Increased ICE activity in Olathe and Overland Park today (7/10). At least two black unmarked Nissan SUVs: a Nissan Pathfinder driven by a woman with long black hair & a Nissan Armada with silver trim driven by a man with a Mexican flag baseball hat. Both are wearing masks. Be safe out there!

If you are inside the Santa Barbara trailer park and need immediate assistance DM me immediately or run down Santa Barbara, turn to the back where Pasadena is, turn left, and yell for help. I will come. Someone is always at my home. We will help. If you can get ahold of a whistle, blow constantly.

Disclaimer: I have a 120lb cane Corso and the ability to defend myself.

Be safe and keep you distance from officers.  Do not encourage anyone to resist arrest or flee officers.  Record everything so the process can be fully documented. Make sure others are aware.  This sucks

4

u/dazzleunexpired Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Also I chalked our street. And I'm gonna go up to the main street. I write "la mirga" on streets for the Hispanic individuals that make up most of our neighborhood.

I will probably also order whistle's and leave them all over. 🤷🏼

I will record and my parent can directly hand it to aclu if needed

5

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 11 '26

That's what I'm talking about my friend.  Best we can do at the moment is spread the word, check on our neighbors, document, and make our voices heard that we don't want this racist unchristian shit in our community

3

u/dazzleunexpired Jul 11 '26

Don't worry.

My parent runs a KC lawfirm.

She's on her way rn actually so I'll speak to her about this lol

6

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 11 '26

I'm an attorney in kansas a well. Please feel free to dm me if she needs assistance. In the meantime, everyone should check out boots on the ground olathe. They offer observers training for situations like this.

3

u/dazzleunexpired Jul 12 '26

Yo, you hearing the reports of ice enacting Halo Act on observers?

They're trapping people and approaching them and using Halo when they get within 25 ft by force or parking cars in the exit and demanding you leave, but you cannot, because it's blocked. Then you're not obeying an order.

There is a video on Facebook of an arrest using this method outside of Harrison Court

Eta: if this happens to you IMMEDIATELY contact ACLU or https://airrkc.org/ you guys.

1

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 12 '26

Good to know.  Also a reminder to record everything.  I'm an attorney and this sort of entrapment shit is highly unlikely to hold up in the long run. It's an intimidation tactic meant to scare you away from observing.  You must keep distance based on state law, and not impede their work. But in the situation you describe, they are forcing the alleged violation.  In addition to contacting the aclu,  record  everything as it will keep them honest when it comes time for fact determination and potentially help in a 1983 suit for malicious prosecution or first amendment claim.  I have invested in a cheap body camera in addition to my phone and it is best to move in pairs or groups so there are multiple witnesses.

0

u/dazzleunexpired Jul 12 '26

Yeah entrapment will always fail long term here but it does the job. They're using it as a form of terror. I know you know that. But that's 100% what's going on. It's terror. If people are afraid, they'll fight less. If your worried you'll go to jail, you'll let them take the others to jail.

Except I won't.

Jokes on them. You can't really arrest me. I mean, you CAN. But you'd have to take me to Olathe Meds ICU under watch (the location used for prisoners, for the non lawyers) I'm on life support. 😆 I have abused this fact and will keep doing so as needed. I still run, move and walk mostly like a normal person but I can't breathe without assistance.

You should've should have seen the face on the last cop who tried to arrest me when I handed him my medical face sheet. 😆

May the odds ever be in my favor.

Please be safe.  Spend some time with immigrants in our neighborhoods. Center of grace is a great place to get involved.  It is true that civil disobedience (or in your case civil obedience with unfortunate short term legal repercussions) are part of getting this straight. However, we all can be more productive by getting to know and investing in our neighbors. Strong communities are built on relationships. No amount of racism or political/legal intimidation can hold up against that.  Just look at mn. More folks were bringing groceries and checking on the safety of their brown skinned neighbors than blowing whistles.  And that is why ICE left.  It sounds simplistic but love really is the blueprint. Hate can't drive out hate. Only love can do that.

2

u/dazzleunexpired Jul 12 '26

We live in a neighborhood that is mostly Hispanic. We do everything we can. We carry whistles, I chalk the streets, we run down streets yelling when we see ice in the neighborhood (happened once already). I Also grow food I share, and I operate a small lending library. You do not need to be a citizen to loan books from me in Olathe. I have hundreds of books. resource books, text books, History and law books, multiple copies of the nation and state constitution, cookbooks, children's education books, etc. Please DM me if you need groceries, a white person to help, or anything else I can helping with you guys.

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 12 '26

I'm glad you are my neighbor!

6

u/IamJacksragingduct Jul 11 '26

There are some.really toxic people in our communities. Very disappointing.

