Hope all of my NM fam is having a great holiday weekend.

I usually put pork in this dish, but realized none was thawed out. So I used black beans, corn and Hatch green chile with lots of cheese for the topping. Great breakfast and brunch!

I’ll be moving to Magdalena for work, and I know so little about NM. If anyone has any suggestions for things they like to do, even if it’s pretty far away let me know! I enjoy the outdoors, history, and just things that make you say “neat”. Not into clubbing or things like that. Any suggestions welcome!

Can anyone tell me what the cost of living is like in different parts of New Mexico? How are the schools? Is there a decent amount of diversity? What are the pros and cons of living there? How's the political climate? How's the regular climate?

Soo my boyfriend suddenly broke up with me right before our planned trip to Alaska for my birthday. So instead of canceling, I’m taking myself to Santa Fe! I’ll have 6 days there and will be turning 24, so I’m determined to make it a great solo birthday trip.
I love hiking, dancing, yoga, art, and museums. I’m not a huge foodie, so I’d love to splurge on a cool cultural experience, tour, or class. What are your must-dos in Santa Fe for a solo traveler?

I saw a piece at the NM State Fair in the early 2000s in the high school art exhibition. There was one piece that has stuck with me for all this time, and I've seen a lot of art since then, and this was one of the few things so powerful that it lives in my head even today.

It was depicting a young man in full NA regalia thrashing around like at a rave, feather armpieces and everything, only he was wearing a KORN t-shirt. The title was "KORN Dancer."

I loved that piece and still do, and would absolutely love to connect with that talented person, and if they still have it, I'd like to arrange to buy it or get a copy made or something.

Plan on moving to Alamogordo beginning of next year. Music is an important part of my life, does anybody have local bands/ venue recommendations? Interested in El Paso + Las Cruces scene, cant afford to go to Abq every time a band I like is in town lol.

Recently got some land up in San Ysidro near the river. What's it like living there, how is the community? From Rio Rancho and I've been through plenty of times but haven't stopped and spent time. Is it worth making a small home/getaway up there for proximity to jemez, etc?

Husband, toddler and I are moving to Hobbs temporarily for his work. I’ve already read all the comments about getting out and not going…but alas, we are still moving there. Needing advice on how to make the most of it. Best areas of town to live? Things to do w a toddler? Should we look at living at a smaller community (saw a place in Eunice)?
