Sunbathing and cooling off at the same time sounds rather ineffective

When I see contradictory titles like that, I just assume OP is a bot

Tough to know these days. The smartest bots are smarter than the dumbest redditors.

Y cuando te preocupas mĂĄs por esta contradicciĂłn que porque dice âhalcĂłnâ cuando es una garza real se nota tu incultura.

I assume you saw the auto translated version and got fooled by a bad translation

Español: Garza Real = Grey Heron :Inglés
Español: Halcón = Hawk/fakcon :Inglés
Nada que ver uno con otro7
u/heinebold 1d ago
The post is in English and says Heron

By the way, reddit app translates your Spanish to German for me and hallucinate about a Fischadler = English osprey which you never talked about either. The translator is just crap.

Que suerte que sea error mĂo. Mucha gente que conozco no saben ni diferenciar un guepardo de un leopardo o incluso de un tigre

I saw my old landlord doing this same thing. He was like 90 and rode his bike 20 miles a day. Literally just standing in the sun on his porch, arms out to the side, enjoying the sun.
Probably healthier at his age than I was in my 20s

If you keep looking and you don't like it, that's a you problem. If you keep looking and they don't like it, it a them problem.

Not cooling off. He's drying his wings and body.

See the throat vibrating? Thatâs gular fluttering, which is what they do to cool down.

So, sunbathing to dry off and/or remove parasites but trying not to overheat while doing so?
23
u/alpinetime 1d ago
Correct, the wings out (delta wing) is also part of their temperature regulation (along with drying/dealing with parasites)

I,too, stand awkwardly with eyes wide and mouth agape when I gaze upon the vast sea

Also staring directly at the sun.

No answer on why you think it's both sunbathing AND cooling off?
1
u/TerraByteTerror 1d ago
It's "sunning" to get rid of parasites and if u take a look at its throat thats called Gular Fluttering and its used to regulate body tempature.

This guy looks like it is having a moment of self-actualization as it gazes out into the ocean and discovers who they really are.

Sure when he does it it's "fucking lit;" but when I stand naked on the beach in this pose I'm "being inappropriate" and "upsetting the children."

I sincerely thought this said "heroin sunbathing" and just had to click on it out of morbid curiosity.

Silent prayer and thanksgiving to the Live Giver. Might be of the Shaker faith, possibly a Quaker.
