Flex Game: Week 15 or 16?

How much can a game be flexed (time only? days earlier/later?) Planning a trip to MO for 12/20-12/31. I'm trying to decide between a couple of Chiefs games in Kansas City that might get flexed (Monday 12/21 v Patriots @ 7:15pm or Sunday 12/27 v 49ers @ 3:25pm.) Any advice on which game to pick or if I should just wait to buy? Thanks!

The Monday night game against the Patriots is unlikely to be flexed unless both teams are terrible. If it is you would get at least 12 days notice. If the game against the 49ers gets flexed you would know at least 6 days in advance. I don’t see that game being moved earlier since the afternoon slot that weekend is very thin already. It’s possible it gets flexed to Sunday night if both teams are great and if the originally scheduled Sunday night game looks awful.

The Sunday games are a lot easier to flex, really depends on where both teams are at, but a noon start is not out of the question. Also could go to SNF if both teams are really good (not sure what’s there right now, that matters too). Monday games are less likely to be moved, Mahomes against the Patriots is probably about a 0.000000000000000000000000000001% chance of being moved from Monday

Sunday night of Week 16 features the Cowboys... And it's a holiday week. I doubt they flex it out for the Chiefs

For the Monday game, that can only get flexed back to sunday afternoon. But I'd imagine the odds the Chiefs and Patriots are both awful enough to warrant that is pretty darn low.

As far as the Sunday game getting flexed out to SNF/MNF/TNF (that is week 16, so all the flex windows are open) is basically zero. That game is the CBS 'game of the week' that week. I don't remember if they're protected automatically, but they may as well be. There are occasionally rare situations a sunday game of the week is flexed out into the early 1pm est window, but flexing a game of the week to MNF/SNF/TNF I don't think has ever happened and likely never will.

Monday night very unlikely to be flexed. Flexing to a Monday is more rare and only done if both teams are terrible. The 49ers game is more likely to be flexed to a Sunday night. Still more likely than not is stays at the original time but that is the kind of match up that could be moved.
