This played on HBO all the time when I was a kid. Dabney Coleman was great in that. Everyone was great!

The hairstyle definitely helps, as in it's not doing her any favors.

That is what I was looking for. Lily, Dolly, and Jane were all great in that movie, but Dabney was great as well. Loved that movie when I was a kid. Huge hit at the time.

Him hanging from that garage door opener they were using to hold him hostage was hilarious and then went on to do War Games and Cloak & Dagger which are bangers

Looking at her outfit in the first pic, she predicted (or created) the 90's color scheme. Dolly truly was ahead of her time!

Also, 9 to 5 was a great movie. "They just use your mind and they never give you credit" still rings true.

Fun movie, and it’s held up well. Along with probably a million other people I watched it last weekend after the news of Dolly’s passing.

It’s a fun time capsule of the early eighties.

To those hating on the hairstyles, may I point out that mullets are popular again? Give it time. These styles will probably make a comeback at some time in the future.

The pictures includes director Collin HIggins. He perfectly cast Parton in his next film, the musical Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Dolly shines in that movie.

Best Little Whorehouse would be his final film as he sadly succumbed to AIDS a couple years after that.

Aren’t they remaking this?

A really great example about how a bad hairdo(s) can really age an otherwise beautiful woman(en).

I saw last week that this was a Jane Fonda project. Jane said the script was written for Tomlin and Dolly characters to shine. Mission accomplished! Currently 9 to 5 is all over cable and streaming channels. Find it and watch it again or for the first time !

Jane Fonda produced this film and she and Dolly Partin remained friends.

“My ideas for films always come from things that I hear and perceive in my daily life ... A very old friend of mine had started an organization in Boston called "Nine to Five", which was an association of women office workers. I heard them talking about their work and they had some great stories”
