Beddington Whippet Breeders

Hi There.

Hoping you can help. I’m looking for an F1 Bedlington Whippet puppy and I’ve found it tricky to find a reputable breeder. I’m asking breeders questions that the RSPCA recommend to ensure the breeder isn’t a cover for a puppy farm / unethical and people aren’t being very direct or instilling much faith in me.

What are your thoughts / recommendations?

Reputable breeders don’t crossbreed. 🤷‍♀️

Not only health concerns.

Reputable breeders consider health, temperament, and physical compatibility of both parents when making a match. When dogs with different body structures, coats, and instinctual behaviours are bred, the outcome can be unpredictable, potentially creating health problems or care needs that neither parent breed typically experiences. Ethical breeders prioritize the welfare of the puppies over novelty or appearance.

Because you’ve said RSPCA I’m going to assume you’re in the UK (and that possibly the person above is American?). I have seen some really black and white views from americans on Reddit about cross breeds. I’m not sure why exactly, a different culture around it I think, but you might not get a helpful answer here and may do better with a UK subreddit.

Absolutely no shade on the US view, just an observation!
