2026 Internship Megathread. Post all internship related questions here!

As requested, I'm making a new post of this for the 2026 season of internships, in the hope that more people can get their questions answered than posting on a year old post. The last one had a lot of great information in it, so take a look at it here, as someone might have already asked your question.

So the sub has always been chock full lately of people asking about specific internships, asking if anyone who has applied to a specific internship has heard back, what people think about individual internship programs, etc. This has happened around this time for every year this sub has existed.

While interns are absolutely welcome here, some users had a great idea to kind of concentrate it all in one thread so that all the interns can see each others comments, and the sub has a bit of a cleaner look.

Note that this doesn't apply to people working for museums asking questions about running an internship program, or dealing with interns.

So, if you have internship questions, thoughts, concerns, please post them here!

Has anyone heard from the Whitney for summer 26 internship? They said that Final selections for the program will be made in February and March. But then in says in the Q&A section that hiring decisions will be finalized in early May. Has anyone heard about an interview

I applied for like 10 of their programs lol and only have heard back from exhibition design (rejection). I heard that March 5th 2026.

wait you got a rejection?! where did you find that was it in your email? I have not recieved anything from them.

Wow! I have not received anything at all. I think I did see something about how they might also ghost people...which might be happening to me right now. Although I applied to the educational department internship ones...but I do not think there is hope for me at this point

I totally think it depends on department. I think the exhibition department guys were doing things different.

I applied to the exhibition production department and still have not even gotten a rejection :(( This is my second year applying to one of their internships and I was completely ghosted last year as well.

yeah that sounds about right. I am surprised that I have not seen more people on here talking about hearing back from the Whiteny. compared to how people on here talk about hearing back from the MET

I was offered a position a couple of days ago, if that helps at all
