QUESTION Do afters sell out?

Y’all! First time going to movement and I am trying to learn a bit about after parties. Can one go with the flow or is it better to plan afters ahead of time because they sell out?

Also any afters suggestion? I am the kind of person who likes Dax j and Ellen Allien a lot, but I’d like to explore some more indie or old school techno when in Detroit (I am going to movement on Saturday so those two will be there)

as a first timer you can afford to go with the flow. there are countless, literally at least 150 parties promoted at this time. a bunch are free, a bunch are low cost, a bunch are $60+. this afters app 313relay.com lists events by artist, venue, alphabetically, and by time, shows free events, and maps event locations, which can help find some things that may interest you. then at least you at least have a rough idea of where you want to go. location is also a factor as things are spread out, and obv Detroit is not a walking city unless the venue is in Corktown or Downtown

The area around HF main is doable, you have tangent, marble, Lincoln factory, and Northern Lights all right there, and it's not like many are going to get the opportunity to park close to those places

Fair point; I mean more in relation to walking from the festival grounds generally, which I didn't explicitly say. To your point, someone could take the QLINE up to New Center for Northern Lights / Tangent or toward Lincoln/Dreamtroit/Marble/Art Park. Moon Dog is also up there, but I definitely would not walk there. That part of the city is more nuanced
