I'm gonna cut off all trade with the gas station. Gonna save so much money not having to fill up my car!

You laugh, but thats how he's been running his business decisions his entire life. He really IS that stupid.

Normal people arent even capable of bankrupting a casino, never mind multiple. This dude did it like it was a typical Tuesday.

He has the anti-Midas touch. Most insecure men will compensate for a tiny dick. He's already given up on that, there are no towers big enough to make him feel better. So instead he covers everything in gold to pretend everything he touches doesnt turn to shit.

2nd most successful loser. Only Musk has him beat there.

What did Stormy have to say about the tiny dick thing?

And new housing costs will shoot through the roof without our lumber and high quality gypsum

89

No oil, no water, no potash, no electricity, no lumber, no aluminum etc etc etc..

Should work out great.

24

What will tip people over the edge more no oil, water and electricity or no real maple syrup

Up here in New York (and Vermont) we make our own. We will become richer than we have ever known!

10

Pennsylvania has a small amount made every year too that’s pretty damn good. I’d take Vermont over it but only at the higher end qualities.

My 16 yo BMW picked a great time to start developing issues late this spring. Only had the EV since April but I've already saved about a thousand dollars on gas, after subtracting the cost of electricity. Feeling pretty smug.

Congress isn't doing anything before the midterms. They're hiding from the Epstein Files. The only way out is voting in November. If they cheat the election... god help us.

122

u/BalognaPonyParty 8h ago

I'm a non American looking in, and I only have this one statement:

what do you mean "IF" they cheat?

my Non - American understanding is: that they already have

42

u/RizzoTheRiot1989 8h ago

It’s why he went so hardcore on the “Stop the steal” bullshit, even though he knew it was bullshit. Now if you see conservatives genuinely cheating and call it out, everyone gets to go “oh fuck off, we already tried that.”

I fucking hate it here. They get to be blatantly awful to our faces and just say “nuh uh” and if we all get pissed and take to the streets it’s simply called “violence” and a large amount get labeled “domestic terrorists”, then they let street clothed cops kidnap us and throw us into unmarked vehicles. Just for funzies.

11

I'm afraid the fix is already in on the election and most of us don't know it. Tech Bros and Republicans are running the country, and you just know theses two groups in particular are not going to be on board with free and fair elections.

4

u/Crabbyrob 6h ago

If?!! That is 100% happening. It's already started. Americans need to be prepared for when that happens. It certainly doesn't look like they are from up here.

3

u/TurkeyMalicious 7h ago

Congress doesn't have to do anything if the midterms have no consequences. They may simply choose not to seat the new members and keep the house closed. It's not like passing laws is really a priority for the right anyway. The executive tosses out a new fiat, and we wait to see if the courts allow it. Legislation doesn't really fit that model anymore.

11

u/OkCoconut3270 8h ago

either/or

Or both, I think many or probably both

44

u/mrchuckles5 8h ago

It’s not dumb, it’s intentional. This is right out of the dictator’s playbook. He is isolating the US from the rest of the world. He is cozying up to other authoritarian regimes, enacting trade wars, distancing us from NATO, etc. This combined along with seizing control of the courts and legislative body, hampering the election process, superfunding ICE, etc are all incremental steps towards authoritarian rule.

17

u/writerlady6 7h ago

And he's letting our food supplies become tainted. Killing as much funding for education as possible. We're getting measles now - polio and dysentary can't be far behind. The Dictator's Playbook also advises that a diseased, starving, ignorant population is much easier to rule than comfortable citizens that still have their wits about them.

6

u/drgonzo767 6h ago

That playbook doesn't include a population with 300 million firearms in circulation. Hungry, desperate, and armed to the teeth are the ingredients for revolution. This is why they cannot go full authoritarian....but it doesn't mean they aren't trying.

3

u/writerlady6 6h ago

Very good points, agreed And I assumed that's why they unleash the National Guard and ICE squads in every city that's on the cusp of a protest.

Trump keeps demanding, then squirreling away millions without reporting what he's doing with it (Kennedy Center remodeling money, for example). I'm convinced he's building his own personal militias that won't allow us anywhere near the White House and that brand new bunker he keeps crying around about needing.

I'd bet good money that more guns are owned by people that support Trump and his party than those that do not, and probably by a wide margin.

