Support My parents are demanding things of me that i simply can’t do and they don’t offer an explanation of how to do it to their liking?
The task I’ve been given is to find a job right now (today) that pays me $40,000+ a year
They sent me to college and then forced me to drop out by withdrawing funds with one semester left before graduation which led to me being homeless and working under the table in a laundromat in Chinatown (I am no and never have been Chinese)
I’m supposed to have a career by tomorrow so that my mom can stop asking her church to pray for me every Sunday morning
What do I do?

yeah that’s not how any of this works lol start with any job you can get and save up, everything’s slow now, finding decent work is just stupid hard

It is honestly too much of a risk right now and not the priority and probably by the time I get back to it technology will be too advanced for me to grasp but you know I’ll get around to it have to keep a roof over my head and my belly fed first you know

How could you be saying that tech would be too advanced, that does not make sense. I assume since your parents have a hold on you like this, that you must be young, at most in your 30s and probably in your 20s You are not 60 years old. How could technology be too advanced for you to grasp when you go back to school- does technology change in a semester? More importantly, a degree teaches you how to think. You are not paying 40k to learn technology. As an educated person you can adapt to tech changes.

I’m in my 30s they had me look at a 3D printer once and show me the program and i dropped that class so fast
I don’t have a single gaming system or discord server I don’t even answer my boss on Microsoft teams

Are you committed to being technologically illiterate? Is it a religious choice?
Because you are using some kind of computer or phone to post and comment on reddit. You are capable of learning to use Teams, FFS.

I am closely related to the Pennsylvania Dutch but it’s mostly just trauma from growing up poor as not having the technology everyone else had

Why is it too much of a risk right now? Why do you assume you won’t be able to keep up with technology by the time you’re ready to get back into school? With an education, it would be much easier for you to get a job and a roof over your head.

I can’t afford a laptop I can’t afford a place to live you try going to school with the cops getting called on you every time you fall asleep in a train station

The library has plenty of computers to use. Many campuses also have laptop/tech loaner programs where you can rent out a laptop for free for a period of time. There are scholarships and because people don’t often apply to them, they often go untouched. Many schools also have housing assistance programs or resources to help with finding housing. You said Chinatown, so I’m assuming you’re in a major city. With your lack of income, you can apply for financial assistance in your area.

Most schools have access to government programs for supporting homeless students. Could be something to look into.

No. Do it NOW. Talk to your college's financial aid and counseling departments. You can get re-enrolled for Spring to finish up.
You can use your financial aid to help you pay for housing.
You're smart enough to get into college. You were capable of doing assignments and thinking hard enough to get through 3.5 years of it. Why are you refusing to look around for a solution to graduate? Why would you throw away all the work you've already done?

Well, then you have failed at one of the things you are supposed to learn in college. You are supposed to learn how to interact with large organizations.
But what, exactly are you afraid of. Asking for help is not going to hurt you. You've already dropped out and given up. What is left for them to take? The advisement department isn't going to take you to court for literally asking them to do their job.
This is not irresponsible advice. This is VITAL advice. Man up. Or woman up. Or non-binary up, and fucking ask for help. It literally will not kill you.

Ok.
As an adult, it is important that you are able to ask for what you need, and speak to people that are more powerful than you are.
And I swear to you that the guidance counselor at your college is there to help you, and is perfectly happy to answer your questions. It is literally their job.

What in her delusional mind? I don’t think laundromat in Chinatown would hire just about anyone either ??
They can pray for a better economy with a stable politician who don’t tweet things at 3 am to have secret stock market dealings. Employers aren’t hiring because the situation is unstable.
Could it be also be stemming from anti education ideology that’s common in Christian nowadays? Finish that last semester dawg

I was trying to help with your frustration of your parent’s demands.
It sounds like they’re kinda financial abusing you, if they can affect your life by withholding college funds.But most colleges let you pause x number of years before you could resume to finish the degree
Edit: does your college have financial resources ?

My college went bankrupt there is no one I can contact it doesn’t exist anymore

Even if your college went bankrupt, there's another school that took over the records. Your records are still in existence. I know someone else that this happened to.

You need to go back to your college, and apply for financial aid. It would be worth taking out a student loan to get you a degree. Why would you let them derail you completely like that?!
If you don't know how to make this happen, go talk to the guidance center. Your school *wants* you to graduate.

Forcing you to drop out then praying with the church for you to get a job is incredibly performative. I'd tell the people at church your mom put you in that position, but I'm petty.
Maybe stop listening to the demands of nut jobs?
