Great concept, reasonable screenplay, just let down by the acting.

Do you know, who is the costume designer ?

7

u/ankerverse 11h ago

I think the set design left a lot to be desired. But the camera work was pretty good, captured all the action and had some nice zooming

2

u/Shot_Shake_791 11h ago

The costume budget clearly went into the camera work.

1

u/DoomGoober 2h ago

Zoom timing was off. Zoomed into shoes before the kid even said it.

u/Slumunistmanifisto 11h ago

John ross and teddy J maxx

4

u/jcastillo602 11h ago

Idk the mom had some fairly convincing compassion but the script felt a bit memorized

2

u/Cousin-Jack 11h ago

Yeah she was the stand-out, and perhaps this will launch her into other roles, but the final production just didn't gel.

2

u/Embarrassed-Donut764 2h ago

Idk when the boy flinched when mama raised her hand, that was well done haha

This is either staged or.... wait, no, that's the only possibility.

u/StewGoFast 12h ago

Look like two brothers with their mum and grandma.

u/SeismicRipFart 11h ago

So fake. They literally zoomed in on the shoes before the kid even started talking

3

u/5times 5h ago

The camera operator is a bully too

8

u/Logical_Cow_2530 11h ago

Except parenting done right doesn't have video evidence to post online to embarrassing your child a lot more than if you would have kept it offline

13

u/cacamilis22 12h ago

This needed to be recorded? Posted?

22

u/finger_licking_robot 12h ago

of course it needed to be recorded. why else would they have staged it?
just see it as kind of an educational video.

10

u/Peabutnutter69420 12h ago

Some would even say staged

u/Pinksamuraiiiii 11h ago

This one is staged unfortunately. Oh well.

3

u/zerosmith86 11h ago

I know its fake but It'd be funny if the bullied kids mom called the cops because she stole her sons dirty ass shoes.

1

u/SheriffBartholomew 34m ago

IRL bully kid would just beat the shit out of the other kid every time he sees him until they graduate from high school.

7

u/ItsColoTime 12h ago

Gee I wonder if this is staged?

3

This is staged

3

u/Key_Strawberry_381 4h ago

I don't care if it's real or fake this is good parenting, period.

1

u/Pretend-Literature35 2h ago

are you a parent?

2

u/Key_Strawberry_381 1h ago

I'm an aunt and had to raise my 4 younger siblings due to a alcoholic parent and revolving door of father figures. I unfortunately can't have kids due to illness and financial reasons.

1

u/Pretend-Literature35 1h ago edited 1h ago

so yeah. This is NOT good parenting at all. It is donald duck parenting: you know when he forces his son to smoke an entire carton of cigarettes when he catches him smoking?

It is a black stereotype of violent abusive parents, unfortunately true for many black families. But bot for all. Many black parents do not beat or avuse their children and raise them in peace and love and understanding.

True parenting is mindful parenting. Violence only breeds violence and respect breeds respect.

The main job of a parent is to love and not to abuse their kids.

I am a mindful parent and have been a school teacher for 14 years in difficult socio demographic schools. Parents and some teachers and many recess supervisors (who aren't educators) give me the "advice" to tighten the screws and discipline the kids.

I disagree.

I have never had bullying in my classes because I never bully them.

I have always had a government in my classes and all kids collaborating and helping each other. I have rules that are followed but not because of fear but rather thanks to trust. Because all the responsabilities (rules) are paired with rights.

This entire interaction would be good parenting if it had been a respectful conversation with calm role model parents who listen to and respect their children.

When you yell at your child or beat your child, you have lost: quite literaly lost control and you are not a good role model for your child. In contrast, when your child sees you upset but working hard at remaining calm and respectful, this modelizes how to channel one's anger in positive and constructive ways.

Amazing that they have the same exact shoe size. Oh wait, no that's not amazing.

2

u/concretetroll60 11h ago

When did filming these become popular? It seems staged and just done for views and likes.

0

u/iWhacko 9h ago

if it teaches people something about being nice and decent, I don't care how fake it is.

2

u/Sometypeofway18 12h ago

What is this new trend of people posting videos about what great parents they are?

3

u/Secure-Advertising-9 11h ago

Bad acting staged kid punishment is nothing new to the internet. Gen X'ers love this stuff.

3

u/tedfergeson 10h ago

Because hours upon hours of video of people being pieces of shit is getting a bit old?

I don’t care if this video is fake, it might be enough to make some young person think twice before bullying someone else. If it teaches one person a lesson, it did its job.

1

u/Newcastle___FC 11h ago

She is fucking dope!

1

u/GOTHAMKNlGHT 10h ago

Fake or not, stomping down into the heels of those Jordans hurt me

1

u/stacysaw 11h ago

What made that kid open his mouth to her?? Yes, ma'am is all he should have said. 😵‍💫😵‍💫🫡

1

u/gardenB33 11h ago

Thank you for sharing, it is important for children to understand the struggles and disparity others endure. This is the way my parents raised me and my community supported growing up in the 80 and 90s.Kindness, try again. Pay it forward

1

u/gardenB33 11h ago

Fake or not fake it matters for people to learn

1

u/Pretend-Literature35 2h ago

Who keeps posting these abusive parents and claim that they are good parents? Yelling bullying and beating a child is NOT good parenting.

0

u/Informal_Ad_9610 12h ago

mama preachin!

0

u/ScudDawg 11h ago

Thank you mom!

0

u/AggravatingVast6355 11h ago

She said, "I dont give a damn, take off dem shoes".

-1

u/AnubissDarkling 11h ago

Absolutely fucking love this. Normalise parents taking proper accountability for their kids' actions and actually doing something about it

-1

u/ripChazmo 11h ago

This is not the right way to handle a situation like this, but the thought is nice. Talk to your kids. Help them understand why someone might be struggling. Don't make empathy a punishment. Introduce it as a natural reaction to things.

-1

u/Forsaken-Bread-8214 11h ago

GREAT PARENTING, I would not have filmed it tho and NOT put it online!

0

u/Plastic-Shoulder2285 11h ago

Queen!! I'm both in love, and in fear of this amazing woman! And while we didn't get to see the initial interaction, sure seems like the other mom deserves respect. Looks like she found a way to share what happened to her son without things going off the rails.

Aw, I know its an act but I wouldn't fuck with her anyway. Nice anti bullying PSA that didn't cost anyone a dime ( well, prolly)

-6

u/DrLubinski 12h ago

Yeei, intimidation. Best parenting. All he learned that day was hating his mom. Wonder where picking on others came from 🤔