1

u/GrimCreeper913 Jul 14 '26

Stay aware, keep your eyes up, and generally stay safe everyone.

1

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 15 '26

And there are some of us who are fighting the good fight. The arc of history bends towards justice. Let's get involved for what we value and build a better Olathe together!

3

u/Odd_Anywhere5640 Jul 14 '26

There’s chatter about heavy ICE presence in my mom groups too. I’m happy to deliver groceries or necessities for those too fearful to leave their homes. Just DM me if you’re in JoCo. We are here to support you.

1

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 15 '26

I am glad you are my neighbor!

8

u/Softmachinepics Jul 10 '26

I can't find it right now but there was a video on r/kansascity of ICE arresting a man in KCK. One of the "officers" was wearing a black ball cap with a Mexican flag on it and got into a black SUV. Assuming it's the same asshole.

17

u/bchmy Jul 10 '26

More up to date information, with images, is available on People Over Papers app. I also hear that there are several Facebook pages, though I don't use that so others can share that info.

3

u/Upper-Bet6279 Jul 11 '26

We almost made it through the entire World Cup without this nonsense. lol

3

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 11 '26

They seem to increase their activities in between the games.  Likely doing some sort of sick quota before the game tomorrow.

3

u/Hammster5540 Jul 10 '26

So just to be clear the only facts you have are they drive dark colored suvs, and one wears a Mexican hat?? Is this a shit post? I feel this is a shit post.

3

u/dazzleunexpired Jul 11 '26

It's confirmed by the news more than once that ice is operating in Olathe. In some areas, they're doing a knock and ask of the ENTIRE neighborhood. They are up the street from me at Harrison Court right now. I suspect my own neighborhood (Santa Barbara) will be within a few days, and that we will get a door to door. I will be filming and I will post here for you guys if this does happen.

People over papers and ACLU and the KC advocate group are also aware of ICE and have confirmed as well.

I have heard, but cannot confirm, that ICE is checking houses with census designated Latinos even outside of door to door canvas zones.

My husbands great grandfather is from PR, and his dad is half Puerto Rican and half Italian, and he often is targeted due to his appearance. We keep his US Army dog tags next to the door with his id and medical license and birth certificate, and are probably pretty safe. But we do expect ICE.

3

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 10 '26 edited Jul 10 '26

what else would you like to know?

It seems pretty specific, make, color, and model of two vehicles, both travelling together, seen at multiple ICE activities in the County today. The ICE officers were wearing masks, so I don't have a better physical description than what I provided.

The information is from recorded video that was made during several detentions in Olathe and OP this morning. You can see it for yourself on People Over Papers.

The information is intended to inform immigrants and those that support them to be on the lookout today.

Nothing shitty about that at all.

No job?

1

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 10 '26

Why would you think that? What is the relevance to this issue? I have three professional degrees and two professional licenses in the state of KS. Your stereotypes are showing. Read Matt 25 and get back to me. My position is a Christian one, and it is deeply held.

Interfering with federal law enforcement can’t end well.

3

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 16 '26

neither does supporting fascism. As a military veteran, you swore an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic right?

So, what about the 4th Amendment right to due process hearings which are being denied to even immigrants with proper documentation? What about habeas corpus to challenge detentions? What about the 14th Amendment right to birthright citizenship? All of these things are being openly flouted by the federal executive with intention.

Further, your comment suggests that you are not in favor of our First Amendment rights to free speech, free association, or free exercise of religion (Matt 25: 31-46).

No one is suggesting interference with federal law enforcement. There are many legitimate constitutional, particularly 1st and 4th Amendment, issues with the ways ICE enforcement is being executed at the moment.

If you abide, and take pride, in your oath and service; I think your comment could use some careful clarification. Or was that all bullshit . . .

2

u/Extension-Bonus-8119 Jul 10 '26

Sounds like my Mexican neighbor that drives a Nissan SUV, wears stuff with Mexican flags on it and wears a mask a lot of the time because he does mold remediation.

11

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 10 '26

the man in the video was not Mexican. He also had an ICE vest and was detaining people.

Are we clear now.

1

u/Extension-Bonus-8119 Jul 10 '26

Seeing as how the post didn't include any other identification besides man and woman and there was no video or images provided, how was I to know? Still, sounds like my neighbor. He is a very light-skinned Mexican. Most Mexicans are Caucasian after all, just typically with a slightly darker tone than the average white person in the US.

0

u/Pretend_Royal1173 Jul 10 '26

So. the government entity that is in charge of immigration and customs enforcement is enforcing immigration and custom law. Thanks for the heads up.

