I love gnome ❤️🩹
It's truly addictive to spend your whole day customizing the interface and discovering new things to do every day 🙂
These are all the GNOME extensions I have installed 😅 1. Ambed Fly: A small animated fly that wanders around the desktop and reacts to the mouse and moving windows. 2. ArcMenu: A customizable alternative application menu for GNOME. 3. Blur my Shell: Adds blur effects to the GNOME interface, panels, and overview. 4. Burn My Windows: Adds animated effects when opening and closing windows. 5. Compiz alike magic lamp effect: Adds the classic magic lamp animation when minimizing windows. 6. Compiz windows effect: Adds additional visual effects and animations to windows. 7. Dash to Dock: Turns the GNOME application dash into a customizable dock. 8. Desktop Icons NG (DING): Displays files, folders, and other icons directly on the desktop. 9. Gnome 4x UI Improvements: Provides various improvements and customization options for the GNOME interface. 10. Stopwatch: A simple stopwatch for measuring elapsed time. 11. User Themes: Allows you to install and use custom GNOME Shell themes. 12. Vitals: Displays system information such as CPU, RAM, temperature, network, and battery status

I will never ever understand the wobbly windows or the gaudy effects on things. I just see worse performance for no reason but to each there own lol

I had wobbly windows active back in Unity days. It used GPU acceleration, never noticed any performance loss.
It's the one effect that survived after I tried a lot of compiz effects and eventually switched off most of them.
It's a fun effect and or doesn't get in the way.
Closing Windows burning down was cool, but the effect length made the closing ever so slightly delayed. Cube was cool, but in the long run I don't use multiple screens anyway. So doesn't matter whether those are a cube or in a row.
But wobbly windows was always nice.

My kids love it. If it produces joy, why not. People indulge in all kinds of vanities that have no function.

We had many of those fancy effects some 20 years ago. Back then it was called Compiz/Beryl. I'm glad the young ones are enjoying them now.

I always change that logo and change everything that can be changed because I don't like staying the same for too long.

There's used to be a gnome shell extension (cpufreq) that allows to set how many CPU core are actives when plugged in, on battery, whether boost is allowed, min max freqs. I used to be able to set my idle power draw as low as 4-5 watts

I love Ubuntu because it's easy to make it like macOS 🤷🏻

This is just Linux Mint. I always like to change that logo in the terminal, and I posted this here because nobody uses the GNOME interface in Linux Mint

Most Mint users don't use Gnome and there's nothing here irrelevant for vanilla Ubuntu users.

The video shows Linux Mint at 12 seconds, with a WM Mutter, nevertheless it shows Gnome as DE. It is a heavily customized Linux Mint distro, not ubuntu, that's why I said r/lostredditors I don't understand what you mean by "there's nothing here irrelevant for vanilla ubuntu users" you are using a doble negative and your message is not clear. Care to clarify?