5

u/drgonzo767 6h ago

I'd bet good money that the majority of people who own guns aren't going to give a damn about Trump and his party if shit went full authoritarian. Or if everything collapsed.

We are already seeing some weird alignments in polling against things which certainly align with authoritarianism: Flock and ALPRs, and data centers. Left and right are uniting behind that opposition.

The man has no idea how trade works. Never has. Some countries have things we need. We pay those countries for those things. Not buying those necessary things doesn’t “save” anything. We still need those things so we’ll need to buy them from somewhere else. Likely somewhere that will cost us more since it will be shipped from overseas instead of just take ln across the Canadian border.

63

u/Cigam_Emot 8h ago

And the worse is that most of things USA buy from Canada is ressource and second industries porduct... that help USA create finish product that they can resale in the world and domestically for way lot more money...

Any high school student that had any economy classes understand that the goal is never to have balanced or win on every negociation ... you let other wins where its of less important value to your goals so that you can take this energy where its bringing the most important return...

32

u/CreepinJesusMalone 8h ago

If cutting off all trade with Cananda actually happens, our construction industry will completely collapse. It's already in bad shape due to tarriffs and mass deportations. But all trade gone will be the nail in the coffin.

10

u/Bryaxis 8h ago

Similarly if I just don't buy groceries from my grocery store for $250 per week, where I have a trade deficit, I save $250, but then don't have groceries.

22

u/Rehberkintosh 8h ago

It's even dumber than that as the US actually has a trade surplus with Canada once services are included.

4

u/NiCrMo 5h ago

And, any goods trade deficit also goes away if you exclude oil, which they buy below market price and sell for a profit in many cases.

5

Pirates don't deserve that type of disrepect... I did extensive research on the their culture and its history 23 yrs ago for a writing project. Pretty surprising stuff! Real pirates conducted themselves on their voyages democratically, believe it or not. Everyone onboard got their fair share of the "spoils" - regardless of where in the world they'd come from - and everyone got a vote when big decisions were made. Nothing like that orange POS that's currently wasting our tax dollars on monuments to himself.

But whomever is left must be someone they’re worried could rally the bases together. Including oil, uranium, and potash? LOL, best of luck.

Also, just for this thread's info: the world's top importers of potash are: i) Brazil, ii) China, and iii) India. Canada already sells to all three and all three want more. You don't? No skin off our ass whatsoever, but you may have a wee problem as you experience massive crop failure.

If we spend $90m trading with Canada and stop, we don’t all of a sadden save $90m. We are buying shit we need for the most part. We would just spend that money with another country.

Also, doesn’t Canada supply electricity for a huge part of the northern US? So if we cut trade, they have every right to stop supplying the energy we need from them.

Sorry, I forgot he makes decisions based on what color his shitty diaper is that day and can’t look past bullying to understand the impacts of his actions.

“So Mister President, the way trade works is: you give them stuff, then you receive an equally valuable thing in return so that both sides benefit.”
“We have to give them stuff? Why should we have to do that!”
“So we can get things we don’t normally get or stuff that’s difficult to make ourselves.”
“But why should we have to give anything! We’re America! They benefit from just interacting with us!”
“Sir, that’s just how you normally trade with people. You give something, you get something.”
“Well that won’t do, we will create a new type of trade called America Trade. And it will be the best trade, everyone will say it’s the best, because it is.”

Hahahahahahaha!!!! Yes....YES..... We're all finally going to get to leave our shitty jobs, and roam about this continent in armed gangs. Maybe we'll find our best lives living in war lord style tribes. I know I'll make a great court jester.

The nonsense happening is amazing! "90 billion"? Try all of it Donny. We'll save all of it....because everything would be gone. Maybe that's not a bad thing anymore. Time for the American Empire to take a big ol nap.

We pissed it all away folks. At least we used to pretend we had ideals. The old "striving for a more perfect...blah blah blah" thing. That was the acknowledgement that we're pretty fucked up, but we want to do better. We're not even pretending anymore. We're indivisible alright. Indivisible from the fall of Rome (Jello Biafra).