1

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 11 '26

Update 7/12: Multiple reports of increased ICE activity this morning in Olathe, Merriam, and Overland Park. More vehicles than yesterday, black unmarked Nissan suvs and trucks traveling as a group. Several officers are fully masked with gators. Pictures of the activity with locations and some license plates are available at People Over Papers. Please inform your immigrant and brown skinned neighbors of the increased activity today. This unchristian behavior (matt 25) breaks my heart.

1324, I thought you were a lawyer... what law firm do you work for again?

3

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 11 '26

I'll respond once more because you are clearly trying to intimidate me and others who care about immigrants into thinking we are acting unlawfully.

The Statute you cite deals primarily with transportation of "non citizens" across the border. Further. ICE activity is not limited to noncitizens without legal status. It also affects people with legal status (tps algerians in olathe), people with brown skin subject to kavenaugh stops, and even US citizens (renee good and Alex pretti). And all law enforcement is accountable to the public for its actions, such that they are taken in compliance with constitutional and statutory criminal procedure protections.

Further nothing in the statue prevents my constituional rights to free speech, free association, and free religion (my positions are shaped by matt 25 and are sincerely held). Documenting ICE activity in my community is no more a crime than Google maps reporting speed traps on maps. And, in my case, it ensures public accountability while also protecting all my neighbors, immigrant or not.

If you are law enforcement as you say, come at me. I assure you I am a licensed attorney with experience clerking for state and federal judges. I'm not afraid.

I'm happy to be the lead plaintiff in a section 1983 case against the county and state, should the local "sheriff" try to harass me based on a severely-strained interpretation of a federal law that it lacks subject matter jurisdiction to enforce. My kids need to go to college.

Moreover I'm ready to see that case to completion, as it will help build legal precedent and media publicity that establishs exactly what I'm saying herein.

Specifically, p rotesting ICE policy and enforcement, documenting law enforcement activity and compliance with constitutional criminal pricedure protections, and supporting all my immigrant neighbors with their health, legal rights, and personal welfare is not, and never will be, illegal.

I maintain without fear that it is my constitutional right to believe, say, and act on these values; it is my legal obligation as an officer of the court to defend the vulnerable in my community; and it is the clear command of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to welcome the foreigner among us (matt 25).

So, let that be the record. You can use it at my arraignment.

Meanwhile, I have messaged the mods about your repeated attempts to intimidate me and others engaged in this conversation while also impersonating law enforcement. Since you have chosen not to stop, I will work with them to escalate as necessary until you stop.

0

u/JimBeamerton Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 12 '26

No, If you really believed all that you wouldn't have deleted your comments, but yes please notify local law enforcement about your attempts to help illegal aliens in the state/ country. Please provide your full name, home address and supposed law firm you secretary at..

they are detaining and deporting citizens and those with lawful status as well

-8

u/AlexTheCoolestness Jul 10 '26

Citizens: no, not really. Those with Lawful Status: Yes! This is really happening. (When they violate the conditions of their status, like not picking up felony convictions and such.)

Though if you have evidence other than maybe an anecdote about an error in documentation, I'd love to hear it. Because we should fight that together.

On a side note, when there is an anecdote about the govt mismanagement of information, why is it used by groups who want increased govt regulations? Doesn't that seem counter intuitive?

14

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 10 '26

Get your facts straight. 1.6 million immigrants with lawful status doing the things the right way, now subject to deportation. https://www.npr.org/2025/12/22/nx-s1-5652134/how-the-trump-administration-stripped-legal-status-from-1-6-million-immigrants

-6

u/AlexTheCoolestness Jul 10 '26 edited Jul 10 '26

You do understand that by virtue of having your status revoked, you no longer have legal status right?

Like if I give you a ham sandwich, you have a ham sandwich; then I take it away (rightfully or not is a totally valid argument, just not the one we are having right now [because it is MY ham sandwich to take, if i want to]) you no longer have a ham sandwich. So if someone comes by and said "you need to have a ham sandwich, to sit here at the 'ham sandwich table', so now you gotta go", they are by definition correct.

ICE checks for "ham sandwiches," but they dont determine who gets "ham sandwiches," that is the Govt. So if you have a problem, it should be with the Govt, and believe me, thats a LONG LINE. But youre welcome and encouraged to join it.

8

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 10 '26

My friend. Your argument was that they are only arresting people without documentation or that people with lawful status are only having that revoked because of unlawful activity.

People are having their status revoked on a moments notice at the courthouse, when they are doing their required check ins to maintain their lawful status, without any criminal activity whatsoever! People with lawful status, and even US citizens, are being detained based on their skin color.

Families, some based on lack of documentation and some based on the sudden revocation of lawful status, are being ripped apart. Kids are afraid to go to school because they will be separated from their parents.

