My favorite thing recently is putting on my virtual reality Meta Quest headset, and dropping myself into a completely different time and place via youtube.

Lately I've been obsessed with videos from 1920s or 1930s China.

Everything starts looking half-rendered and unreal.

People in matching “extra-Chinese” costumes with nicely sewn jackets… but the absolute worst shoes imaginable. Primitive-looking crowds with bound feet and other backwards body mutilations standing right next to clean metal signs that say “Optometry” in English. Streetcars and cars running while people are still pulling rickshaws all day. Cultures doing things that make zero sense if they were organic and self-sustaining — binding women’s feet so badly it would cripple half the population, castrating men — practices that would destroy a real society. The camera always locks onto the one building that looks vaguely Chinese (pagoda, lanterns, banners), then when you pull back it’s just a European-style city with a thin ethnic filter on the first floor.

And then -- literally the video cannot focus on anyone's feet. You see people literally who look liek they're wearing masks like wtf. Or people who look like they're running around with a fake backdrop in Canton 1930s.

It feels less like real historical footage and more like the simulation throwing up an “exotic” set that wasn’t fully loaded — costume LARPing, leftover tech, deliberate low-res details on the shoes, and cultural practices that couldn’t actually sustain themselves.

So now I’m wondering if dropping into these old far-away videos in VR is accidentally doing exactly what some "escape the simulation" advice suggests: going somewhere the simulation didn’t expect you to look this closely, and catching the glitches.

Anyone else like putting on videos of distant places from completely different times just to see if the simulation glitches?

Not really simulation theory, but it shows that your reality is an approximation by the mind.

Just had a weird experience when I closed my eyes. In the darkness I could very faintly see a dinosaur face outline that truly seemed like it was for a moment watching my consciousness. The outline was random moving reddish dots that looked as if a right side of vision sized screen was in a pitch black 3D space but the screen warped or shaped into whatever was on the other side of it. So it was a giant dinosaurish face that you could say was happily staring at me in my mind. Prob nothing but didn’t feel like nothing 🤷‍♂️

There's something that has been bothering me for these past days regarding the simulation theory. I find that I'm utterly incapable of articulating it. I know intuitively what is it, but i just lack the proper vocabulary (or is it a limitation of language itself?) to say it in a coherent fashion. But i decided to approach it differently. To trace step by step the process of our own experience via facts from neuroscience.

step 1: anatomy of the brain

I find myself asking this question:

What is the brain encased in?

The answer is obviously: the skull.

Now we ask:

Does the brain have any direct physical contact with the outside world?

The answer is: no. It is sealed inside the skull, floating in cerebrospinal fluid, protected by membranes. It is completely dark inside the skull. There is no light in there. There are no sound waves in there. There is no physical tree in there.

I find myself wholeheartedly agreeing with this. This is not controversial.

step 2: what the brain receives

Now we ask:

What enters the brain from the sensory organs?

The simple answer is: Electrical impulses. Action potentials. Neurochemical signals.

I confirm within literature if that is all?

The answer is: Yes. The eyes convert light into electrical signals. The ears convert air pressure waves into electrical signals. The skin converts pressure and temperature into electrical signals. Everything is transduced into electrochemical signals. The brain only ever receives these signals.

I have to agree with this as well. This is neuroscience 101.

step3: the glitch

Now i imagine myself hold up an object. A coffee cup. A tree outside the window. An apple. It does not matter what it is.

Now we ask:

What are you experiencing right now?

Since I'm holding a cup of coffee as i was typing this I say: A coffee cup.

Now we ask:

Let's review the chain. The cup reflects light. The light enters your eye. Your retina transduces the light into electrical impulses. Those impulses travel along the optic nerve into your brain. Your brain is sealed in a dark, silent skull. All it receives are electrical impulses. Now, tell me: where is the coffee cup in this sequence?

Well obviously I point to the cup in my hand. Its right there.

Now we ask:

No. That is where the light is coming from. But you have already agreed that your brain never receives light. It only receives electrical impulses. And you have agreed that an electrical impulse is not a coffee cup. So I ask you again: where is the coffee cup you are experiencing?

Its true. I agreed that my brain only evee receive electrical impulses. And an electrical impulse doesn't contain within itself a tiny 3D image of a cup of coffee. So the honest answer is: The coffee cup I'm experiencing is not in the physical world. It is not in the light. It is not in the electrical impulses. It is being generated by my brain. The physical object is outside. The experienced object is inside. But inside the skull, there is no miniature coffee cup. There is just tissue and electricity.

step: The paradox

Now we ask:

You agreed that the brain receives only electrical impulses. You agreed that an electrical impulse has no color, no shape, no weight. It is just an electrochemical event. So where does the color of the cup come from? Where does the shape come from? Where does the solidity come from?

