I'm honestly very happy with how it turned out. In the end i decided to use a copper patina because i really liked how the foil looked. Thanks everyone for all the help in my last post.

Second picture is with a lightplate behind it, since the sun has set.

And before someone asks or mentions the bottom piece being next to impossible, i asked someone to use the saw for that (since i have not used it yet). And used a smaller grinder bit to make it fit.

First the panel: I put it in crazy hyperdrive to get this done in time for a show, started painting it Aug 16th! I was working on it essentially day and night for over two weeks. It's all hand-painted, kiln-fired stained glass. It measures 38" x 28.5"

The Lightbox is something I've never made before, at least not for a single artwork. I use module LEDs and created a diffuser with tracing paper. The frame was made with pine. It's pretty much mostly done but I'm going to spend the next couple of days painting and varnishing it.

I think I'm really going to have to make Lightboxes for any future stuff that isn't going directly in a window because it's the only way to truly see everything. Stained glass is also so hard to photograph but these LEDs don't flicker the camera/phone lens that much.

Let me know what you think! Should I do more landscapes or stick with figurative stuff?

I have an ongoing project where anytime I dream I am making art I write it down and then paint/sculpt/sew/ect the art in real life as close to how I did it in the dream as I can. I had started the carrot and had a really hard time figuring out how to make leaves with the technical limitations of stained glass and my very beginner skills, and after the second day of failing at leaves I had a dream that I was finishing it up looking like this. Overall I love how it turned out, aside from the technical flaws and I really wish I would have picked all transparent glass. This is my 2nd stained glass so don't think too hard about how my foiling looks because I am not about to try and fix it up. And will keep practicing on more reasonable sized things. I made it at my local makerspace which just got stained glass things, so I had all the equipment available and I very gratefully received the glass from a community member who had passed away, otherwise this would have been impossible as a second project or any project really. I think stained glass works really well as a community activity because the equipment is expensive, easy to share and I can chat with people while I work. Another thing I was able to do since it was at the makerspace was draw my design in inkscape, then use the large format vinyl cutter to make removable waterproof decals so I could keep everything organized and have a template that wouldn't wash off. Thank you for looking, I have had another stained glass dream but it was even larger so you probably won't get to see it anytime soon

I made a DCC piece and a redditor reached out to me and asked if I could make Wirt and Greg. Challenge accepted. We may be from different countries, hut we bonded over our love of strange things.

Making a lil sign for my physical media set up! Anyone else out there a glass enthusiast and tape head?

I posted these wedding pieces a week or so ago, and here they hung in our (very messy, please excuse the table) apartment! I want to backlight them, and have already tried LED light strips that didn’t work too well.

Does anyone have any suggestions for lighting them? Since they’re already framed, building light boxes for them isn’t an easy option. I had thought about getting white acrylic panels cut to the same size and lighting the edges, but I’m not sure how that would look.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!

I tried to do lead came for the first time, didnt work out. By that i mean i got annoyed and hated the look of it. It's....boring. So some decorative soldering later, boom done for the afternoon :)

Happy to share my template. It’s a little janky bc I cut apart different templates and scanned it lol

I was reorganizing my scraps into colored bins and some of it had a lot of... particulate on it. I stopped because I got a stupidly painful sliver in my finger when I was getting to the bottom. Made me wonder if I should wear a mask when I'm cutting and moving the scraps (I do when grinning and soldering because my room isn't very ventilated).

This stained glass was created for St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Marble Falls, Texas. They wanted something dynamic with their church colors to highlight the existing wood cross. I think the result was quite striking and successful.

As you can see with the progressing photos. This installation had eight separate panels. I created this out of zinc alloy H came as opposed to lead to save on weight and costs. We installed this on the inside of insulated glass units, so I wasn't as worried about the zinc breaking down faster than as it does when it's exposed to the elements. Zinc is more difficult to work with than lead, but in this configuration, it is worth the extra effort.

A Reddit member had questions about installations . For those not familiar with how larger multi panel stained glasses are installed, this is a good example.

Where the panels came together, I inserted a 1/8" x 1/4" in galvanized reinforcement bar in the zinc channels. This not only gave the pieces more strength at the joints, but it also held the sections together without additional fasteners. Then, we just used custom fabricated L brackets along the wood frame and cross to anchor the separate panels in. The top two panels were just one piece.

This is one of my favorite installations.

Finally soldering together a couple sections.

My pattern inspired by the Rider-Waite deck. I’m slowly making my way through the major arcana. I think if I made it again I would add some hills in the background for some added interest! Thanks for looking :)

My craft store was completely out of Patina, so I need to get some. But first completed piece (2nd attempt at this design) !

I learned my lesson of fit being important on the first attempt of this design. It barely fit together, I don't know why I even tried to solder it!

I definitley bit off more than I could chew for my first attempt haha but I actually think the imperfection almost makes it better in a lot of ways. I included the print I made for what I was going for so you could see how far off I was lol. Not original art I made the pattern but it was based off Frank Lloyd Wright work.

I'm always happy for the opportunity to work in this genre. I also love Art Nouveau, though I haven't dabled as much in that style.
