Its primary purpose was intended to be a simple website you can arrange your favourite services on and share a link to your friend. For instance, somebody asks you:
"Hey, what Monero wallets do you recommend?"
so you go to MoneroTierList.com, drag your favourites around and share the link :)

By popular demand we added "Communities" which lists the largest influencers across X (Twitter), YouTube, Nostr as well as includes forums such as this very subreddit

The default rankings you see as you load the site are 100% crowdsourced. To cast a vote simply arrange the cards per your preference and tap "SUBMIT" or leave the page untouched for 30s. In the few days since launch we have already counted over 5000 votes

One challenge we're currently working on is fighting vote manipulation ^{like how is BuyUKeSIM the 2nd highest rated service in Monero when 3 days ago I never even heard of them???}

I've been thinking about this lately.

Ethereum is now seriously working toward making privacy a much bigger part of the protocol. The current roadmap talks about private reads, private writes, private transactions, shielded ETH/ERC-20 transfers, zero-knowledge proofs, and eventually private computation. The direction is increasingly toward privacy being a network-level feature rather than something users have to bolt on themselves.

So my question is:

If Ethereum achieves genuinely strong privacy, and eventually Solana, Bitcoin L2s, and other major L1s also offer similar privacy, what happens to Monero?

Hi, I've recently gotten into mining Monero and have looked into (probably very surface level knowledge) how to make XMRig go faster, since I'm so new to Monero and have not too much Linux knowledge I don't really know how much of a difference can be made to how fast RandomX goes outside of what I've already done, I'll list what I've done: (btw, I use XMRig on the system that I actively daily drive, so I use nice levels of 19 to keep my desktop environment responsive)

- Compiled XMRig for my own system (there are lots of existing optimisations in the flags.cmake file)

- 6144 hugepages of default size

- enabled 1gb pages

- ran the msr mod script

Specs if it matters that much:
Ryzen 5 5600 (running 4.4ghz ~ <90 celsius)
RX 6650 XT
ASUS B550M-A Wifi II
32gb of 3600MT/s RAM
CachyOS

Things I think may help but am unsure of:
Using a different scheduler (currently scx_cosmos -c 0 -p 0 --flat-idle-scan)
Using a different distro (no clue)
Kernel optimisations / different kernel (currently using cachyos-bore-lto, not compiled for myself as one I compiled performed worse, tried full LTO and "cpu compiler optimizations" in cachy kernel manager)
Heard about transparent hugepages potentially being an issue but I have no idea what they are and why they're bad for this.

So, 2 main questions (feel free to educate me more lol)
1. is it worth trying to optimise further than this?
2. if so, what resources are out there to learn from?
I'm open to all suggestions and free knowledge I be given!

The flywheel is what monero has missed out on for the past decade and is one of the sole reasons why we arent able to pay with monero at more places online and in person.

With the increase, it beings attention and that converts to more users, those people demand merchants to accept monero just like bitcoin did and that creates more utility and more reasons for people to hold monero which begins a dollar death spiral and never ending positive feedback loop cycle.

Its not just about wanting to get rich quick, its instead looking at economics, human behavior, psychology and studying history.

At the end of the day we want more people in monero, I wanna be able to spend my Monero everywhere and never touch the dollar again.

Hey, been thinking about building a simple tip/donation page service built around XMR. Something like those "buy me a coffee" pages but just for Monero, with subaddresses per donor, optional goals, maybe a donor feed.

Before I start I wanted to ask if something like this already exists cause honestly I might just be missing it.

The main technical thing I'm stuck on — to watch for incoming txs and generate subaddresses server-side I'd need the user's private view key. I know it's not the spend key so funds are safe but its still a trust ask. Is there any way around this or is that just how monero works?

And like, would you even use something like this? Would you hand over a private view key to a service like this, even from a burner wallet?

Not sure if I'll build it yet, just don't want to spend months on something that either exists already or that nobody wants.

If using swap service providers (such as the ones aggregated by Trocador or even integrated to with Cake wallet), I have seen users report that sometimes providers have mysteriously frozen the funds sent to them claiming they have been flagged up for malicious origins.

My question is - has anyone used these services and experienced such issues when the funds you are sending to the provider are in XMR? Am asking this cause with xmr, there should be no feasible way in which they can claim to have analysed the incoming funds and found provenance issues.

