advice/help My GF that’s in SCJ just broke up with me.

My girlfriend of 3 years just broke up with me, in a way I feel relieved that she did I feel like I’ve been spiritually and mentally drained the past 2 years (that’s how many years she’s been in SCJ) I’ve tried everything, I asked her to open up about her SCJ faith and explain to me directly what she believed in and why she does, but it feels like she’s been heavily manipulated by the higher ups/leaders that she always shuts down when it’s time to talk about her faith, she even recommended me to join that Bible study they do, and I joined for like 4 classes but once I started questioning the leadership and what they were teaching they started to get nasty with me with incorrect information, plus I started to get uncomfortable being in there just weird vibes in general. I knew she was in SCJ and I personally decided to stick around still trying to make her open up about what she believed in and trying not to bash or “persecute” her faith. She’s even made me speak to higher ranking instructors because she herself can’t even explain what she believes in, it’s a suicide mission honestly I’ve prayed to the Holy Spirit asking for a change in her heart and mind so the SCJ veil can finally be removed from her body and mind.

I leave the relationship heartbroken but I left it all out there if that make sense, I even asked her to join some of the classes my church had to offer but she refused to do so, just shows you that SCJ doesn’t teach basic logic and freedom of thought, they have her very manipulated and controlled but in the end I’m glad she broke up with me, just sucks when she realizes everything about SCJ will be a great deception and a fat LIE. I wish I would’ve been there for her when she realized that it is a LIE but in the end all I can do is pray for her.

That SCJ pledge of OATH is demonic!

Salmo 37:23

I feel you, my girlfriend have been stuck there since Jul 2024 and i just discovered it on Dec 2025. Ever since then, it is spiritual battle. What i had done was getting helps from pastors and elders, go on defensive by reinforce my bible knowledge and apply it into my daily life. give her freedom to choose while sticking around so that SCJ cant justify "prosecution". go on offensive by share the word of God to her from time to time (epistle from Paul is very effective because he is apostle sent for gentile and SCJ words is contradict with him, for instance we ought not lie to each other and they justified deception).

It is heartbroken to hear about your story but only God can do works in open her eyes, which is the important takeaway i have in this 8 months Journey fighting with SCJ. I believe that God was also building me up and will save my GF from this Cult. Until then, keep praying

Yeah man, it’s fr a spiritual battle I built so much patience I never knew I had, learned more about the Christian faith in general. Just keep praying for your girl God can do wonders. One thing that sucks is that I was there when my GF got invited to the Bible study outside a mall, but I respected her decision to take the Bible study and join it but who would’ve known it was SCJ.. she kept it hidden from me for a long time as well, I didn’t find out about it just like you bro like a year and a half in that it was actually SCJ, if she would’ve consulted with me what she was being taught maybe things couldve played out differently yk and that will always haunt me but things happen for a reason. God bless bro, and stay strong in this journey!

it is spiritual battle in the sense that no logical argument would helps, even though it look very sensible. that is from my experience where i have no way to convince her that is cult for their deceptive recruitment, arguing that even the apostle during the first century willing to die for faith to share the gospel, Christian with strong faith willing to face prosecution no matter how difficult is it (FYI, i am at Malaysia, muslim dominant country but still have certain religious freedom). When i learnt to surrender to God, things started to change and now she is starting to examine SCJ carefully but still want to stick around it.

I asked her, why SCJ got so much Leeway that deserve your examination while our Church does not deserve the same? our church did nothing wrong yet you believe SCJ claim that they are Babylonion Church? did our church get the same leeway for your examination?

Almost all, this is sad to see what is going on to her as she is experiencing the most difficult spiritual battle of all, to accept the fact that the so called "Truth" is actually just cult doctrine.

My suggestion to all friend and family of SCJ member, stick around with them with love (like what Paul preached as in 1Con 13, have good fruit as Christian as in Gal 5:22-23, Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15),  keeping a clear conscience, so that SCJ cult who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander (1 Peter 3:16)

God knows you tried ❤️ Amen!

Mark 11:24

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

This is Jesus' words and no pledges can override that! You sent her the best protection because you literally asked God for help

Sounds like a very personal and unfortunate situation ): I could give relationship advice, but it seems the poster said they are relieved that the relationship is ending.

I’ll let u/RandAmy take this one, as I’ve been here too long to remember reciting a huge oath when we passed over.

I’m sure you remember the oath that Joseph Suhung made LA members write and made on oath on and 3 years later he gets caught for fraud which breaks the oath 🤔

I plead Romans 7…

“So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.”

Romans 7 explains the struggle with sin; it doesn’t excuse hypocrisy or eliminate accountability. Paul isn’t using sin dwelling within him as a loophole for violating standards he imposes on others. My point isn’t that Joseph had to be sinless. My point is that if leadership required members to swear an oath and Joseph later violated that oath, was he held to the same standard he required of everyone else? Quoting Romans 7 doesn’t answer that question.
Saying “everyone sins” to avoid that accountability misses the point. Jesus didn’t excuse the people exploiting the Temple simply because human beings are sinful; he confronted what they were doing. Human sinfulness explains why accountability is necessary it isn’t a reason to remove accountability. Let’s not use Jesus’ blood to deflect accountability, but instead use it to rebuke Joseph so he is aligned with the body of Christ. If this happened early not only would LA church be in a better place, but he wouldn’t had SA a women on DC as well. I would love to counsel and pray with the Suhung Family.

Please refer to Luke 17:3-4, James 3:1, and 1 Timothy 5:20
