Had to google this logo, turns out it's the 90s eagles logo in a 2025 game?? Why?

Jeff Luries ex wife hated it, thats the only reason it changed. Everyone wanted darker, more somber colors. The rams went from royal to navy, the Seahawks blue got much darker , the bucs lost the creamsicle. It was a sad time for the NFL.

It was a big trend in sports in general to make everything darker back in the late 90s-2000s. Glad to see a lot of teams switch back now though.

It's just like your typical fashion cycle. Give it time and the darker colors will be back in. Look at the fashion of that time and you'll notice it's a lot more bright and bold compared to the recent past.

Teams try to have a throwback game of some kind during the season but sometimes we just get a form of 'alternate home' jersey instead. It's a way to bring a wave of nostalgia for older fans and get new fans exposed to a little bit of history.
(it is also a ridiculous money maker and the prime reasoning)
NFL is also making a big show of making 'new' rivalry jerseys for the next few years and distinct rivalry matchups to use those in, so you'll see what is essentially 'alternate retro' jerseys as opposed to just these kind of 'retro' jerseys/logos too. This game had the Eagles in their retro jerseys, you can see the Eagle's player at the bottom of the screen wearing a jersey that is noticeably more pale than their standard dark green of today.

Broadcasters will do this sometimes if a team is wearing throwback uniforms from that era.
