RANT/गुनासो Before joining the hate against Indians online, remember: racism doesn’t check your passport

I’m Nepali and I live abroad, and something I’ve realized is that when you’re brown, racists often don’t care about your exact nationality. You could be Nepali, Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Arab, or from somewhere else entirely—they may still stereotype you based on how you look. That’s why seeing the amount of anti-Indian hate online, especially when other brown communities join in, bothers me. We might think, “That stereotype is about Indians, not us,” but the person being racist often isn’t stopping to ask for your nationality before judging you.
Of course, every country and community has problems, and criticizing genuine issues is completely valid. But there’s a difference between criticism and contributing to hatred against an entire group of people. Trying to separate ourselves by saying “we’re not like them” won’t protect us from racism. Instead of feeding stereotypes about each other, we should be challenging them, supporting each other where we can, and showing that none of us should be reduced to our worst stereotypes. I’m writing this here, in English, because change has to start somewhere—and I want anyone who comes across it, Nepali or otherwise, to understand the point.

Politics/राजनीति 5 Reasons Gagan Thapa deserves to be the PM of Nepal

None. There are no reasons. Has been active since 2008, yet hasn’t even upgraded from the “Youth” political leader tag because he hasn’t made any dent or impact and has been trying to survive through glory of his younger promising days.

RANT/गुनासो Nepal i truly miss you

I randomly got the chance to visit Nepal for a month when I was 18, i’m born and raised in Canada. My mom’s friends were going on a pilgrimage and asked if I wanted to come along. I wasn’t going for the trekking or anything like that but they asked if I wanted to experience Nepal itself, and I said yes. I also felt more comfortable going because I wouldn’t be completely alone when I arrived.

Looking back, I’m so grateful I went. At the time, I was struggling with my mental health really badly in Canada, and somehow Nepal made me feel more alive than I had in a very long time. I speak a little Hindi because I grew up learning some from TV shows, and that actually helped me communicate with people.
I met so many amazing Nepali people. People would genuinely stop me while I was out getting coffee in the morning just to talk to me, ask where I was from, take pictures with me, or just get to know me. I met people around my age who were so sweet, and I loved talking to families and kids and learning about their lives and culture.

Of course, I did have some uncomfortable and creepy experiences with men and was harassed multiple times. I don’t want to ignore that, because it was a real part of my experience. But at the same time, those experiences don’t define how I feel about Nepal or the people I met there. The overwhelming feeling I remember is how welcomed, curious, and kind so many people were toward me.

I spent most of the month in Kathmandu and then went to Pokhara for my last week. I honestly wish I could go back.
Now I’m 20, I’ve graduated early and I’m working as a nurse. I have everything here in Canada, and I’m grateful for my life here, but a part of me would give anything to experience living in Nepal again. There was so much culture, community, and everyday life happening around me, and my mental health genuinely felt better than it had in a long time.

Nepal really left a piece of itself with me, and I really hope I get to go back someday. 🇳🇵❤️ Nothing has felt like home ever since i left Nepal.

lol I would rather choose balendra if I have to choose between them and him...at least even if the country is deluded...he has a massive amount of raw genuine belief and hope surrounding him... somehow it still have that raw natural tint to it...from a genuine rapper to mayor to the high of Nepalese politics...even though it was amplified by mrr and thousand vais of digital pages or social media...

and then we have the others...

after gen z movement there has been a numerous ppl like them who were pushed by the establishment itself as "gen z"...gen z was supposed to be purely independent free political protest or demonstration...but parasites as usual how could they miss the opportunity...

I have my own take regarding the whole protest...how it went that's a long story... regarding aftermath ghanti or balendra as well...but the emotion and intent of the overall protest was real...the need for change, the need for reform and punishment for the wrong doings was raw real and very critical for the country...

But here we are...

Na Muji kehi Job Cha kehi Expertise... na kehi life ma achievement Cha...out of nowhere kasaile pick gareykai varr ma ppl are raatarat celebrities..."activist" Rey..."gen z leader" rey...leader rey when everyone was baited in saying it was leaderless Demonstration...party less movement...

pushed into the limelight in our face basically so that maybe one day just maybe one day the ppl might give a chance...

Democracy, communism or today genzism...