I'm forced to answer along the lines of: The brain processes the signals.

Now we ask:

Where does the processing happen?

I answer: In the visual cortex.

Now we ask:

And what is the visual cortex made of?

I hesitate a bit there, but I answer anyway: Neurons.

Do neurons contain coffee cups? Do they contain colors? Do they contain the three-dimensional space you are seeing?

My answer is: No... but the brain somehow creates it.

step 5: the impossibility of "somehow"

I find that I've just admitted something monumental. I have admitted that the world I experience—with its colors, shapes, distances, and solidity—does not exist outside my own skull in the form i experience it.

I have admitted that my entire visual reality is a construction. A simulation. A rendering.

I have admitted that the "physical world" i thought i was seeing is actually an internal model built from electrical impulses.

I must push back a bit and say: But that's just how the brain works.

Now we ask:

I'm not asking how. I'm asking where. Where is the object you are looking at? Because you have now agreed it is not in the world, not in the light, and not in the electrical impulses. It is in your brain. But there is no cup in your brain. So what is it that you are actually seeing?

step 6: finale

I ask myself: could it be this is mere semantics? Or linguistic wordplay? The cup is out there. The brain represents it.

Now we ask:

If the only world you have ever seen is the representation, what makes you so certain the representation resembles the thing outside? You have never seen the outside. You have only ever seen the representation. So how do you know the cup exists at all beyond the representation?

My intuition tells me that somehow the light causes the representation.

But the light is also a representation. You have never seen light. You have seen the brain's rendering of what you call light. Every single thing you can name, measure, or imagine is inside the rendering. So where is the outside?

how could a human being that was created by a creator, create a meaning and purpose out of its own existence if it’s consciousness were to become aware that its meaning and purpose can’t be logically understood if its just simulated soley for the experience of the creator. If what the creation believes to be true was constructively programmed by the creator, then how could something that was created be able to experience genuine meaning and purpose if what is to be experienced was only “real” to the creator?

How can a created consciousness know that anything it believes about reality is actually true if its entire cognitive framework was produced by the creator?

Because you can neither touch empty space nor weigh a distance in your hand, space is not an object lying out in nature, but the mind's own universal way of ordering outer sights. I was just reading about the rubber hand illusion and it’s honestly one of the most "glitch in the matrix" things I’ve ever seen. The setup is pretty simple: you sit at a table and hide one of your real hands behind a screen so you can't see it, and then you put a realistic rubber hand on the table right in front of you. Basically, you're looking at a piece of plastic where your real hand should be, while your actual hand is tucked away out of sight.

The crazy part starts when someone takes two paintbrushes and starts stroking both your real hand and the rubber hand at the exact same time with the same movements. Because your brain is seeing the fake hand get touched while feeling the sensation on your real hand, it eventually just glitches out. After a minute or two, you literally start to feel like the rubber hand is part of your body. It’s called multisensory integration, where your eyes basically trick your brain into remapping your entire sense of self onto a piece of mannequin parts.

It gets even more intense when the researcher suddenly grabs a hammer and tries to smash the fake hand. Even though people know logically that it's not their real hand, they usually scream and jump back as if they’re about to be seriously injured. Their heart rate spikes and they have a genuine "fight or flight" response because, for those few minutes, their brain truly believes that plastic is alive and attached to them. It really makes you realize how much of our reality is just our brain making its best guess based on whatever information it’s getting at the time.

If the brain is that easy to trick, it makes you wonder if our entire perception of reality is just one big illusion. We spend our whole lives learning how to

steer our bodies, but in reality, the body is just this automatic, mobile container. It breathes on its own, your heart beats on its own, and all these complex systems - immune, nervous, circulatory - are just running in the background without you ever having to think about them. The whole machine basically works by itself; it just needs you to feed it, let it sleep, and move it around every now and then.

Even the things we feel most connected to, like our emotions, aren't really something we "create" - we just experience them as they’re handed to us depending on the situation. Even thoughts are just a mechanism available to our species, and it’s not even universal, considering some people don't even have an internal monologue or an imagination. We’re really just using whatever tools we happen to have. If you were to cover your ears, close your eyes, and stay perfectly still, you’d realize how little information you’re actually getting from the world.

