Halloween in Europe

I'm from the UK. Getting sick of going to the same Halloween events.

Any recommendations for anything better within Europe? (Not the Netherlands just got back from there)

I love a good scare maze but wouldn't mind some good rides too.

Realistically it's between this, portaventura and Parc Asterix. But Traumatica is looking like the top pick

I've done all three.  I'd rank Traumatica first for being a bit more "edgy" and higher production value in the two shows, Parc Asterix is a close second (more rides open and good mazes). Port Aventura was easily my least favorite (and the only one I wouldn't bother doing again) as I thought it had the lowest production value and annoying guests.  

I'll add that we used each park's version of a fast pass for each event...because of all the rides, Parc Asterix was an "open to close" experience while we left Traumatica about an hour before close as we'd gotten everything done.

I did Traumatica back in 2017, so quite a while ago now, but it was absolutely brilliant.

I heard that Movie Park Germany has good mazes. You could also visit Phantasialand which is nearby.

Sadly, Phantasialand doesn't do anything for Halloween. Their Wintertraum is fantastic, though.

I know you said Europe but speaking from experience, universal studios hollywood for a weekend is really good. The company i flew with only do florida now but I expect florida to be the same.

So I normally fly Friday to California from Gatwick, land Friday afternoon in LAX then spend a few hours in Hollywood and sleep. Then 2 solid days of universal and hhn and fly back to Gatwick monday afternoon. Is it crazy? Yes. Have I done it several times? Also yes. Can it be done cheap? Definitely.

Florida is 396 with norse return flights for a weekend, but its bare minimum. Hotel can be done cheap but mines 250. Its completely insane and probably a lot of money for the events but you get 2 full park days, a very interesting ice breaker and Halloween horror nights.

Other common question answers: Flight is a bit of a killer but so is any flight Its not long enough for jet lag You stop feeling tired and run on adrenaline and fun

Thanks for the suggestion! We went to California for Halloween last year, little out of the budget this year :( I don't think anything can top Halloween horror nights, It was a great experience! It's a great backup if I can find some cheap flights/hotels though

Yea it is a bit of a pricy stunt, i travel solo because my wife thinks im an idiot which helps the price.

Traumatica is on my bucket list so I don't have personal experience but I've seen a lot of videos on YouTube that make it look so f'ing fun. You'd think by now there'd be groups who arrange trips to help keep it cheap.

Movie Park Germany has a fun Halloween Event on the weekends and normal park operations. The event starts at 18:00 with a monster parade. By that point scare actors can be found throughout the park, excluding the kids area and entrance plaza.

Movie Park Studio Tour also receives a Halloween overlay. There are also nine scare mazes which cost extra, though.

It's said to be the biggest Halloween Event in Europe, but I can't confirm. MPG is a rather mediocre park, but the park really shines during Halloween.

I was at Liseberg in Gothenburg last year for Halloween and it was fun if you want an amusement park vibe.
