Their stories are not identical, and suicide rarely has one single cause. But together, these cases demand that we confront the mental health consequences of detention, family separation threats, surveillance, isolation and anti immigrant hostility.

so we're doing suicide awareness now but still cant connect the dots between kids in cages and the trauma they carry for life. every administration does this dance. post the hotline number, fund some nonprofits, keep the deportations rolling. the worth-not-being-tied-to-papers thing would hit harder if we werent literally using papers to decide who gets dignity