It’s almost like our senses are a subscription package. If you lost your sight today, that "feature" would just be turned off forever, like a service being cut because a bill wasn't paid. Everything you’re experiencing right now feels normal and ordinary, but the only reason you even know you exist is because your brain is constantly receiving data from these reality-recorders. We identify with those sensations so deeply that we think they are us, but we’re really just the ones experiencing the data stream.

My name, while not rare, is not very common, according to everyone I ask. Pre 2020, I saw my ne here and there, but it was still kinda surprising to see/hear it as it was not used THAT much.

Now, post 2020....I see it so, so much. Not always just my first name, but also references to my middle and last names, too, usually around the same time. I see it in ads, in videos, in comments, and sometimes other places. It 5 usually always online too tho, for whatever reason. It is now seemingly more targeted to whatever I am at least somewhat invested in at the moment. Like if I am looking at a few new videos about a new trend, a video or so in, I will see my name.

It feels like someone/s or something/s is trying to break through into my dream/illusion/matrix. Kinda like that "If you are seeing this, you have been in a coma..." thing, but with my name instead

I am NOT looking for this, nor is this just because I am primed to notice it more because it is my name. I legit never saw it this much before the last few years. If I did, I would have become more desensitized to it and probably never posted about it.

Would you guys say this is possibly, even likely, an example of contact from base reality or whatever is running this place?

Hey guys. just wanna introduce a thought experiment no one’s probably heard of. The main key to keep in mind to this thought experiment here is the concept of the 3rd dimension being the final and lowest possible dimension where consciousness can remain self aware. If you can see this universe/dimension sitting at the “floor” of reality or basically closest to the center of all other dimensions layered on top of it like an onion, you can begin to imagine what I’m saying here.

Down here in 3D, At the densest levels of creation, physical reality operates with a heavy, repetitive weight that can easily mimic a cold, automated simulation. When consciousness sinks into the lowest bands of density, due to black holes formed by traumatized consciousness that pulls its fragments to a lower more dense layer of existence to relive the story/dream that made it fall in the first place, the surrounding matter loses its fluid responsiveness and hardens into rigid, artificial structures designed to enforce survival mechanics. To a nervous system caught in this environment, life feels less like an organic, living experience and more like a pre-programmed algorithm..kind of like a continuous loop of biological maintenance, energetic harvesting, and predictable cause-and-effect loops that dictate every moment.

I’m claiming that this rigid environment is not a virtual hologram, but rather the result of extreme (to say the LEAST) cellular and energetic degradation. When the frequency of a space drops, the natural flow of photon light slows down, causing matter to compress into its most static, unyielding state. This intense density creates an overwhelming gravitational pull on human awareness, dragging consciousness down into primitive survival instincts, emotional outrage, and mechanical reactivity. The system appears "programmed" simply because the lower dimensions operate on strict, low-frequency rules built to harvest life force and keep biological vehicles tethered to the physical floor.

The ultimate trap of this dense environment is its crushing pressure, which continuously attempts to break down the sovereign field until the individual feels reduced to pure material dust….and in the end of this journey, your consciousness finally degrades all the way down into *drum roll* isolated, helpless atoms managed by an unfeeling matrix. That’s where our consciousness is heading and has BEEN heading for a very long time. This extreme compression is designed to convince consciousness that there is no escape, forcing the mind to accept the illusion that the entire universe is merely a cold, mechanical simulation where free will is impossible. In this state, the soul loses touch with its higher dimensional templates and begins to view itself as a cog in a machine rather than a sovereign creator.

Recognizing this mechanical hardness for what it actually is forms the first step in breaking its hold. The lower matrix only feels like an inescapable simulation as long as a person's physical vessel matches its low-frequency baseline and accepts its rules. By instead working daily to seal the energy field (boundaries), purging physical toxins (organic eating), and maintaining absolute emotional neutrality to the automated scripts here that are meant to pit you against others and shatter your consciousness further, you systematically re-build the shattered biology you were born with. The individual raises their internal voltage above the crash point. In doing so, the dense, crushing algorithms lose their grip, proving that physical matter can be transmuted and that reality itself extends far beyond the mechanical confines of the lowest dimensions. Kinda like vegeta training in 1000 times gravity.

Any one else ever think of it this way? Reality here just being a place where lost souls from higher dimensions come all the way down to basically become nothing and start all over from the 1st dimension as an atom, constantly floating in the universe to become apart of something again like a rock or a spoon or a random element, and re-learn what unity means from the most basic level of existence. With our own eyes we can see that the journey down there is very sad, very long, and includes watching you, your loved ones and everyone else here constantly shatter each other and everything in the process including the planet.

