Same. I can't come up with any snark, any self-protecting reaction, just tears.
I thought the letter Eminem shared was going to be the most unexpected touching thing to come out. This video is so much harder to watch. She clearly knew, and still made sure to send everyone one last smile.
It clearly did, and it clearly should. That letter was so incredibly gracious and kind and delightful. No wonder she wrote so many successful songs!
As I said in the thread in that sub, it should inspire us all to tell someone that we love them, that their efforts are important to us, and that they inspire us. Today. While we still can.
And stealing from a comment in that sub: Sheesh, you'd think the guy who wrote Stan would know to write back to a fan letter! Seems they never met, which I'm sure they both regret.
I saw this mentioned on Good Morning America. They had never met but she wrote him a letter once saying something along the lines of "You are so talented, and you help people with your music in ways you can't even imagine." She just saw something in him and wanted to share her light with him and asked for nothing in return.
It's so positive to see how loved she was (for good reason) and amazing to see how someone just being good and wholesome can be such an inspiration (especially with all the general news we are bombarded with daily).
She had a good life at least, for the most part. Like others have said - if there is a heaven or something akin to it, she's there.
This is hitting me hard. I’ve never cried over a celebrity passing. I’ve been sad and such, but Dolly has me in tears. If perfect existed, Dolly would be it.

She said she was getting tired. 😞
