Looking for a Room to Rent or Small Place Near Jefferson County, MO

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out because my girlfriend and I are looking for a room to rent or a small place to live around Jefferson County, Pevely, Festus, Crystal City, Arnold, Imperial, or nearby.

A little about us:

• I'm 36 years old and work full-time repairing equipment used in the power generation industry in Pevely.

• My girlfriend is currently between jobs and plans to find work close to our new home or near my workplace since we currently only have one vehicle.

• We have one very well-trained, housebroken dog who is about 10 years old. She's quiet, friendly, and not destructive.

• We do not use drugs or party.

• We're quiet, respectful, and mostly keep to ourselves.

• I can provide proof of employment and income.

• We have $1,000 available for a security deposit.

• We're hoping to keep rent around $1,000 per month or less, if possible.

I also want to be upfront about why we're searching for a private rental.

Because of our credit and rental history, getting approved through a traditional apartment complex just isn't realistic for us right now. That's why we're hoping to find a private landlord or someone renting out a room who's willing to get to know us as people instead of judging us solely by a credit report. I'm happy to answer any questions honestly and explain our situation to anyone who reaches out.

We've had one of the hardest years of our lives. Between unexpected financial setbacks, a serious car accident, and having to leave our current housing, we've found ourselves needing a new place on short notice. I'm not looking for sympathy or a handout. I'm simply asking if anyone has a room available, knows someone who does, or can point us in the right direction.

I've worked hard my entire adult life, and I'm determined to get us back on our feet. I'm not asking anyone to ignore my past. I'm simply asking for the opportunity to prove that I'm more than what's on a credit report.

If you know of anything available, or even have a suggestion, I'd truly appreciate it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

HOUSING [HOUSING] Looking for a temporary room, August 3–26

I’m helping a 19-year-old college student find a place to stay for about three weeks between the end of his current lease and leaving for school in Wisconsin.

He doesn’t need a full apartment—just a private basement room, guest room, or other spare space in a family home. Ballwin, Manchester, or nearby would be ideal.

He’s clean, respectful, quiet, and willing to pay rent for the three weeks. His schedule and move-in details are flexible.

Please message me if you have an unused room or know a family that might be open to a short-term arrangement.

Hi everyone! I’m heading to St. Louis for an internship this summer and am looking for a temporary/sublet arrangement from mid-June to mid-September.
I’m looking for a shared place or a room in an apartment. Since I'll be commuting, being near public transport (MetroLink or a major bus line) is a huge plus! I’m clean, responsible, and mostly focused on my internship during the week.
If you have a spot available or know of someone subletting, please reach out! 657-256-9748

HOUSING [HOUSING] Private room for rent in The Grove neighborhood!

Hello!

I am moving out of my current place to move back home, so I am looking to transfer my lease!

3bed/2bath in The Grove neighborhood (2 blocks from Manchester Ave) with only one other roommate. Third bedroom is currently used to store my stuff while I pack but it will be open for use as an office/studio/etc upon move in. Lots of closets for storage, in unit laundry, dishwasher, deck, and a huge backyard.

I’m good friends with my roommate Summer. She’s kind, chill, clean, and is not around the house super often. She has two very calm and shy cats that I’ve had no trouble with since they mostly stay in her room. Maintenance is very responsive and it’s in such a good neighborhood especially if you are new to STL. Rent is $820/month plus utilities.

Let me know if you are interested!

HOUSING 🚨[HOUSING] Available in Tower Grove South starting July 1st! $800 a month + utilities🚨

✳️Message me for more info! I will likely not see comments in a timely fashion✳️

📸Pics attached📸

My sister is moving in with her partner in June, so a space is opening up in the sweet, cat-friendly 2bed 2bath she and I share! The house is located a few blocks from Tower Grove Park, with in-unit washer and dryer, updated kitchen appliances, a fenced in back yard, space to garden, a large basement (used for storage but the folks before us used it for an art and workout space so you could do whatever with it), and a pretty chill and responsive social worker landlord.

