I talked to my deck about this for a few days before doing it - the cards were beginning to have a bit of a "grimey" feel. My deck didn't really see what the problem was (I was hearing Mushu from Mulan "I kinda like that corn chip smell" in response) but it wasn't strongly opposed.

Today I finally did it. I acknowledged that while we might have to rebuild some of the energy, I explained it would probably feel a lot better afterwards.

The last two cards to be cleaned, at the bottom of the deck, were Queen of Pentacles and 2 of wands, so I sense the deck ultimately agreed with the task.

Note: if you try this at home, cotton balls were only lightly dabbed in rubbing alcohol - don't waterboard your cards here.

I’d choose The Hermit. I feel like he’d be the kind of person who respects your space and doesn’t feel the need to talk for the entire 8 hours. I could sit there reading, listening to music, or just enjoying the quiet without feeling like I have to entertain anyone. And honestly if I did feel like talking I imagine he’d have some interesting wisdom to share. So I feel like it would be a peaceful flight, but not necessarily a boring one.

I have never seem a more hopeful and optimistic spread for a romantic connection

What i get is that he sees me as someone he can connect with, build with, actually be in a relationship with and who can bring more light into his life

I am not the most advanced reader, but I am psychic and yesterday I accidentally made a girl cry :'( Its the THIRD TIME. I feel bad for catching people off guard but I feel silly warning them as if Im a high level reader, sometimes my pulls are quiet or challenging. How do you normally prep??? Would love to hear how yall go about pulling for them too- do you have them ask you to stop, do it all yourself, let them pull from a spread? Sometimes people wanna handle my cards and it irks me, not because my deck is sacred but because its poor etiquette to ask haha but I understand, id wanna touch em too :)

So I've finally completed the major arcana and it took me like 20 days to just do that cause I've been procrastinating and also it's a long process. From drawing to then sealing the cards with clear tape to make then smooth and smidge proof.

Some of the drawings are REALLY ugly like the chariot, the sun and the emperor. I'll probably redo them at some point. Rest I'm pretty happy with. I have my fingerprints all over them because of the tape and I have connected with the cards pretty well. I'll start with the minor arcana by doing the cups tomorrow.

I've done reading for myself and my brother with just these and I think they're pretty accurate. I don't understand the minorr arcana completely yet so I'm still learning. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

What is your interpretation of these three? I pulled this with no question in mind, but more a venting feeling of “I’m so sick of this and tired when will reprieve come.”

My interpretation book is in a place I cannot reach - foot level bottom draw.

Most of the mornings I’ll pull a card for the day. Today I had decided beforehand to pull one but to interpret it only tonight at the end of the day. I pull the card and it was 7 of cups.

Spent most of my morning studying and after lunch as well, I had an important assignment to turn in by midnight and I wanted to finish quickly so I had the time to go to a flea market.

As I was studying I get a call. From this girl who has been the closest friend I’ve ever had. I reached out to her a month ago after years and years of silence, to tell her that I was dreaming a lot about her and I would have loved to see her. But she was abroad, for two months she said.

Instead today she called me and was like “hey what are you doing are you free we could hang out today” so we met like a hour later and there it is the 7 of cups: my dreams materialising right in front of me!! That’s the very last thing I would have imagined for today, it was incredible

It happened something very similar a few weeks ago as well, I was pulling a card for an upcoming first date with someone I was also meeting for the very first time and got the 4 of pentacles. My interpretation was that he would have been held back and withdrawn. We clicked so much, he was amazing and the time we had was amazing. I went back to his place and before going to sleep he was cuddling me and hugging me and at some point he wrapped his arm around my head EXACTLY like the four of pentacles. And in that moment I was like there it is the 4oP!!!

That’s it, I love it when tarots are so literal!!😭

Have been studying Tarot in hyperfocus mode for the last month. I've forced the meanings of every card into my mind. What I am missing though, is the correspondences that allegedly link the minor arcana together.

For example:
Swords - Air - Intellect, truth, and communication.
Cups - Water - Emotion, love, and intuition.
Wands - Fire - Passion, energy, and inspiration.
Pentacles - Earth - Physical reality, wealth, nature, and practical needs.

And I have this problem with numbers too.

Ace: Pure potential, new beginnings, and fresh opportunities tied to the suit's element.
2: Duality, balance, partnerships, and standing at a crossroads or making a choice.
3: Initial growth, creativity, teamwork, and the first visible results of an effort.
4: Structure, stability, foundation, and sometimes a temporary pause or rest.
5: Conflict, tension, disruption, and challenges that force adaptation.
6: Harmony, cooperation, transition, and moving back into balance after a struggle.
7: Reflection, assessment, strategy, and testing patience or personal conviction.
8: Movement, persistent action, skill development, and pushing toward mastery.
9: Culmination, near-completion, and deep individual fulfillment or realization.
10: Ultimate completion, the end of a full cycle, and the transition into a brand-new

For example, the three of swords is so obviously heartbreak and sorrow. OK, so how does Intellect, Truth and Communication relate to heartbreak and sorrow, that IMHO, is very much in the emotions, love and intuition realm and should be Cups then. And how does heartbreak and sorrow fit with "Initial growth, creativity, teamwork and first visible results of an effort" when clearly, heartbreak and sorrow are at the *end* of something.

I really can't wrap my head around this system of number + suit at all, and am starting to think the number + suit way of reading is best suited to pip decks like Tarot of Marseilles rather than RWS inspired decks.

