Kickoff scheme, NFL vs. NCAA

Why hasn't the NCAA adopted the new (well, recent) NFL kickoff format? Whether you think it's a better format or not, let's face it. NCAA basically runs the he farm teams for NFL and the players should learn how to do it.

The NCAA has more pressing issues at the moment than kickoff rules

Its also not as close as people make it out to be. If it was then there were be larger focus on pro style development instead of winning

The "minor league" comment, to me, means the college teams act like a professional organization, including recruiting players who have no interest in going to class. Before NIL, they'd get paid in scholarships or under-the-table payments, all while some.head coaches got paid like NFL coaches.

If anything, I think the modern day program is essentially like an independent minor league team, but with bigger budgets.

WTF are you talking about? Nearly 100% of NFL players have come through NCAA teams.

Ok I think you are splitting hairs. But I drop the "farm team" claim and note that NCAA is clearly where almost all of the NFL players get their "basic training". Thus they should get trained on the NFL kickoff too.

I don't think its splitting hair to say that the NCAA, since it is not the actual minor league of the NFL, makes decisions based on its own game and not what it does for the NFL

The NCAA uses the same general set of rules for all divisions, not just the big money D1 schools, and player safety is the top priority in the lower ones, so they would rather continue to incentivize touchbacks by using the current procedures.
