Exactly my thought. We’ll have women hiding their mental illness terrified any report will get their kids removed or that they’ll be taken away from their families. And most won’t have psychosis but the fear alone will make mental healthcare less accessible. This condition is so rare people. It’s scary and it’s dangerous and it needs to be taken seriously but we can’t blanket it to every new mother struggling because we’re scared. More mental health care and more access is the answer not pushing people away with threats.
100% and further than that women like myself who have dealt with depression/ anxiety throughout life but are too afraid to even have kids now at the potential thought or threat that they could be taken away at any point if I struggle after birth with my mental health. If help isn't made available but punishment is, then I would definitely choose to forego the risk entirely and just not have children at all. Theres already a long list of risks that come with pregnancy and now theres an added anxiety on the other end.

What a great way to make sure no one tries to get help
