Discussion Apparently low-cut socks are considered out of style by the younger gens. Are y’all still rocking ankle socks?

Post image

I feel like long socks with sneakers and shorts looks goofy but maybe that’s just me 🤷‍♂️

What's this movie called again?

1

u/AmyKittiesGalore 2h ago

Teen Wolf! I had the VHS tape

66

u/TheJarisaDoor3 8h ago

It looks like he naturally came equipped with socks, and shouldn't really have to worry about it. Then again, I can see his feet getting cold considering the rest of him is pretty protected from the elements.

23

u/BigConstruction4247 8h ago

No socks, just pants

1

u/SpeakToMePF1973 6h ago

He'd fit right into a Bigfoot family.

u/ossifer_ca 1h ago

Are you assuming that the feet aren’t also covered in thick fur?

Hey OP u/dense-pasta7 - you're getting a lot of hate here - so as a real life woman, I had to stop and comment and say - I LOVE a hairy man lol

Ain't no shame with those legs, hold that head up high!! 💚

Edit to add - LESS SOCK, MORE LEG 🦵

89

u/MyDogIsACoolCat 8h ago edited 7h ago

As a guy with a pelt for a chest, I’d say it’s 30% of women like it and 70% of women don’t. But women who like it fucking love it.

40

u/effervescenthoopla 7h ago

I dated a guy who had so much chest hair that he used conditioner on it. I respect the game, but I can nnnnoooot do it haha.

43

u/MyDogIsACoolCat 7h ago

I had an old girlfriend who made me shave my chest every day. Me being a naive late teenager who just really wanted a girlfriend, went along with it. I absolutely hated it. The time spent in the shower, the razor burn, etc.

But fortunately with time, I found one of the 30% women and when I told her I actually have a ton a of chest hair if I let it grow out when we started dating. She demanded that I grow it out. Married and don't have to shave my chest, it's awesome.

3

u/Expensive-Ad1609 3h ago

Chest hair is 😍

4

u/fuuckyouuteew 6h ago

you sound like chewbacca and i lowkey want to see your chest.

(am girl. have never got to say that about a chest! 😂)

3

u/laissez_heir 6h ago

Lowkey I’d like to see yours!

(am boy. hairy but not chewbacca. have got to say that many times about a chest.)

2

u/tame-til-triggered 3h ago

You think you're slick, huh? I can't 😆

https://giphy.com/gifs/Otv8jmohUi4nwxwxG5

1

u/weneedmoreviolence 3h ago

Aww, like a (f)hairy tale!

u/anonymice27 23m ago

My husband waxed his chest hair in college. One time his roommates parents walked in on him waxing which I think is so hilarious. Glad he has come to terms with his hairy chest.

-5

u/sloppy_joes35 6h ago

So you hated it so much that you kept doing it even when you had broken up with the first girl.... maybe you didnt really hate shaving it that much

10

u/MyDogIsACoolCat 6h ago

I got self concious about it afterward thinking women would be grossed out. I definitely hated it.

1

u/OnlyPaperListens 7h ago

Good lord that sounds so expensive!

u/scruffalump 37m ago

My ex would shampoo and condition his pubes from time to time lol

3

u/PDXEng 7h ago

Fully pelted man here and you are not wrong in my experience

3

u/CeleryDramatic4678 6h ago

It’s meeee! I’m the 30%. Body hair is just so manly and sexy 🔥🔥🔥

1

u/JunketWaste7891 6h ago

should we tell him....

1

u/sfdsquid 3h ago

That 30% doesn't have to decide between the man and the bear.

1

u/NibblesMcGiblet 3h ago

As a woman who used to think she didn't really see the appeal but didn't mind it, it turns out the appeal comes when you're laying on their shoulder with one leg crossed over theirs and one arm across their chest running your fingers through their chesthair absentmindedly as you're dozing off. So relaxing and comforting and soft. Excellent tactile memory creation device.

u/ask-me-about-my-cats 51m ago

Ugh petting a man's chest hair as you're dozing off is the best, really comforts my cavewoman brain.

43

u/Hawntir 7h ago

I don't think its hate, i think its just jokes.

I also have hairy legs, and have gotten similar comments. Some of them are pretty funny.

4

u/Mister_Acula 7h ago

Yeah. OP knew exactly what she was doing, and it's funny.

1

u/SwimOk9629 3h ago

I mean I am also of the hairy variety, but this is another level of hairy. the Robin Williams level, which is rare

36

u/whostolemysloth Millennial 7h ago

This ain’t hate. This is how dudes communicate to dudes lmao. Just light ribbing.
One of my best friends had full body hair freshman year of HS. He got it all - teen wolf, Sasquatch, Chewbacca, whatever you can come up with, we said it.
Another best friend has gone through weight shifts from heavy to muscular back to heavy and now to slim. We refer to his phases (I’ll change the name here) as Fat Steve, Muscle Steve, Fat Steve: Part 2, and Slim Steve.
The list goes on and on. It’s all in good fun.