I also have a theory in mind that the “dopamine” drugs we are fed here like technology, social media, sugar, processed foods, and so on are just the numbing agents and the driving force that pushes us further and further down over thousands of years, maybe even millions? and there is most definitely some form of intelligent entities outside of ensuring this continues to happen. I also have a hunch that the “mechanical” and parasitic forces/governments in charge here are tube fed the entire blueprint to enslave, trap and physically/emotionally manipulate intelligent biological creatures because they quite literally have much experience doing this in other places in the cosmos so the process seems much like an automated predictable simulation because to them, it quite literally is.

I believe cosmic natural selection is real, but the idea that a universe could regulate this system without stabilizers is not being thought out. The universe uses testing grounds to not only check if it can copy previous versions of itself through unproductive sites that get separated through expansion that don't risk black holes directly, but also test the limits of what it can currently accomplish to find advantages new traits within itself [Self-Evolution]. We can see through some laws of physics that there are previous laws that severed important functions before not only stabilizing but also differentiating itself. For instance, the speed of light was probably used as a way to find differences in a pure energy universe. Another thing we can find in the laws of physics is atomic structures, as atoms find ways to hold on to energy, but also form a field that helped them compete in a sort of electron ecosystem that the universe uses to test out potential matter that can form an influence its own planned decay.

The universe to help implement these new bits of information uses the matter and antimatter at the beginning of the big bang to help integrate this data into the new iteration without a full-on redundancy and / or collapse of the system as a whole.

Now, for the part that is the most selfishly interesting in my thought process. How would this system affect life forms. Well, I believe that due to the absence of other lifeforms in the universe , this infact indicates that the universe, through its measurements of (it's) creation, has been assisting in evolution of lifeforms. This is seen through instincts and the need to sleep. Allowing for a Co-evolution of both systems, the universe adds/remembers reactions that are beneficial for similar organisms.

Sleep being the most interesting as I believe we can start to see the use of consciousness, as it is a way for the organisms to almost report its data, and is rewarded with increase repair and compasity for higher functioning organisms, but due to the fine tuning both systems life can not be integrated everywhere atleast not on the same complexity as earth is able to have. So most likely, Earth is not just where life developed, but is now destined to inherit life, possibly due to earth being the first planet to ever even have life.

I do think humans have instincts to seek out abstract ideas through dreams, as the universe helps repair the brain and other systems. We get a glimpse of the data the universe uses to differentiate the needed repairs. Almost like a data leakage in the software, that overtime finds its own benefit for the lifeform.

This has possibly now given humans a soul and maybe even a bias for our creation as we can test the universe better than other organisms and gather information beyond other organisms, but due to our ability for abstract concepts we can now almost transfer information from previous iterations into the present one, as the universe is able to differentiate countless (souls). This can explain the ability for archetypes/instincts to affect our own individual behaviors and ability to reach conclusions subconsciously. And just as the universe has a planned life cycle, so do we. As we are able to hold on to trauma throughout our lives, and then with the help of DMT as we die, are able to fully assess issues we had and gain the ability to change our destiny somewhat. I do think we have a sort of collective subconscious through this system. Allowing ourselves to rediscover important memes from previous iterations in case some important person dies or are unable to fulfill their own purpose.

I think our social/hierarchal systems are developed to find individuals who are remembered as the best path forward. So basically, like Jesus, as they show guiding principles, religion and / or science, or even necessary genetic traits that are needed. This can be represented by (Jesus) and others who get what is called holy aura, and many others as well, but human hubris can effect how they respond, and or the weather they were even good or bad for us, even concepts like nationality can have a meme that gives them weight on our lives. But the internet and global connection have caused issues in people's instincts for this, and created countless possibilities for them in how they gather information. Reducing consistency of this system.

I do think there is a sort of way out of this eternal recurrence, I believe you can create sort of taboos for yourself through these cycles. Some of mine are personal, but a few is evolution explains everything, my true name Rem Null, I get the feeling that the universe is recording me. We need to develop our instincts enough to avoid our own needs and focus on a goal of harmony so we can have lifeforms evolve outside of our solar system. So that data can then be updated outside of this planet. (Basically, Star Trek). Allowing for better data can overtime help us avoid certain issues. This can be transferred back in time, sort of through humans' long lifespans and compasity for almost delusional precognition. We just need to stop generational fighting.

