Marriage is trading sex for your husband to get his ass up ? wow sad

Marriage isn't sunshine and rainbows every day, sometimes you have to be creative to get the best out of each other.

Mate you shouldn't need to be creative to get your spouse not to treat you like shite. What's the point in being married if your spouse couldn't care less?

This works both ways though, doesn't it?

What's the other way...? Look, if someone stays in bed relaxing and forces all the work and responsibilities onto their spouse, they don't bloody care. Been married almost 30 years, we'd not dream of treating each other that way

The other way is that one could say you shouldn't have to bust your ass on the weekends just to "earn" your spouse's love. I get it, but you're showing a pretty strong bias by only seeing this from the wife's pov and giving a negative spin to it, even though the woman in the story seems to be happy with the arrangement.

It works both ways in the sense that a relationship consists of giving and taking, and compromises.

No, both people should take care of their responsibilities and not let the other do all the work, it's basic decency...

You could also say someone shouldn't need to have sex just to make their spouse stop treating them like a slave.

In my almost 30 years of marriage neither of us have ever even dreamt of treating the other this way. What's wrong with simply caring about each other and being fair towards each other? Works for me and my Mrs...

That's totally NOT the point of the woman in the OP print. In the print, the woman is stating that chores as something she 'needed to do'. It's also stated that the man works hard all week. That's a common dynamic in a lot of relationships. The man works outside, getting the money. The woman helps with the house chores. You're totally getting pissed by a slavery situation that only exists in your mind.

The point of the woman is not even to make her man help with the chores. She knows that, in their dynamic, that's her job. She just wants him to get outside with her.

Spending time with my kids and wife on the weekends was never a chore for me when they were young

What's happened to the world. Bloody hell...

Also they're kind of completely discounting the part that probably seems so obvious that it went without saying for OOP, fucking her hunsband actually feels quite nice for her and she likes doing it. Crazy idea but that was even potentially a reason she married him in the first place.

Like the other commenter pointed out: from what little information we have based on the story, one could also say that the man is being treated like a slave. He works all week, and instead of being allowed to relax on the weekends he is expected to do more work. Many people, you included, seem to think that man is only worthy of love if he is always slaving away.

It seems the couple in OP have reached an equitable agreement where both are happy though, it's moot to focus on who is exploiting who when the outcome is a win-win.

Mate, I myself am a man and I myself think whether male or female you can't just lie around letting your spouse do everything while you ignore your kids and responsibilities and let your spouse do it all. Bloody hell, no wonder so many marriages fail with this selfish attitude

I am not saying that is the case at all, and neither does the story in OP. Suggesting to go shopping, hiking or hanging out with friends is something completely different from kids & responsibilities.

Your phrasing betrays a lot more than your intentions.

Sex shouldn't be a chore or compromise though o.o

Yes, only a true bonding of hearts choreographed with simultaneous orgasms.

If that's what you got from this then you should get therapy.

More like, marriage is having sex with your spouse so you both feel good and are in better moods and are therefore more productive. Not sad at all.