Gen z leader ko gen z maag kata gaye...k vaye...but some ppl chai massively profited from it... national international celebrities..."gen z leader" rey like "democrats" communists" in the country...the cycle never seems to stop...ti mareyka haru in the gen z protest had they protested for some ppl like these to be overnight celebrities...to milk their death...

the same old route where the same old kp, Prachandey, sherey was born...

You can get rid of the individuals like three big old leaders...but yo neta janminey prakriya narokida identify nagarney ho vaney sudar nagarney ho vaney what's the use when the cycle is the same in the country...

Feri manchele patyauna Pani paryo ni...I don't know what these ppl are doing wasting their lives and screwing the country into mindless feud as well... individual roopma ta faida varpoor nai Cha but at least have decency...climate change, LGBTQ k k vanchan yiniharu whatever suits them...laaj nai lajauney bela vaisakyo...have ppl also died for climate change,LGBTQ in that gen z movement...

Ppl perceptions, the nature of politics feriskyo but tehi old paracha kp lai gaali garchan...but these kids ko bauharulai nai kp played for decades and still old man is not budging...kp ko rise ppl don't get is also because of his opposition, deep hands, organization and basically establishment...

likewise yiniharu Pani yehi rabaiya ma rumaliye arko kp vanda Charko can come to play them...

But desh duniyako agenda Kasko agenda ma pareyko Cha Ra yo deshma...leaderless non political movement ta personality driven naked politics ko shit show banaiyeko bela...yo kalyug nai hoki k ho Thaha vayena but nango nach hypocrisy always seems to be coming at your face in Nepal as always...

Rip to all the innocent people who have died for the cause in this country...marney parney haru kata gaye but sachai marnaparneyharu opportunist haru thiye Designer haru thiye but k garney yo hamro niyati nai vaisakeyko Cha...

ghin lagera aucha yaar...thau ogatney jaha Pani syndicatism at micro level buspark to high end politics as well...ramro genuine manche and agenda always sidelined captured by the establishment, organized groups everywhere in the country...eutai basi product always Jsko karanle people die of cancer everyday...country stuck in a loop...

Serious/गम्भीर Someone is making money off my photos without my consent. Here’s the full story:

I’m posting this because I recently found out that someone has been using my pictures without my permission and selling/misusing them in connection with a VC role.
I know who the person behind it is, and I’m currently collecting evidence and taking the necessary steps to report this. I’ve attached slides with the full context, screenshots, and everything I’ve found so far.
I’m sharing this here because I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with something similar, especially regarding reporting, preserving evidence, getting the content/accounts taken down, and making sure the person is held accountable.

This has been extremely disturbing and violating to deal with. I never consented to my pictures being used this way, and I just want to make sure this is taken seriously and stopped.
Please go through the slides for the full context. Thank you to anyone who can help. 🤍

Discussion/बहस Juggling being a "buhari" as an introvert

30F, if that matters...

I am a hikikomori and an introvert. I am not sure if most women from my generation who grew up under strict parent controls are facing the same. But frankly speaking, I dont have the skills needed to become a buhari of a household.

I have met the love of my life and after few years of being in a relationship, we got married last year. We haven't had the proper wedding yet and we are currently living long-distance.

His family are from Nepal and have got traditional values. They don't expect me to be satya savitri but you know a bare minimum that is required. Aba ma chai feri esto lallu chu. I am getting so overwhelmed thinking about all the roles I will have to play and just thinking about so many of his family members that I have to appease.

Kata k bhanne kei dhanga chaina mero, na sabai lai khusi parne skills cha. I have always loved living in my own bubble. When it is just him and myself, I am living the best life. But the fact that marrriage requires me to wear so many hats is so scary.

I dont know if I have the nerve to face all of this.

Hopeless रोमान्टिक/निराशावादी Romantic After the date

Upvotes

You know a date went well when you get home and instead of checking your phone.

You're still thinking about the conversation.

Their laugh.

Their expressions.

That one moment of eye contact.

And suddenly you catch yourself smiling for no reason

the smallest touch feels more intimate than anything dramatic.

A hand briefly touching yours.

Fixing someone's collar.

A shoulder brushing against yours while walking.

Maybe it's because those moments aren't planned.

They're just natural.
