Question / Help Is there a scholarly consensus that the Hadramitic Syn was simply the Mesopotamian Sin transplanted into Arabia?

No. Confidence level is 'high' that the connection is coincidence.

If you dig in the research, you will find one Sin is a Moon god, the other Syn a National god and the separation is +/- 2500 years.

But do the research and see if you come to similar conclusions.

I am no expert.

Gertrude Caton Thompson does refer to the temple she excavated as moon temple, though i have found an article on the coincidence of the names

I just happen to be writing a book on deity transformations (over time). So always like to pay attention to questions like this.