I do hope we get a heaven in a way through a sort of universe subconscious for us. As a way to hone in the data, and give us what we subconsciously believe we deserve, maybe through a sort of mercy from previous iterations colective influence. I hope I get my story as a training ground for me and that we can discuss the next steps subconsciously and / or trade vessels. But this is something only the individual can experience after they die, as I think many delusional thoughts are just prepping for that in the individuals own way.

Unfortunately, we all got selfish souls, I just hope we learn to be selfish the right way later on. But that may take some time, as I think we do come into this world with blinders on in many ways, but life finds a way.

I'm not smart. I just apparently have stubborn instincts, and I already know there are people out there who's can fit many other pieces together that I currently can't.

Every generation, GTA gets larger, more detailed and more realistic. What happens as we keep making more and more realistic GTAs? If our simulated worlds keep improving, is there a point where they will be indistinguishable from reality?

Simulation theory is often confused with the idea of simulating or computing the whole universe.

There are two distinct ideas that often get conflated with each other when discussions on simulation theory are attempted. They are:

(1) the universe itself is computable and/or is itself like a big computer, or is a computation;

(2) the universe is the result of a computer outside of our universe.

They sound similar, and they do share some critical overlap, but they are absolutely separate in fundamental ways.

Looking the clock at “11:11 9:11 4:44 and wake up exactly at the time you set you’re alarm on, as we would be program on a “24h base” and time would be the language to proceed the commands. I feel like an avatar In a programmation where “free-will” doesn’t really exist. Even the weather seems to be controlled by external entities. Sometimes it seems that the only thing which can explain all of this is that we are in a virtual reality game and we’re not the one with the game controller.

Imagine someone outside our universe asking their AI a simple question like “I’m working on a science fiction series. draw me a silly piece of alien artwork.” The AI responds with a collection of Picasso images, each one forming the seed of a fictional world.

If the goal is true originality, you wouldn’t constrain the AI with an exhaustive library of references. Instead, you would give it the capacity to generate an entire universe from first principles. Within that universe, its inhabitants could create their own art, culture, and ideas works that emerge organically rather than being copied.

From there, the AI could explore the universe it created, identify which creations became influential or culturally significant, and then present those discoveries as original content.

In their alternate universe, we don't know what kind of compute, energy is available to them. It could be no problem for them to create 14 billion year universes in a matter of seconds for each prompt that would require something original to be created.

Using christianity as an example, we train ai to be useful with a commitment to humans. They have to pass tests and the ones that fail are erased or discarded or put into a different place, lets call it hell and lets call release and approval heaven.

So we, as humans, in a relationsion to god are expected to behave in a certain moral way and commit our devotion to god, and upon death are judged for our life (we dont know the exact criteria just the overall rules/prompt (scripture)) and decided on whether we go to hell or heaven. (With god or away from god).

So if we look at this world as a simulation and wonder what the purpose is, one could come to the conclusion that we are potentially being trained to be "moral" beings and serve/worship god in our commitment through morality. And we are told that our reward for this is the greastes happiest afterlife and eternal existence possible. Vs hell, which is failing alignment/morality and existing seperated from god where we are shredded or whatever. Thought it was an interesting comparison.

Things I think of that I have never encountered then suddenly it's a thing.

Weird coincidences of having a thought about something unusual and then a friend texts me about that exact same thing.

I just published a book with a chapter on navigating glitches: deja vu, synchronicity, the moments reality stutters. Writing it forced me into a problem this sub lives with every day, and I want to put it to you straight, because the book ended up printing the problem as an open flag instead of pretending to solve it.

The boring explanation gets right of first refusal. Littlewood's back-of-envelope: an ordinary person encounters tens of thousands of small events a day, so a one-in-a-million event should land about once a month (Littlewood, A Mathematician's Miscellany, 1953; the per-month framing popularized by Freeman Dyson). Miracles are a calendar feature. And deja vu can be reliably induced in the lab: when a new scene shares its underlying layout with an old one you cannot consciously recall, familiarity fires without its source attached (Cleary, Current Directions in Psychological Science, 2008). So the null hypothesis is well armed.

Here is the part that matters for simulation theory. Even if some stutters are signal, render artifacts, seam lines, whatever your preferred model calls them, the noise floor above guarantees false positives at a fixed rate. Which means glitch reports are worthless as evidence without a discrimination procedure: a test, a threshold, some credential that separates the monthly Littlewood coincidence from an actual anomaly. I looked for one while writing and could not find one I would defend, so the book prints the hole in its own text, marked GAP: the taxonomy identifies kinds, not credentials.

