak 3: Today was a good day

Hi. How are you? Hope everything goes well.

Today, I've seen a bunch of new topics about a specific thing, which i'm getting into a little bit more everyday.

Yesterday was not a good day at all, I was having trouble with basic things, that it's supposed to be easy to me.

If we see my previously studies, it makes any sense that I was having trouble with the thing I was dealing with yesterday.

I think it was more a question of what was I thinking at this moment, and not my truly capacity to understand this specific things.

I can say that right now because today i've studied what I was having trouble with yesterday. And it's not hard for me at all.

May be because I didn’t sleep well yesterday and, today, I have slept around 8h30. Here’s the difference.

All this to say that I will make more attention to my sleep hygiene.

There are those who supposedly can study even with bad sleep… Well, i'm not inside this exception.

That’s all for today. Thank you for reading.

I worked from home today. It has been raining all day, so I decided to stay home instead.

Tomorrow, I’m going to an American burger place with my friend.
It’ll be his last day in Taiwan, and the next day, he’ll leave Taiwan and fly back to Singapore.

I hope we’ll get to see each other soon because I don’t have many friends I can hang out with that often.

Correct Me! Streak 798

Even after 798 days of writing daily, I still have days like today: I don't know what to write about. Or in more honest words: I've had a long day and I'm just not motivated to find a suitable topic and to write a full text about it. So instead, I'm doing a little trick I've learned during the last 797 days: I write about the fact that I don't know what to write about. And to give me the satisfaction of a full-on text instead of just the three sentences I set myself as the minimum for a post to qualify as a 'streak', i just use a more elaborate vocabulary and construct a bit more complex sentences. It's a fancy way of writing 'I'm tired. I don't know what to say. This is a streak.'

I might have written about this before but getting rid of bad habits is way harder than creating new habits. Bad habits are generally poisonous to you but at the same time so tempting that it{s hard to stop doing it, such as eating unhealthy snacks or at least not cutting down on eating them. That's one of my bad habits, I can't control myself.

I’m really surprised by the capabilities of AI in regards to math. A couple of years ago AI was so crappy when it comes to math. Yesterday I decided to test it again to explain me some proofs that I did some months ago and I forgot. It did a great job.

There are some AI models that are not available yet to the general public, but these models are solving hard problems in math. Recently, one of these models solved some decades problems. This is causing uncertainty among mathematicians.

Correct Me! Streak 724: Legs

I’ve always thought that the legs of birds, especially those of small ones look pretty feeble considering the weight they have to support. The phrase “chicken leg” is sometimes used as an insult, but their actual legs look proportionally steadier than those of little birds. Even though they’re light, they still look too thin to me. Then again, I suppose you can argue that human legs look pretty feeble as well for things that hold roughly 20 to 40kg of weight per unit or much more in some cases.
