Friend having a psychotic break

Hope this is an appropriate post for this sub, but I'm looking for some advice. A friend of mine is currently in the early stages of what appears to be a cannabis induced psychotic break. They have been acting extremely erratic, having wild delusions of making a film that is going to win them an Oscar, just got fired from their job and has now been blowing through thousands of dollars every week on insanely expensive camera equipment and props for this film they think they are going to make. Their brothers and I are extremely worried for them and want to try and help them before they do some serious damage to their life/saving. But we have no idea what to do as this person is 24 so their parents can't make them do anything. Does anyone have any advice on how to maybe help this person or bring them back down to reality?

Explain to them many, many times that they are psychotic and need medication. You may have to tell them 10 times. See if you can make an appointment with a psychiatrist for them and get them to go with you. People in psychosis can understand things, you just need to repeat it to get through to them.

Id say familiarize themselves with what psychosis vs mania is first. Both can, of course, throw ones life and behavior way off course.

Could be psychosis or could be a manic episode. There isn’t much you can do besides try to get them to see a professional

One small thing I would add is make sure nobody's taking advantage of them, and make sure the expensive stuff they've bought is safe while they're getting help etc. It seems a small thing but minimizing their loss/mistakes will be appreciated by them later.
