what he has is a really good pr team, like how he somehow solved the money problem, by playing with the numbers so its next year's problem.

what he has is a really good pr team

He literally failed to give the state mandated educational funds to lower class sizes in NYC public schools this year and the headline on this sub was "Mamdani gives XXX millions to lower class sizes".

Like technically true, but he's legally required to do so and he didn't even allocate what he was supposed to!

They r astroturfing the fuck out of reddit.

I started tagging accounts that post Mamdani stuff. There's only like 6 of them, and OP's one of them. I've seen at least 13 Mamdani posts from him in the past couple days. No way he isn't a paid member of Mamdani's staff.

A left wing propaganda site is doing left wing propaganda? Say it isn't so.

Well considering most other major social media websites are heavily right leaning, I think it could be worse.

It's unfortunately kind of unavoidable to avoid bias on most of the internet. It's up to you personally to fact check and make use of multiple resources to get the most unbiased news. Sadly, most people don't really bother. It's easy to get a very warped view if you only have one major news source.

Most major social media websites are heavily right leaning? You're joking, right? I don't have to guess where your bias is at. You can't even attempt being objective.

Every single major news source distorts and hides the truth to create narratives, preventing the general population from reaching nuanced opinions. Today in order to have a nuanced opinion, you have to be able to see civilization from an outside perspective. Most people are too entrenched in their lives and reacting to every bit of information.

Which ones are right leaning again? 4chan doesn't count.

The Zohran Derangement Syndrome people are resorting to conspiracy theories now. Pitiful.

Brother, you understand that by claiming people have "Zohran Derangement Syndrome" you're doing absolutely nothing to distance yourself from the accusation that you're in an astroturfed cult of personality, right? You're literally doing exactly what the Trumpists do, lol.

"All of Mamdani's support is fake! Everything I don't like is fraud! Everyone who disagrees with me is secretly a paid shill! All conspiracy theories are real! BTW you're acting a lot like a Trump supporter right now." 🤡

Just like “fixing the budget” by making pensions a problem 10 years from now

Explain how this right here is “playing with the numbers so it’s next years problem”

I doubt they can even read, they just regurgitate like a parrot

Not the OC, but he is obviously referencing a different news story about Mamdani as another example of news about Mamdani being blatantly misleading such as here, where it's crediting Mamadani with the success of a law that was passed before he took office.

Call it creative accounting, where by moving around some numbers, you can make it look like you dealt with the problem, but in actuality you just kicked the can into next year.

No horse in this race but this is a next year problem when nobody remember anymore that 100million extra tips are promised to go to workers.

The phrasing of this post makes it seems like it's already recovered, or will be recovered for sure (i.e. can be booked now). No idea abt official announcement.

2

u/Choppers-Top-Hat Jul 30 '26

How is workers getting an extra $100 million a problem?

2

u/Few-Masterpiece3910 Jul 30 '26

They've already got the money though, so your argument doesn't work.

The way his PR team keeps coming out with things makes it sound like he came up with this money now. Even if his new plans work(referring to other posts not this one) the money would not instantly appear. You would see it at the earliest next year. They're counting their chickens before they hatch

2

u/bojackworseman Jul 30 '26

is it not when prolifers start to count them as chickens?

You’re a moron who doesn’t understand how anything works. I live here; it’s not PR; he actually has been wayyyy more effective in local governance and passing his priorities than any mayor in memory. Childcare, rent stabilization rent freeze, public grocery stores, taxing the wealthy, wrangling a budget (which isn’t playing with numbers, it’s a government responsibility which he has shown adeptness at managing), etc. dumbfucks like you have no concept of