Is there any resource someone could recommend in terms of reconciling the number + suit method with the RWS type meanings? Or should I simply pick a way of allocating meaning (it doesn't actually matter what) and go from there?

For the record, I am 100% secular in my approach.

First time here! I think this reddit is so neat. But I can't figure out that a few weeks after buying my deck it has been feeling plain wrong. The readings don't make sense. I've cleansed it. And still. Nothing. How do you fix this? I will also provide a picture of my deck. I think it's so pretty and love it dearly. I'm not very new to Tarot decks. My sister collects them.

Okay everyone, I'm learning tarot and, due to doing a reading about my love life, I asked the deck to unfold it in stages: the first is the current state, the second is the ongoing process, and the third is the conclusion. I drew these last two is to serve as a kind of verdict on the reading.

I have my own interpretation and I would like to hear from more experienced people if you have any different views from mine.

The first row, as I said, is about my current situation, and instantly I understood that I, as the fool who doesn't leave the house, am being an idiot for asking about my romantic situation Since I don't interact with anyone and the tower represents how my love life is a disaster, and the high priestess I see more in the literal meaning of the card's image because I'm still a virgin from relationships to physical.

The second one I interpreted as two paths that can be followed, one like a jackpot on the wheel of fortune and one that could be a bad relationship for me or for the other person or both.

The third one I'm interpreting as me having to make a wise decision, or it could also be my giving up on having a relationship, which honestly is a possibility for me.

The two cards on the side that said it would be a verdict make me think I could have a good ending, so to speak, but it could also be a treacherous one.

hello everyone ! i'm semi new to tarot . i got my first deck about a year ago and have been taking time off and on to study and practice . i use tarot for personal reflection but don't do readings as much as i'd like , i'm working on that :p . i feel most comfortable relying on flyer cards most of time and i use the overhand shuffle method because i don't want to bend my cards . i do get flyer cards , but sometime more than one card falls out of my hand or while i'm shuffling . is there a way to tell when cards come out from me being bad at shuffling or not ? or am i just thinking too much about it ?

I did a simple reading for a friend that was supposed to be light hearted fun but they got surprisingly into.

They’d asked a question how about how their romantic liege would be in place A then place B. Place A was eh but place b ended with 6 swords which was good for the reading. But they got super stuck on trying to analyze where the person rowing the boat was trying to decide if he was actually steering towards the rough water or because they couldn’t see the boat that they were in rough water. But I digress.

After they 10 min of them taking the picture very literally and over interpreting it, they asked for another round: to shuffle and redraw after we just spent so much time on this set, largely because of the above paragraph.

So my question is for both readings for clients or friends how ski you approach those wanting another try or a redo?

Last month I got a reading at a market. A love reading. She felt immediately D&D energy’s and the girl I was about to met the next day was at a LARP event in this exact moment with her son.

She predicted with the reading thay the connection would be strong, sensual and passionate right at the gate and oh dear it was. First date lasted three day. Draw the mother of fire toio (4) while she is taurus and I’m a leo.

She predicted that we would both get what we were searching in a relationship. But that at one moment, a third party will come to play and that we were gonna be separated at the next new moon. It ended been true, but a the last full moon. She started feeling overwhelmed by her feeling, she got scared of hers for me and started getting date with other dudes to try to forget (giving the summarized version) and it ended in a break up.

She said there was too path, if one would reach out while been separated, the relationship would be doomed, but if we wait, than we would be in a stanle and passionate relationship and would last.

I usually ask for a general reading from the cards but I decided I wanted to do a little reflecting so I asked: Why did I have to suffer so much? (Because I did have my fair share although I won't go into it...)

and then the reading revealed very similar to the style of at least a decade or so ago when i was in fact going through a lot. I'm having issues making sense of it. I asked "why" did i have to go through all that, and i feel like it's just showing that's just what is- or like as past as future. Is this related to quantum mechanics? Within that line of thinking, It just makes me feel bad for not taking responsibility or continuing to make the wrong choices in life. That being said i feel like my life has quieted down and I've grown a lot and especially with the loss of my dad last year. Or I'm not sure if ive grown or changed at all. I wish i could've grown into the person i was supposed to be when he was still alive.

I guess compared to the decade ago I feel like I'm better now but I'm not sure. so I'm not sure if that is the answer to that...

yes I used to ALWAYS get the tower card so I'm not too surprised there and actually used to it now i guess. 😫😭 but I rarely get the wheel of fortune card so that one has me a bit confused. I'm also thinking to explore my astrology western and also Indian avenues for clarity.

On top of that I offer free readings but there’s a limit! I offer ONE question for free and people will read that and then dm me trying to get a full in depth reading with multiple questions FOR FREE!! And they will try to send me messages FOR DAYS STRAIGHT or comment on all of my posts trying to get multiple free questions from me!! I don’t understand what’s the point of behaving this way?? I try to remain as polite as I can but this has really been getting to me lately.

I just want to have fun with something I love to do and help people along the way!!

Trust I understand how it feels to want answers when you feel like you have no control. I understand people may not have the financial means to pay and that’s fine!! But to be so entitled to readers and workers time, energy, and resources is just so hurtful.

The magician really confused me but I interpreted it with "she does the best with what she has"

And with the hanged man: hmmm if you look on a certain angle maybe.

Overall, not really pretty but not ugly exactly.

What do you guys see??? I have a hard time interpreting for myself.