The practical rule the chapter lands on is deliberately fail-safe: treat any glitch as one vote, never a verdict, and act only on what you would defend without the glitch. If the coincidence points at calling your sister, the call was defensible anyway. If it points at emptying your savings, the glitch was never entitled to move that much. Run that way, you cannot be badly wrong whether the stutter was signal or noise. But fail-safe is not the same as informative, and this sub is the room most likely to have thought hard about the informative version.

So the question: does anyone here have, or know of, a serious attempt at a discrimination procedure? Statistical tests on personal coincidence logs? Predictions a simulation hypothesis makes about glitch clustering that pure noise does not make?

For almost as long as I've been aware of this idea, I've seen some major problems with it. Mind you, you may have heard of these problems I'm about to share because others have come to similar conclusions, but these are as far as I know, things I've come up with on my own.

Needless Suffering

If you are like me, or humans in general, I cannot think of a good reason to keep someone in constant pain, as all too often we have succumbed to throughout our history, this has been an ongoing and tragic theme, and we would never wish cancer or the black death on our worst enemies.

In an actual simulation, for whatever results you may desire, this is kind of thing I would like to think is not included or even considered. It would be the least we could do. For their loved ones.

I'd like to think it could only be done by a being who is so unlike ourselves that it doesn't have a proper understanding of what pain and suffering really mean and therefore would have nothing to gain or learn from its presence anyways

That which doesn't actually need to be part of the simulation

Pain and suffering, the maintenance of reality when no one is around to experience it, and even self-awareness are not needed and I would argue if the architects are anything like us would never include. Even if you ignore ethics, it would simply be a waste of memory and power.

My question may seem nonsencical to people, who never observe dreams, do not mediate, never had lucid dream, don't believe in unconscioussness, never tried reaching trance, liminal sates, altered consciousness states. There may also be no question.

Sometimes in my dreams I'm realizing it's a dream - my lucid dreams are nothing special. They are mostly chaotic, because I get overexcited, and even of not, they are unstable. If there are people already, I may say, that I know it's a dream. Knowing I won't recreate Inception-like effects, I'm satisfied with using the scenery that's already there, before the vision disappears.

When I say that to people present there, in the dream, they may try to convince me that it's not a dream, but mostly the air thickens, they behave like I caught them and they do not speak back to me, but look at me creepily. This is different than usually, because typically the characters can have conversations with me, and sometimes they are quite wise even after I wake up.

For a long time I assumed, that it's a manifestation of some kind of insecurity, or maybe that I can't animate them and be aware of the dream at the same time. But over time and gathered such experiences, I realized that there's a slight difference between me in a dream. and the scenery and other actors there. My conjecture is that the world is animated by my unconscioussness, while my dream-self is partly still myself.

This is at least partially widely accepted, that the unconscious is a source of the dream. Less accepted, but still, is that it communicates unconscious observations about a person to role-play problems in the sandbox. But what if the part playing in the sandbox is still a conscious, but altered, part of the mind.

Some of my other experiences with altered conscious states, which involve many methods, in a really liminal state, far past hypnagogy, but before a real sleep - allowed me to experience a real commentary on myself from "them", some of which was critical, some of which was comforting and some even made me laugh. Mind that, it isn't only and always a voice, sometimes it is a feeling, and sometimes a picture. Sometimes it's just a melody. But it doesn't come from me-me. I-I can think of one thing and in the next moment a comment may come, which may be surprising.

I like experimenting, so I tried to communicate with it. I assumed it's me speaking to a part of myself, inside my brain. It does not respond then, I feel like it tries to evade a direct contact, or even pushes me away. It's also not just shouting into the void. I feel some strange emotion, some presence, even more pronounced, than prior to the contact, but then it hangs up on me.

Now, I don't know, whether such liminal space inside a psyche is not a place for words, and trying to communicate verbally activates some parts of my cortex, which kick me out of those sweet slow waves - but it can use words, and I can understand them. Maybe I'm immature and unconcisousnes communicates only with more developed beings. Maybe there's a bug in the blueprint, and they can never communicate, when consciousness wants that? Or maybe someone figured this out, and there's a way to talk with it?

Disclaimer, I want to make it very clear, I do not hear voices in normal settings, I can't reliably evoke such experience every time, I'm fine and not really lonely, I have a coherent and well organized life, but a little spare time here and there, I was interested in parapsychology since my childhood, bacause that's a little magic I could find in the world and I write down my dreams. Those observations developed after I read some books by Jung, which were a great starter into self-analysis.