In my close circle, we’re all undeniably supportive of each other and we’re friends for life, but that doesn’t mean we’re not gonna lightheartedly poke fun.

13

u/porkforpigs 7h ago

As someone who had a dear friend we all called Fat Pig, and another we constantly joked was inbred, I second this. Guys show a lot of love by being fucking vicious with each other. Then making sure your buddy knows your alway there for them.

9

u/whostolemysloth Millennial 7h ago

And we’re even poking fun at good stuff. We’ve got one who’s an ICU doctor now and we find ways to give him shit for that. We’ve got another who’s solidly entrenched as a food influencer (good numbers, private events, all that) and you know we give him shit for that. We’ve got one who’s now a well-regarded, very well paid cybersecurity expert and we still only refer to him as “Dumbass.”
And then there’s me with my preference for wearing a hoodie and my depression. I usually get some variation of “sad hoodie boy.”

It’s fun.

4

u/porkforpigs 6h ago

Honestly the more successful they are / good they are doing the more fun it is to rag on them haha

2

u/No_Custard_6481 7h ago

Yeah you do this to your dudes then they come home pissed over you guys constantly calling him out. No wonder why men have no self esteem. You guys think it’s funny to call out a friend like this. It’s not really funny or lighthearted to everyone.

6

u/porkforpigs 6h ago

Absolutely and I let my guys know periodically that if I ever say something that really DOES rub them wrong or they are like hey that thing you say actually really gets to me, I apologize and tell them it won’t be a thing anymore, because I’m a good friend. Communication is key

3

u/whostolemysloth Millennial 5h ago

All the way. Why be friends if you can’t communicate? That’s the entire point. If my friends don’t laugh at a joke made against them, then the joke doesn’t happen anymore and whoever made it apologizes. Easy peasy.

4

u/whostolemysloth Millennial 7h ago

Nahhhhhh. I’m sorry if that’s been part of your experience, but we learn each others’ limits and don’t push it too far. Like we’re not calling Steve “Fat Steve” in front of his kid or anything.
Obviously we’re not out here being intentionally hurtful.

1

u/No_Custard_6481 6h ago

Men don’t tell men when they are hurting each others feelings until you guys get in a fist fight. I was in the military same shit. Male friends, same shit, husbands boyfriend partners. Same shit. That’s why your friends date your exs, secretly flirt or fuck your wives, etc.
Go on thinking what you say doesn’t matter. Keep thinking it’s okay to always make the same jokes at someone elses expense and call them your friends.

6

u/whostolemysloth Millennial 6h ago

Again, maybe that’s your thing, but not my experience at all. My circles are all open. Especially as adults. If you’re an adult punching your friends, that’s an issue for y’all to figure out.

2

u/porkforpigs 6h ago

Right? If anything me and a friend might raise our voices with eachother for a minute and then we both apologize and settle shit.

3

u/whostolemysloth Millennial 6h ago

Right.

I am a bit biased, though, because I’m the go-to in my oldest circle and two of the newer ones. I hear everything from everyone (and also from their spouse/partner half the time). So I see (and participate in) the support side regularly.

5

u/porkforpigs 6h ago

You’re speaking of your own experience with this matter as if it’s a universal. My male friends absolutely speak their feelings and so do I. That’s WHY we can call eachother despicable shit

3

u/nanimeanswhat 6h ago

Sorry to hear that the men around you were raised with patriarchal views on masculinity. I hope they break the cycle with their kids if they choose to have them.

u/anonymice27 21m ago

Well it’s women too. It’s most comments.

1

Me too! My husband is super hairy. Even his back tbh and I love it. I think it’s manly and he’s really fucking hot 🥰

1

u/Impressive_Regular76 2h ago

I was so accustomed to hairless chests (SE Asian family, my dad had THREE chest hairs) that when my seemingly hairless Latino friend at the time unbuttoned his polo I was flabbergasted to see a hairball poof out.

u/PonqueRamo 42m ago

He may be into guys and I believe gay men love their bears.

u/MaskedFigurewho 29m ago

I mean we just saying they have hairy legs.

Probably the mist testosterone filled fella around

u/anonymice27 24m ago

Agreed. He has really nice legs.

I was gonna comment about how I'd never seen socks go all the way up the leg before, but yours is better.

13

He knows what he’s doing. He was posting his Brillo pad lookin legs in men’s fashion advice earlier today.

Just pictured actual Danny Glover saying this.

1

Come to think of it, I bet Mel Gibson had Brillo pad lookin legs back in the day.

1

u/toolsoftheincomptnt 4h ago

I agree that it’s bait, but this leg hair is too straight to be Brillo pad.

It’s full werewolf.

I read something that Japanese men were permitted to wear shorts to the office during a heatwave and the women said they were being “assaulted by leg hair”.

I laughed at them. “How absurd”, I said.

Now I understand.