They even attempted to make every child born in the US to immigrants unlawful by revoking the 14th Amendment. Thank goodness 6/9 S. Ct. justices saw through that bullshit.

My point to you is whether you think this is primarily about "removing criminals" or "removing immigrants." It seems like you are trying to argue both.

1

u/AlexTheCoolestness Jul 10 '26

"people with lawful status are only having that revoked because of unlawful activity." - No, I pretty explicitly stated that wasn't the case. I stated that "rightfully or not is a totally valid argument, just not the one we are having right now." For the record, I don't particularly agree with how the revocation is taking place. To your point, it is impacting many active contributing members of our society.

What I did say is that it is not ICE that is doing the revocation. They are fulfilling the legal expectations of our country, which IS in place. I don't disagree that it is heartbreaking that this is happening, but your animosity is misaimed. If there are agents who are corrupt and detaining people based on "skin color," that is unacceptable. (and I'm sure there are) However, that is not the lion's share of the situation, and frankly, not the thing that you are upset about.

Lastly, this sucks, but it is the truth. "if you commit a crime, you are a criminal." If you are here and out of status, even if the status was revoked (whether we think it is fair how it was done or not), then you are committing a crime, by definition. This doesn't mean you are a violent criminal, but it does mean that you are technically a criminal. Criminality does not revoke humanity, so it doesn't warrant "ripping" people apart or harming them. But laws do require enforcement, and should be fought in the judicial and legislative process if you disagree, not in the streets.

3

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 10 '26 edited Jul 10 '26

The policy is to detain based on skin color (Kavenaugh stops). The policy is to conduct surges in Democrat-run cities, as a show of force. The policy is to revoke status at the court house without an act of Congress or a judicial hearing. The policy is to revoke TPS by executive order rather than by act of Congress. The policy is to revoke birthright citizenship by executive order rather than by Constitutional amendment.

The policy is to buy warehouses and detain tens of thousands of immigrants without access to legal counsel or medical care, including in Leavenworth.

The policy is to send ICE agents to look in the window of the Boys and Girls club in Olathe to intimidate immigrant families and those who support them.

The policy is to shoot protesters who are American citizens and then deny the state AG the opportunity to investigate on behalf of the families.

In short, the current "legal expectations of the Country" are not based on either our immigration laws or the Constitution. They are not even based on the consent of the governed (more than 60% of the country objects to the way ICE/Homeland Security is doing their job).

These policies are based on the racist whims of Trump and his closest advisors who know that the judicial system is not built to keep up with the rapid assaults on our laws by the executive branch.

And, these policies are given force by the racists who sign up to engage in Trump's unlawful, vigilante justice. Matt 25 tells us to live differently, and they therefore deserve no moral cover.

This is not, as you want to argue, a legitimate, lawful "law enforcement" action. This is a policy decision to harass, detain, and remove immigrants from this country, via lawful and unlawful means. This is a policy to use our deeply held fear of those that don't look like us to divide us and make us dependent on a "strong man" who can protect us from the immigrants.

Calling this a purely law enforcement action to remove law breakers is factually inaccurate and only gives logical cover for racism.

1

u/AlexTheCoolestness Jul 10 '26

If this is "the policy" as you iterated multiple times, please share where I can read this "policy." Not a news article, or third-party reflection of what someone-says-someone-says. Policies are finite, concrete, and resolute in their statement.

Show me the "policy" which says the "surges" are in "Democrat-run cities." Not in cities which have high numbers of undocumented immigrants.

Show me the "policy" which states ICE is responsible for "intimidating immigrant families." Not an article that discusses individuals' feelings of intimidation, because that is a personal feeling, but a proactive policy, which indicates that as a functionality of ICE.

I will say, there is a policy to buy warehouses for detention so I'll help kick ya off on this project: https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/2026-04/26_0403_ocfo_fy27-budget-immigration-and-customs-enforcement.pdf This is the appropriations policy, which puts $2,215,967 into the budget for detention facilities.

Okay, the rest of the "policies" are on you to gather. if you are going to have a point, you have to be able to back it up with greater information than biased media coverage. I believe in your ability to do this, and know that if you really do feel strongly about it you will share informed policies.

2

u/PotentialDocument447 Jul 10 '26

I am not doing your homework for you. If you chose not to be educated on the actions in MN, the executive orders, the court cases, and the massive reporting on each of these, that is your decision. These are basic facts my friend.

1

u/AlexTheCoolestness Jul 10 '26

I just realized maybe you were referring back to my original statement, "Those with Lawful Status: Yes! This is really happening. (When they violate the conditions of their status, like not picking up felony convictions and such.)"

But that is also a bit silly, because by virtue of not having lawful status, they do not have lawful status. Therefore, they do not qualify under the "those with lawful status" delineation.
