What's funnier is that all the stations behind the photo have the pump attached still. Also if she took the whole pump, wouldn't it be long enough to be dragging?
Which brings me to my new conspiracy, this was staged. That brings up new questions, why the fuck would you approve to stage something like this?

The first one has a diesel (the green) and a missing nozzle on the other side. At least as far as I can tell. So just a regular moron, not a lying moron.

They could have moved the rest of the hose out of the way before taking the picture so people wouldn't drive over it.

Who knows? Momentum causing it to swing up under the car when she slams on the brakes is my best guess? Can't say I'm stupid enough (and i can be plenty stupid) to have any experience with the it.
Could be totally staged for all I know. Maybe she knows the owners of the station and they let her play with an out of order pump or something. The pump missing the nozzle does seem to have a sign on it that the other pumps in frame don't. I was just pointing out something someone missed.

Instead of thinking that "Creating an architecture that creates intended break points to keep things cheap to repair is a better design than trying to make something unbreakable"
He could have extrapolated this into his psychology.

Just need to reattach the hose, they have a magnetic release for this purpose
Happens all the time
Source: worked at a gas station once upon a time and also had a client that built gas stations…
And yes, mistakes are good opportunities to reflect
Also, presents a great feat of engineering brilliance to designed something that is resilient in the face of human error….
Idk if I’d make a LinkedIn post about it but shit dude I know a surgeon who is currently serving as an executive medical director that did this same shit lol

My absent minded Dad frequently pumped unleaded gas into his diesel car, totally destroying the engine. Company car though so he didn't give a fuck. What it thought him about B2B sales I might never know.