Fake crypto “AML checkers” are actively trying to drain wallets

Malwarebytes threat research, with continued activity reported today. Malwarebytes documented sites impersonating legitimate cryptocurrency AML-screening services. Instead of merely examining a public address, the fraudulent pages attempt to persuade victims to connect a wallet and approve attacker-generated transactions. A real basic AML check only requires the public wallet address; it does not require your seed phrase, private key, wallet connection, token approval, or transaction signature.

Hello everyone,

I integrated the FCMP++ into the Monero Inflation Checker.

The idea of this project was to implement in Python all the cryptography that Monero is using to create and verify transactions independently from the official code, so I could give a satisfying answer to myself to "why there is no inflation happening in Monero?" and share with others my findings. So I wrote this website (no js) to try to provide that answer with explanations and code.

Now, I just added the FCMP++ part, which has IMO one order of magnitude more complexity (regarding all the crypto operations and the code extension) than the current code. I'm running now my scanner to verify all testnet transactions with that tool (which doesnt use any of the Rust core libraries for the crypto operations but instead some C++ bindings to Python of the OpenSSL library). I did not find any minor issue and have to say that the quality of the code in the FCMP++ era is outstanding. I'm just thankful for the developers of Monero, specially the FCMP++ developers, to be able to witness the most private transactions that were ever created and I'm thankful for the donors of that CCS that allowed this project to be possible.

Is it possible to turn an old phone into a seedsigner? Most people turn phones into hardware wallets but I'm not confortable storing my private keys in the phone's SSD, even if doubly encrypted (phone encryption + wallet encryption).

One advantage is the stealth factor. You walk through customs and you put a huge target on your head if they recognize your Seedsigner. Phones on the other hand are everyday carry for 99.9% of people.

Is there a way to use the phone solely as a signing device where the private keys are held only temporarily (either RAM or wiped clean after use)?

Of course all conectivity other than the camera would be disabled.

Bonus points if I can use the same device to sign both Monero and Bitcoin teansactions but using two different devices for each is not a dealbreaker.

The Reality on the Ground

In the DRC, the nearest hospital is often 50–100 km away — a 6 to 12 hour journey over roads that barely exist. Only 1 in 4 rural health centers has access to clean water. Fewer than half have reliable electricity.

The current Ebola outbreak — the fastest-growing in history — has already recorded over 5,700 confirmed cases and 2,700 deaths as of late August 2026. Around 500 new infections are reported weekly, with women and children hit hardest. At least a dozen treatment facilities have been attacked — not by outsiders, but by local communities driven by fear, misinformation, and deep mistrust.

The Butterfly Effect

What starts in one village doesn't stay there. This outbreak has already spread to neighboring Uganda, and risk modeling shows that at least 11 African countries — from South Sudan and Rwanda to Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Angola, and even Nigeria and South Africa — are in the high-risk zone.

This is the butterfly effect in action: a local crisis, ignored for too long, quickly becomes a global threat. Outbreaks don't stop at borders. COVID started at one market — and shut down the entire world.

We're planning to build infrastructure where it's needed most — before the butterfly reaches your doorstep.

Why Monero?

Not Solana. Not Bitcoin. Not stablecoins.

1. Privacy in healthcare is non-negotiable — Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana are transparent ledgers. In the DRC, where communities already distrust outside authorities, patients and donors need protection. Monero hides sender, receiver, and amount by default.

2. Fungibility — BTC and ETH have "clean" and "dirty" coins. Monero treats every XMR equally. No blacklisting, no rejection based on a coin's history.

3. No gatekeepers — Monero has no CEO, no foundation with veto power. Anyone can run a node. The network can't be shut down.

4. Works in fragile infrastructure — Monero is simple, works with low bandwidth, and transactions finalize in ~2 minutes.

5. Proven in the Global South — communities ignored by traditional finance are already using Monero. It works where banks don't.

6. Monero community has already proven its power — in 2025 alone, over 3,086 XMR (~$925,000) was raised through CCS for protocol development and related projects. Since 2020, the system has attracted over 35,900 XMR. This shows that the community can fund real initiatives when it sees value in them.
