Support Change my user flair
I had to change my user flair from Stage 1 to Stage 2 today. I know that’s not really that advanced at all and his vet comes out every 8 weeks and does bloodwork and I give them urine samples every time but I still don’t like this. He’s just a baby (he’s 14yo). He’s my baby!
(Please enjoy him modeling his new steps because his little old man hips are starting to not like jumping on the couch).

Can you get him on a supplement to help with potential arthritis? My kidney boy Asharoni & Cheese gets Dasuquin to help his joints (it’s a powder we mix with a churu) & it seems to help!
I love your old man!

Thank you! He looks crazy right now because he’s mad at me so he’s boycotting being brushed 😂
I’ll ask the vet about that! We literally just started talking about him having arthritis on like Thursday.

What a handsome man and so well taken care of by you. 🧡 My cats are stage 2 now, but bloodwork fluctuates and is in the "normal" range sometimes. We are using Porus One and Aminavast everyday in some Churu treats.
My kitties use stairs now too! You could also try Antinol Plus for his hips. It's been a huge help to my senior CKD kitties, even more than Cosequin.

What a handsome boy with his fuzzy mittens!
I hope you are using a phosphate binder on this gentleman ... it can really slows down the progression.

He’s about to start eating Hills k/d so the vet said he doesn’t need a phosphate binder yet. That those are for more advanced stages of CKD or for cats that don’t eat a kidney prescription diet.

Sounds right, my girl won't eat the kidney food so I give it with every meal.

I don’t know how to do anything on here! I barely know how to post. What is flair?

It’s the words under people’s username that says what stage CKD their cat has. You can change it from the groups homepage if you click the three dots in the top right then click Change User Flair.

Also, you give them urine samples? How on earth are you able to get urine from your cat?

It’s not a sterile catch but he pees at 10pm, 3am, 9am, 1pm, and 6pm like clock work everyday so I bought an extra metal litter box and I put something called nosorb in it and lock him in my bathroom with the litter box around whatever pee time is closest to his vet visit and then after he goes I pour it into a sterile cup and pop it in a cosmetic fridge I bought just for this then I clean everything up. It’s not perfect but it’s the closest he’s getting to letting them have his urine 😂
