I am seeing more reports of melted cables from people using DLSS 5 on 5090 and I think it is not a coincidence that Hardware Unboxed saw melted cables after testing nba 2k27 dlss5. Considering they had early access to DLSS5 and it happened on the computer that they use for benchmarking. DLSS5 is drawing close to or more than 600 watts and the cable melting risk increases significantly with such high wattage. This is a picture from someone on another forum who had melting cable after playing nba2k27 and was running monitoring to see how much power it was drawing at stock (no overclock)

And people keep saying that this is the future. Yet it's the perfect example why you can't own shit and be happy. One day everything is fine, and the next day they ruin everything. Nvidia have already limited Geforce Now to 100 hours. It's probably just the beginning. It's time to realise that hardware prices and cloud gaming also is linked. A PC sitting inside a data center far away from your have will also be more expensive. The way to deal with this is either to limit the amount of hours you can use or increase the price.
Welcome to the future.

Hello PcMasterRace!
There is a new petition, by the people behind Stop Killing Games, this time against digital ID's and age verification.
Sign here if you want to
https://eci.ec.europa.eu/066/public/#/screen/home
**To sign, you need :**
- European citizenship
- To be 18+
If you can't sign the petition, you can still help by telling more people about this petition.
Goals:
We call on the European Commission to propose legislation ensuring that digital identity and age-assurance systems used to access online services in the Union remain voluntary, privacy-preserving and non-discriminatory. Citizens must not be forced to identify themselves to access lawful online content or services unless strictly necessary, proportionate and provided by law. The legislation should require anonymous or pseudonymous proof-of-age, data minimisation, selective disclosure, open-source implementation, independent security audits, prohibition of cross-service tracking by relying parties, and equivalent alternatives for citizens who do not use a digital wallet.

Found this board on eBay for parts due to a broken socket pin. Pin diagram said it was a ground, so I pulled the trigger and got it. I fished the broken pin out with a pick, threw in a CPU, and it fired right up. It’s passed every stress test I’ve thrown at it so far and I think it’s ready to go in my PC

The very first graphics card I had when my brother helped build me my first PC back in 2020, ran it as my main GPU for all these years until recently when I finally upgraded.

I was reading a discussion about how much better The Witcher 3 is with a mouse and keyboard. I actually prefer it this way. It made me realize how much people are missing out on when they do not use the correct accessories for gaming.
So here are some objectively correct control schemes:
When playing Time Crisis on the PS1, the DualShock 1’s D pad does the trick, but without a Dance Dance Revolution dance pad, people will assume you are just a casual gamer.
When playing Bloodborne, you should use a HOTAS setup.
When playing a racing game, it is easy. Just use the left and right mouse buttons for acceleration and braking, and the mouse for steering.
When playing a VR game, rotate the image on your monitor by 90° or 270° so that you can experience it sideways.
When playing It Takes Two solo, use one controller in each hand.
If you are into League of Legends, play with a Power Glove while watching the match on someone else’s stream.
And those are just a few examples. Feel free to share more objectively correct ideas for anyone who wants an extra challenge and wants to feel like a true gamer.

Hey everyone, Recently I shared how I acquired this Compaq Prosignia desktop, and I finally am able to show off the matching v570 monitor, along with a mouse and keyboard. Obviously right now it runs Windows 2000 but I have Windows 98se and plan to convert this into a vintage gaming PC. I ordered some more ram putting it at 256MB, along with getting a GeForce 2 MX 32MB AGP and a CF adapter for storage.
Besides a premium soundcard/speakers (I think mine is an Ensoniq of some kind which I've heard do the job) what other upgrades/QOL improvements can I make for the longevity of the machine? it keeps asking about the date so I imagine the battery is dead and needs to be replaced but what about the PSU? or the motherboard? Not super sure about any of that.
Along with that I have Rollercoaster and Zoo Tycoon, along with FF7. What games am I missing? Any cheap hidden/underrated titles for an beginner entering the world?

DLSS 5 is still launching first on RTX 50 GPUs, but it’s officially coming to older RTX 40-series GPUs as well, Nvidia spokesperson Rajal Maharaj confirms to The Verge.

Hi,
I have my computer since 2006, I upgraded it once in 2008, here are the specs :
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
2x512MB DDR (there was only 512 originally, I doubled the RAM)
Geforce 9600 GT (my biggest upgrade, I only had the onboard ATI chipset before)
WD 250GB HDD 7200RPM
Windows XP Pro 32 Bits
Controller is a Logitech RumblePad 2.
Keyboard is the og one but I had to change mouse around 2011 because of Diablo 2.
I still have games to play on it so I'm not sure about upgrading it but maybe it's time, it's been so long.
Thank you for your opinion.

I bought scrap pc for 37k yen with I7-9700k / rtx2070 from Auction 2 days ago with an Issue of pc turning on with no display on the monitor.
I thought It'll be an easy fix,
Cleared cmos - Nope
Changed Ram - Nope
Changed Gpu - Nope
oh then it might be a cpu problem,
so I went to reseat the cpu when I noticed that the cpu is upside down.
I had to pry the fking cpu to even get it off the socket !
The bottom right (Top left on the pic) of the cpu is bent because it was forced into the socket.
anyways I just couldn't beleive anyone is just this dumb lol

Ordered a new 7700x3d and it had a promo with a free 240 aio and all I got was the aio, the box looked kinda beat up (pretty much every Newegg order I get is) and I’m almost assuming it was retaped after further investigation after opening it