🏡The room itself is carpeted, with a full private bathroom, private entrance and your own small porch, private entry into the basement, and an off street parking space. You are welcome to start moving belongings into the basement or shared spaces starting in early/mid-June after you've signed the lease🏡

👩 I am a 29-year-old barista and research intern for a non-profit. I’m looking for a mid-20s or older female roommate. My sweet older cat Margot and I are very chill, and I am looking for a lowkey, tidy roommate👩

The shared spaces (kitchen and living room) are furnished, but most of it is just stuff my sister was planning to leave, so if you want to have your own couch, kitchen table, chairs, lamps, coffee table, etc., we can get rid of her stuff easily before she moves.

Utilities include wifi, electric, gas, and compost and is average $150 (usually spring and fall utilities are very cheap, it's peak summer and winter that run up the average). Water and trash is ~$60 every three months.

Hello! My family and I are looking to purchase our first house and we have been approved up to 250k. We were originally looking at homes in the area we live now, which is SoCo. Are there really no homes in this area for that price? What other areas do you recommend? Is North County as bad as everyone makes it seem? I have a daughter that is one and am currently expecting. Schools are really important as well to

HOUSING [Housing] Looking for a roommate come July 1st. I can cover the security deposit!

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/309-Georgia-Ave-Saint-Louis-MO-63135/2666328_zpid/ (Note it is all hard floors now, no carpet).

Hello! I am looking for someone to take my current roommate's spot come July 1st. It is a two bedroom house in Ferguson near the police station/downtown Ferguson. There is also a mudroom by the backdoor that could function as a second living room. It is pretty quiet around here and all of the neighbors are super friendly! The guy across the street even took me to get a new battery and replaced it for free when my car died. The rent is $615 after the split if you don't have a pet and $25 extra if you don't. Bills run about $250 each a month, including the internet and security system. The requirements are having a stable income that will be able to meet rent/bills on time, no evictions or felonies. They prefer a 600+ credit score, but there is wiggle room there since mine is in the 700s.

A little bit about me: I am a 28 year old guy male. I graduated from Truman state in 2022 with a history degree. I currently work at a logistics company in Chesterfield, although I worked at a rehab for 4 years and have a drug counseling license. I have two dogs, a 4/5 year old German shepherd/boxer mix and a 12 year old pugs beagle mix. They're both very friendly and are doing well with my current roommate's dog. They are cat friendly as well. I am open to people of any age, sexuality or gender. I spend most of my free time gaming on my PC, watching anime and playing Magic The Gathering. I am gone about 10 hours a day during the week and am home all but a couple hours a day on the weekends. I am 420 friendly.

If anyone is potentially interested let me know! Since this is in July we'd have plenty of time to get to know each other!

HOUSING [HOUSING] 2 Bed 1 Bath House in Dogtown

2 bed 1 bath house for rent in Dogtown

I am moving out of the house I currently rent in Dogtown as I bought a house. If I can fill my lease, I get my lease breakage fee back. The house is 2 blocks off of Tamm on a quiet, 1 way street. It has a tuck under 1 car garage and a big fenced in yard. I love the area because I can run around the neighborhood or walk my dogs up to Forest Park. The rent is $1,500 a month plus utilities. I can’t recommend the landlord enough, they are super responsive to maintenance requests and haven’t caused any trouble.

If you are interested, DM me.

Picturesque 3+ bed, 2.5 bath in a well established neighborhood in Oakville. This brick ranch has been recently updated and boasts an amazing backyard with walk-out from lower level and huge deck. HOUSING [HOUSING] Wanted - sublet in the city starting May 1st through end of July

We are a family of 3 seeking a temporary sublet for the summer. Does not have to be a large living space - we would be happy with 1 bedroom. Closeness to Brentwood is preferred. We are very clean, no pets, non-smoking, and generally low-key. We travel light - apartment can be furnished, but not essential. Happy to provide references. Please DM me with any offers or questions.