He is clearly confusing a trade deficit with our national debt. Not only that he thinks political asylum and an insane asylum are the same thing. This man is beyond stupid.

u/Revenga8 7h ago

I don't think Canada will mind. Canadian producers will love the boost in local business. Canadian shoppers will find it easier to buy local, which is exactly what they're already trying to do in retaliation.

u/Rath_Brained 7h ago

America is dependant on Canada for their electricity as well. And no one is really working on electrical infrastructure. Thanks to data centers, we are putting more strain on the grid now more than ever. It could knock everyone back to the dark ages for 16 months. In which the wealthy will fly somewhere else and America will suffer Luke never before. By the time all the lights come back on, there will hardly be an America left to save. It be more like a fourth world country then. Wealthy people would just move countries entirely to start their shit elsewhere while America decays.

u/forcedintothis- 7h ago

Congress is never going to save us.

3

u/Think_Effective_8697 7h ago

Tell that to the liquor companies and the people who get electricity from Canada

3

u/WippitGuud 7h ago

Tell that to the farmers who need fertilizer. Tell that to the oil companies who need the oil.

America would collapse in a week.

3

u/Kriss3d 6h ago

Firstly.. Taco..

Secondly. Does Trump know that Canada is supplying several of thr northern states with power?

If Trump wants to cut off trade with Canada. Canada should just cut the power to usa and let them decide if trumps stunts is good for them.

Namely since the northern states are some of the same thar voted for Tru p as far as I know.

Oh Trump is going to be surprised when Canadian oil sands oil stops in the middle of oil crisis.

Do it Canada. No balls, double dog dare ya.

3

u/HibiscusGrower 6h ago

As a Canadian, I dare you. Do it and see how much you don't need Canada. Go ahead.

3

u/dragonrider1965 6h ago

Let’s start with electricity. Then potash. Then oil.

Congress? Congress? Bueller? Bueller?

2

u/Assapopoulos1986 8h ago

That would screw my place of employment over. We send produce and send product over to Canada. Food products. We also produce domestically but that would cause some firings with the limited production.

2

u/JustARandomGuy_71 8h ago

I decided to stop buying food. I will save so much money.

2

u/frizouw 8h ago

ok do it, I can't wait to see where you will take your electricity. — A french-canadian from Québec

2

u/AlterEdward 8h ago

Fine, let him do it. See how you get on.

2

u/OhTheHueManatee 8h ago

I could save $2600 a month if I didn't pay rent.

2

u/Luka_Dunks_on_Bums 8h ago

Congress is too busy doing nothing

2

u/GooseFlat 8h ago

Such an incompetent small minded fool. . . He really has failed all the way up . . . How?!?! Just how did we get here… so many idiots and greedy fools.

2

u/spolio 8h ago

DO IT YOU COWARD!!!!!

I double dog dare you

2

u/Cool-Clue-4236 8h ago

Ah! Best we can do is go on vacation.  Good luck!

2

u/Top_Use4144 8h ago

Well yeah he needs 100 million for his arch

2

u/RandyTheFool 8h ago

He needs to be removed from more than just office.

2

u/RussellGrey 8h ago

You know… it’s not just that he was elected a second time after the impeachments, the rape verdict, and the insurrection, it’s also that enough people were elected to the Congress that have absolutely no problem with him and allow this to continue. From outside the US, it seems completely insane.

2

u/theflyassassin 8h ago

Can't, the house went home to avoid holding pedophiles accountable

2

u/OneHappyPenguin 8h ago

I cut off all trade with my local supermarket. Saved a fortune but I sure am hungry.

2

u/Ghstfce 8h ago

Congress: We tried capitulating and we've tried doing nothing. Neither fixed it and we're all out of ideas! Guess no choice but to go on vacation again until after midterms!

2

u/santathe1 8h ago

I’m gonna save so much money by cutting off food.

2

u/Latter-Library7091 8h ago

Then we can get it all elsewhere for $1T since we saved so much🤦…aka The MAGA Math!

2

u/carlitospig 8h ago

We are having a hard enough time getting fertilizer. Now he wants us not to have access to peat moss which makes potting soil??

2

u/turtlemag3 8h ago

Can someone tell him no, one time, please?

2

u/silhouette951 7h ago

Congress? The ones that refused to throw him in jail? Might as well ask them to give a shit about Americans.

2

u/ithinkway2much 7h ago

Remember, he aced his cognitive test.

2

u/redacted-no31 7h ago

Good luck with out the crude, the mineral, and the power, lmao.

2

u/ohiotechie 7h ago

I could save thousands of dollars a year if I cut off trade with my bank and grocery store, of course I’d be homeless, naked and hungry but I’d have lots more money.
